Tonight, the UFC showcased a Lightweight Super Fight in the main event. In that featured bout of the UFC 257 PPV card, which was broadcast from the Etihad Arena, #FIGHTISLAND, Abu Dhabi, UAE we had — POIRIER and MCGREGOR going at it for their much anticipated rematch bout. Returning to the octagon tonight, we had ‘The Notorious’ UFC lightweight brawler, Conor McGregor, with a 21-4 record, after a one-year break from UFC action. He took on Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier with his 26-6 record for the second time. The last time they met was at UFC 178 in Sept. of 2014. At the time, Poirier bested McGregor swiftly, via Punches at just 1:46 of the first round. But now, both men are very different people, as well as very different fighters, so we were likely to have a different outcome. In the co-main event, we had a Lightweight tilt between Dan ‘The Hangman’ Hooker, entering the octagon with a 20-8 record vs. UFC newcomer MIchael ‘Iron’ Chandler, who was making his long-anticipated UFC debut tonight - since leaving Bellator MMA last fall. Also on the card, we had an exciting women’s Flyweight bout taking place between America’s Jessica ‘Evil’ Eye and the Scottish brawler Joanne ‘Bad MOFO’ Calderwood. Both ladies were coming at this off a loss; Eye having been defeated by Cynthia Calvillo back in June, 2020... While Calderwood was handed her defeat from Jennifer Maia in August, 2020. Carla Esparza (aka Cookie Monster) is one of the strongest most badass MMA fighters in the strawweight division of the UFC. She is on a 4 fight win streak with her most recent win on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.  She holds the record for the most takedowns in women’s UFC history.
