One century ago on Memorial Day — Friday, May 30, 1924 — the campus community gathered to dedicate a permanent landmark honoring former Notre Dame students who had died in or as a result of the Great War. Today, the east entrance of the Basilica has the familiar phrase “God, Country, Notre Dame” engraved above the oaken double doors and is known affectionately as the World War I Memorial Door.Celebrate the spirit of this special anniversary as we honor and remember members of our Notre Dame family who gave their lives. We are mindful of the ways the simple phrase “God, Country, Notre Dame” has become a rallying cry, and how the World War I Memorial Door has become an iconic place of pilgrimage and a symbol of faith, patriotism, and loyalty to all who love Notre Dame. Our speaker lineup is a shining example of the “God, Country, Notre Dame” ethos – just like Fr. Dear listeners, please pray for the repose of the soul of Fr Ted Santiago who died aged 51 on 31 January after a painful battle with cancer which he bore with heroic faith. We add with this message the prayer which Fr Ted wrote and prayed only days before his death. Ordained in 2005, Fr Ted was from the Philippines and was one of the first priests to join the 10 Minutes with Jesus preaching team and only stopped when his sickness impeded him from continuing. We are confident he will be a great intercessor for 10 Minutes with Jesus and its listeners. He was a faithful man of God, cheerful, with a great sense of humor, and dedicated to souls. We will be republishing on February 5th a meditation he preached precisely on the theme of suffering. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

For many pastors, leading multiple church communities has become a reality that they have to navigate. Learning how to do this effectively can oftentimes be challenging! Every church has its own struggles and unique situations, and finding a healthy balance and leading effectively in each context can be tough for leaders. What does it look like to remain faithful to God's calling while wearing multiple hats and supporting multiple communities in the role of Pastor? Fr. Ted Mauch is walking that journey right now, and in this episode, he shares some of what he's been learning and how he's stewarding the churches that God has given him to care for. __ Connect with Huntley Leadership! Today Cynthia wants you to get to know Fr. Ted Paraskevopoulos. Almost 5 years ago, he realized that he needed to make some big changes in his life for his health, relationships, work, and family. How did he do this? Today you'll find out! This is a good podcast for all of us, but it also may be especially for any younger priests out there who need some ideas on how to be their best while serving God and the Church. Rev. Fr. Theodore (Ted) Paraskevopoulos B.Th., Ma.Th., D.Min. (ABD) Fr. Ted has been serving in our Archdiocese since 2006 where he was ordained a deacon and served the communities of Saint Nicolas Greek Orthodox Church in Scarborough and Prophet Elias in Mississauga. It was at Prophet Elias that Fr. Ted was ordained a priest, and then was sent to his first community of Saint Demetrius in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After serving for six years in Winnipeg, Fr. Ted returned to Toronto and assumed the leadership of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, where he continued to serve for the next 8 1/2 years. Fr. Ted has a bachelor of theology from the Patriarchal Toronto Orthodox Theological Academy, his masters of arts in theology from Saint Vladimir Orthodox Theological Seminary in New York and is currently finishing his doctoral thesis under the same institution. Fr. Ted is married to his wife, Joanna, and has three children; twins Katerina , and George, and a younger son Angelo.

Notre Dame has a long and strong tradition of service and being a force for good.Fr. Hesburgh's commitment to serving others was the seed that grew into impactful service initiatives – both in our community and on a global scale. His leadership and personal example offered thousands of students the opportunity to come away with “the experience and knowledge that young people, all people, can do good for others less fortunate, and in so doing reap the personal gratification and satisfaction of knowing they have helped their fellow men.” Be inspired by our speaker lineup of alumni and faculty who are shining examples of service – just like Fr. This is directed by the same man responsible for Fr Ted and Ted Lasso! Sarah Goldberg and Susan Stanley joined Dermot and Dave to chat about their new TV show called 'Sisters'
Fr. Ted Vitali, professor of philosophy and Passionist priest, tells us how he has come to see the Jesuit mission at SLU alive and well over the years--with a word or two of recommendation for how to strengthen it moving forward.
Fr. Ted Paraskevopoulos is an Orthodox Priest in Toronto, Ontario Canada.Speaking with Fr Ted is always very insightful and grounding, to say the least. Given everything that's happening in the world right now, I felt a need to have a conversation with him.We spoke about a wide-range of topics, including:- Tools that people are missing in their lives to help with depression and every day stresses- How parents should instil the right values in their children - Why more couples are getting divorced, and how they can prevent that- The attack on religion in a growing secular societyI also wanted to hear Fr Ted's views on several controversial bills and legislation currently in, or being proposed, in Canada:- Bill C-11 and how it could impact the church and religion- Bill 89 and the growing sexualization of children in society- The issues with Bill C-4 from a religious and moral context- MAID (medical assistance in dying) and the relation to hedonism
