Rhwng blynyddoedd 600 - 800 C.C. dechreuodd y llwythau Celtaidd oedd yn byw yng Nghymru geisio gwneud haearn. Gallwn weld y gwrthrychau a wnaethant mewn casgliadau o ddarnau gwerthfawr yr oeddent yn eu rhoi mewn llynnoedd fel offrwm i’w duwiau. Un enghraifft yw’r casgliad y daethpwyd o hyd iddo yn Llyn Fawr ger Hirwaun yn Rhondda Cynon Taf. Yng nghasgliad Llyn Fawr, yn ogystal â gwrthrychau haearn a wnaed yn lleol, mae rhai gafodd eu gwneud gryn bellter o Gymru, megis rhan o lafn cleddyf addurnedig o ddwyrain Ffrainc. Mae nifer o fannau yng Nghymru lle gallwn weld tystiolaeth sut oedd bywyd bob dydd yn y cyfnod hwn, megis bryngaer Tre’r Ceiri ym Mhenrhyn Llŷn yng Ngwynedd. Roedd bywyd yn y tŷ crwn Celtaidd yn gylch prysur o dyfu, cadw a choginio bwyd, magu anifeiliaid, gwneud defnydd a chreu offer o fetel a phren. Gallai menywod yn ogystal â dynion fod yn arweinwyr, ac roedd plant yn hanfodol i economi’r teulu.

Preparations and competitions for St David's Day ( March 1st) are well under way at Cefn Fforest Primary, as they will be at all schools in Wales as the big day approaches. We had 3D model dragons made at home by Year 3 pupils (and helpers), taking up every available shelf in Main School. Also there were musicians practicing in any space they could find - choirs and dancers using their play times to prepare as we look forward to a day of Welsh Crafts and activities and an Eisteddfod ( Cultural Competitions) - which will include the chairing of the Cefn Fforest Bard ( Year 6 poet of the Year)
