There will come a time for all of us (unless we REALLY make some improvements with bio-hacking) where we are faced with our own mortality. Who is at your hypothetical bedside? Are you happy with how you’ve lived? Do you have any regrets? In this Summer School edition of the Academy of Imperfection, we are joined by Bronnie Ware. Bronnie found herself in palliative care, caring for, and listening to, the dying. And boy, are we glad she did. Bronnie collated, and published, the Top 5 Regrets of the Dying (listed below for your convenience), and this episode is devoted to talking through what each of these might mean for Hugh, Ryan and Josh. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me I wish I hadn’t worked so hard I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends I wish that I had let myself be happier Perfectly timed for the New Year, we hope you get as much out of this episode as we did. Bronnie, thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with us. To watch this full episode on YouTube, follow this link: https://www.theimperfects.com.au/episode/bronnie-ware-wha…r-future-regrets/

I want to reveal the biggest and most common regret people have before they die... it sounds morbid, but I promise this will inspire you to live differently starting today! This is based on a true documentation from a longtime hospice nurse named Bronnie, who took care of elderly patients in their last three to twelve weeks of life.Bronnie, the hospice nurse, began noticing a common theme of great remorse among these precious people coming to the end of their lives... In fact, most of Bronnie's time was spent in silence sitting at the bedside of these elderly patients. So, she just began to journal their intimate conversations. She said she realized with each of her patients that her role as a caregiver was more about listening to their “dying epiphanies” than anything else. It seemed like they each had more incredible clarity of vision than they had in their early years... They just needed an ear to listen and someone to share their deepest sorrows with. Here is what she heard over and over and over again, said in many different ways, but the same sentiments... (It may shock you, but I don't want you to come to the end of your life with these same regrets!)$8 VISION BOARD COURSE: https://imagine-university.teachable.com/p/visionboardBECOME A PARTNER: https://www.terri.com/partnership/GIVE TODAY: https://www.terri.com/single-donation/UPCOMING EVENTS: https://www.terri.com/attend/Be sure to subscribe to my podcast channel for more content about making your dreams bigger than your memories and fulfilling God's plan on your life.SAY HELLO!Website → https://www.terri.com/Instagram → https://www.instagram.com/terrisavellefoy/Tik Tok → https://www.tiktok.com/@terrisavellefoyPinterest → https://www.pinterest.com/terrisavellefoy/Support the Show.

ROADMAP TO A RICH NEW REALITY....with tools you've had access to all the time but didn't know it!!.  Hey everyone, it's Karen Baldridge here, and I'm so inspired and excited to share some incredible insights in this episode. Join me as I reflect on the impactful lessons from the intense year of 2023 (ugggg) that led me to uncover the power of upgrading my inner game (and circuitry) for massive life changes. Let's explore the invisible forces that affect our relationships, careers, and overall well-being. Learn how to break free from victimhood, release old energy patterns, and cultivate a mindset that empowers you to create the reality you've always wanted. We'll also unravel the mysteries around money, understanding its neutral nature and how upgrading your beliefs can open the doors to financial abundance. I'll share stories of inventors like Henry Ford and how they upgraded their mental and physical circuitry to create groundbreaking realities. Whether you're navigating relationships, pursuing a new career, or redefining your understanding of money, I'm here to guide you on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. Join me in "The Game of Life," starting February 6, and let's rewrite your story together.   **Key Ideas from the Podcast: "The Game of Life" with Karen Baldridge**   **Unearthing Stored Emotions:** Karen emphasizes the importance of addressing emotions stored in the body, as they may be hindering personal growth and happiness. In our latest episode of The Modern Pain Podcast, we had the privilege of hosting Bronnie Lennox Thompson, an authority in pain management and a postgraduate academic coordinator for studies in pain and pain management at the University of Otago. This enlightening conversation delves into the often-underestimated skills of active listening and compassion, both crucial elements in effective pain management. We discuss how healthcare's increasing focus on cost containment, efficiency, and productivity often leads to a loss of humanity and how we, as clinicians, can bring it back.Bronnie provides valuable insights into why clinicians need to give themselves the grace of more time and skills to truly hear and understand their patients. This not only enriches the therapeutic process but also addresses the growing issue of clinician burnout. With over three decades in the field, Bronnie argues that no patient ever complained about being listened to too much. She emphasizes that it's not just about meeting the patient's stated expectations; it's about letting them know you're listening and you care.***HELPFUL LINKS****Bronnie's blog - an absolute treasure trove on content to help you better utilize ACT and improve your overall pain management strategyDANCING AROUND THE HEXAFLEX: USING ACT IN PRACTICE 1DANCING AROUND THE HEXAFLEX: USING ACT IN PRACTICE 2DANCING AROUND THE HEXAFLEX: USING ACT IN PRACTICE 3DANCING AROUND THE HEXAFLEX: USING ACT IN PRACTICE 4*********************************************************************

