It's human nature to snuggle up to the edge of irresponsibility or disaster and stay there as long as possible. But instead of wondering how close we can get before crossing the line, we need to ask ourselves an important question: Is this wise? Pastor Brian wraps up our series by asking the question: "What does love require of me?" Finding consistent and meaningful relationships may be difficult, but they are the ones we value the most!
Pastor Brian helps us consider the question: what is the mature thing to do? Often, we tend not to take everything into account, but here we want to consider our past experience, current circumstances and future hopes.
Sometimes an option we're considering creates tension inside of us. When that happens, it can be tempting to ignore the discomfort or brush by it. But instead of doing that, we need to pay close attention to it. Check out this message as we continue the message series, "Better Decisions & Fewer Regrets," and reflect on the conscience question: Is there a tension that deserves my attention? If this message is a blessing, you can support our ministries by donating at www.fumccb.com. Your life is more than random, disconnected events. It's a story being written. The easiest person to deceive is the person in the mirror. As we seek to make good decisions, it's important to ask the integrity question: Am I being honest with myself? As we talk about our legacy, we have to ask ourself the question: what story do we want our life to tell? Pastor Rick gives us things to consider as we look at our decisions during the new year.
As we kick off a new year at One Church, we begin a series that will challenge us with five questions everyone should ask themselves. In 2024, we ask: are we being honest with ourselves...really?
When you're unsure of what to say or do, ask what love requires of you. "What does real godly love look like?"
We are either the architects of our lives, or we are the assassins of our lives. "What is the wise thing for me to do?"
With God-given tension must come God-empowered focus. "Is there a tension that deserves my attention?"
We write the story of our lives one detail a a time. "What story do I want to tell when this is only a story to tell?"
Our decisions never rise above the quality of the questions that lead to those decisions. So... ask yourself this, "Am I being honest with myself... really?"
This week, we continue our series on "Proverbs." Join us as Pastor Jeremy Havlin speaks on how to make good decisions and why those decisions can be hard to make.

In light of my past experience, my present situation, my future hopes and dreams, what is the wise thing for me to do?
When it comes to navigating relationships, one of the most clarifying questions we can ask is: "What does love require of me?"
When you're making a decision, stay true to your conscience by asking: "Is there a tension that deserves my attention?"
We've all done it… We've bought things and then regretted our decision later. Maybe we bought on impulse. Maybe we bought it just to get an annoying salesperson off our back. Maybe it “seemed like a good idea at the time”. But anyway, what's done is done. You've made a purchase you wish you hadn't made. Now what? You've got two choices. One will lead to continued frustration and regret. Not to mention more clutter. The other will help you quickly forgive yourself and get on with life instead of dwelling on your mistake. What are these choices? Which will you choose? Click here now to hear what Andrew has to say.
Have you ever been invited to a party that you really didn't feel like going to but you ended up going anyway? What was the reason that you decided to go? Chances are that you, like most people, made the decision to go because of FOMO. We all find ourselves sitting in the middle of a decision that we need to make from time to time. The biggest reason that we have a hard time making decisions is because we fear missing out on opportunity. In today's episode, Coach Ashlie Walton and Detective Walton discuss how understanding what the word decide even means, we are able to create a better process for making decisions.
