Brad Stevens and the Celtics have their heart set on doing something NBA defenders have a hard time doing--locking up Jaylen Brown. The 5-year supermax extension for which he is eligible still hasn't been signed, though. Ron and Guillermo discuss past supermax players who ended up getting shipped out of town, and discuss what Jaylen and the Celtics might agree to in order to get this deal signed. Plus, the Celtics sign Jay Scrubb to a 2-way deal...and is Rob Williams developing into a jump shooter? #Celtics #JaylenBrown #JayScrubb #BradStevens #AustinRivers #Porzingis #JaysonTatum #Celtics #NBAFreeAgency #supermax #Boston #RobWilliams
We've got Justin Trombino from The Celtics Files joining us today to talk everything Summer League. We talk about rookie Jordan Walsh signing his 4 year deal and Banton who also is on a standard NBA contract. We also talk about Jay Scrubb and JD Davison on their 2-Way deals alongside our picks for that third spot! Who gets it? You'll have to listen! The Celtics fall to the Knicks 97-89 and fall to 1-3 this Summer League. Unlike the regular season where the only thing that matters is the result, in Summer League the process is the important part and the result doesn't really matter. In Summer League you want to see how guys play, who can do what and does that fit into what the Boston Celtics are trying to do. Banton and Walsh both played well in this one as the only 2 on guaranteed contracts. Davison, who is on a 2-Way already, didn't look very good. Now there are still two 2-Way deals left to be signed and my guy Jay Scrubb put together another solid performance proving that one of them should go his way. Champagnie was another one who willed this team to a near comeback with 12pts in the second half as he was raining 3s. The Celtics have one more Summer League game and then it's time to make some decisions on these guys. This page is also brought to you by George Dimis at PD Properties.