What do you think you might be saying on your deathbed? Will you be looking back at your life with a sense of joy and completeness, or, do you think that you might be consumed with regret? As this week's guest shares, “It's easy to assume that you will live with great health to a ripe old age, then die peacefully in your sleep wearing your favourite pyjamas but it doesn't work out that way for most people…”Bronnie Ware is an internationally acclaimed speaker and author of the bestselling memoir, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying. Published more than 10 years ago, it's been translated into 32 languages and continues to attract new audiences. The book is about her eight years as an end-of-life carer, the close relationships she formed, and lessons she learned from those dying people, which changed her life forever. We discuss some of the various regrets of the dying and what they can teach us so that we can live better lives, right now. We talk about the concept of choice. Everything we do, or don't do, has a price – be it time or money. Our culture incentivises what we can measure – salaries, possessions, status, social media ‘likes' and comments. But Bronnie urges us to realise the sacredness and value of our time. Is a choice worth making if it means you have to sacrifice time with your loved ones? Is it worth pushing extra hard for the promotion that may bring you more money but also more stress and more time away from home? These are decisions that I think we all need to wrestle with from time to time if we are truly going to be living a contented and intentional life.We also talk about the real meaning of regret, what it means to be courageous, and how self-compassion can help us see our mistakes as a natural part of life and growth. Bronnie also defines the qualities and habits she observed in those patients who reached the end of life with no regrets – what can we learn from these people?Death can be a topic that many people shy away from discussing but Bronnie is a wonderful soul who is able to talk about death in a relatable, powerful and authentic way. Appreciating we are going to die is the first step to getting more out of life. This really was a thought-provoking and intimate conversation. What I had the privilege of discovering is the real Bronnie Taylor, the Bronnie who spent years as a nurse working in oncology and palliative care- fighting to bring services to her region in the Snowy Mountains. In fact, many of them don't know how to even start the discussion.   Today, on The Best Interest Podcast, Jesse explains a few ways to bring up this conversation, gather information, and details which topics you should discuss not just with your parents, but family at large.   Communication is a huge part of personal finance and all relationships, and the mixture of finance and family is a place where communication is paramount.   Jesse also reflects on the five regrets we commonly have at the end of life, and how David Foster Wallace thinks we should approach living a meaningful life.   Mentions: GOBankingRates Survey: https://www.gobankingrates.com/saving-money/family/americans-discuss-finances-aging-parents-survey/ Bronnie's List: https://bestinterest.blog/the-top-5-regrets-of-the-dying/ This is Water: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCbGM4mqEVw   More of The Best Interest: Check out the Best Interest Blog at bestinterest.blog Contact me at jesse@bestinterest.blog   The Best Interest Podcast is a personal podcast meant for educational and entertainment. In this week's minisode, I'm talking about a book by Australian author, Bronnie Ware, called The Top 5 Regrets Of The Dying.Whilst the title may not immediately spark joy, both the book and this episode are far more about life than they are about death.  Bronnie spent several years working in palliative care, caring for patients in the last 12 weeks of their lives. She recorded their dying epiphanies in a blog called Inspiration and Chai, which garnered so much attention that she turned it into a book. And if we want to learn how to truly live life, who better to take advice from than someone at the end of theirs? For about a year I've been contemplating my last breath in this lifetime. It's a sobering and humbling thought. But I've grown so much from that single contemplation, and I've made some shifts in my intentions on a daily basis. After I began this contemplation I came across the book Top 5 Regrets of the Dying by Bronnie Ware. This book is powerful, and definitely helped me understand myself and life much more powerfully. In this episode we'll discuss the top 5 regrets.  The primary elements of this episode are:Bronnie lived a life of service to the dying, and from being in her purpose-work her life was enriched, and so were the lives of her dying clients. By understanding these regrets, we can begin to make powerful shifts now. No matter how much time you have left on this planet, it's never too late to set an intention for your last exhale. Music Credit: "What's Left of Me" by Wes Hoffman & FriendsLinks & ResourcesTo explore options to create more wealth, success and happiness in your life email Mike Kitko directly at mike@mikekitko.com or put time on my calendar for us to connect.Visit www.innerwealthglobal.com for free resources and tools to create more wealth, success, and happiness in your life and business.Click here to buy a copy of Mike's first book The Imposter in Charge or to access his new book The Prosperity Principles: Seven Accelerators for Elite Business Owners to Achieve Breakthrough levels of Success and Live Soul Out. Welcome back for another episode of Nick's Non-fiction with your host Nick Muniz After too many years of unfulfilling work, Bronnie Ware began searching for a job with meaning. Despite having no formal qualifications or experience, she found herself working in palliative care. During the time she spent tending to the needs of those who were dying, Bronnie's life was transformed. Today, we are re-visiting one of my favorite podcast episodes, which is my conversation with Bronnie Ware, the former palliative nurse from Australia who wrote the blog post, Top 5 Regrets of the Dying, which went viral and eventually went on to become a bestselling book. Here are their top 5 regrets:I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life that others expected of me.I wish I hadn't worked so hard.I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.I wish that I had let myself be happier. How she came to be a palliative care nurse was fascinating, as it was very much happenstance. In short, Bronnie was just nomading, and she needed a place to stay, and the woman who offered her room and board ended up passing away shortly after, and Bronnie was there to help with her transition. And that's how she discovered her gift of presence.Give it a listen (or a re-listen).

Talk about pressure! LeBron says "mark my words" I will retire once I get a chance to play on son Bronnie's team. Now, he didn't exactly say NBA, so I'm guessing a 42 year old LeBron ain't gonna go play for Olympicos in Greece to make it happen. NOTORIOUS J-A-Y joins me to talk about Juwan Howard, K-Marts, the sad state of MD basketball, Rick Pitino, Lia Thomas, AirDropped teacher sex tapes, old school TV game shows, and of course, FTG!Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
