On Weds, February 18th Live Episode #651 of the New Media Show, Rob Greenlee, Host, 2017 Podcast Hall of Famer and CEO of Trust Factor Lab at https://RobGreenlee.com, and James Cridland, Editor, https://Podnews.net and 2026 Podcast Hall of Famer discuss Apple's announcement of a new and improved video podcast experience in the Apple Podcasts app and what it changes technically and strategically heading into 2026. They explain how video was previously active in Apple Podcasts but was hidden and poorly presented in the iOS apps, and how this new updated experience makes video playback front and center, with a “turn video off” option that keeps the audio track playing. The episode breaks down Apple's preferred move to HLS-based on-demand video delivery (via a separate, proprietary API HLS video streaming pass-through submission from approved hosting partners) while still supporting legacy MP4 video via RSS. They cover HLS basics (chunked delivery, adaptive quality, reduced bandwidth, and hosting costs), improved seeking/scrubbing versus progressive MP4 playback, and new measurement implications (better insight into drop-off and ad viewing). A major focus is monetization: Apple plans to enable dynamic ad insertion for HLS video and charge a per-impression fee, positioning Apple to take revenue without operating an ad business. The conversation notes early launch partners (Acast, Art19, Omny Studio, Simplecast), questions about specs and rollout timing (an app update is likely by the end of March; dynamic ad features later in the year), and the risk of platform fragmentation as distribution shifts from open RSS to proprietary APIs. James and Rob discuss alternate enclosures (Podcasting 2.0) as an open path to wider app support, reference iHeart's stated support for video via RSS alternate enclosures, and highlight creator concerns about losing separate audio edits when video replaces the audio feed during playback. They also touch on device support (not initially on Apple TV; CarPlay doesn't show video; Vision Pro support) and briefly discuss future RSS innovation ideas like comments, payments, transcripts, and location tags, plus a short note on upcoming podcast events (Podcast Show London, Podcast Movement New York, Podcast Movement at SXSW). As Amanda's sabbatical begins, we are revisiting previous episodes of the podcast. This week marked the 5th anniversary of the January 6 attack on the Capitol. In today's episode of Respecting Religion, hear a conversation two years after the attack. Amanda and Holly share their reactions to the report released by the January 6 Select Committee at the end of 2022, including the lack of any mention of Christian nationalism and why that matters. They also discuss the importance of Christian leaders providing an alternative witness in 2023 to the Christian nationalism exhibited during the attack on the Capitol. And, they review how the insurrection still shapes our world and how it – surprisingly – doesn't shape Capitol tours. This program originally aired on January 12, 2023, in season 4 of Respecting Religion. SHOW NOTES This episode was originally broadcast as episode 10 of season 4 in 2023. For another conversation about January 6 and Christian nationalism, check out S3, Ep. 12 from 2022. Segment 1 (starting at 01:06): The Select Committee Report Read the final report of the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol. We played a clip compiling three individuals' statements during the January 6 hearings claiming the Constitution was divinely inspired: Greg Jacob, Rusty Bowers, and Rep. Liz Cheney. See the video on Amanda's Twitter (now X) account. The comprehensive BJC/Freedom From Religion Foundation report on Christian nationalism and the January 6, 2021 insurrection is available online. Click here to read the letter organized by BJC and Christians from Christian Nationalism to the Select Committee, asking them to investigate how Christian nationalism motivated and intensified the attack. Watch Amanda's testimony about Christian nationalism before a House subcommittee in December 2022 at this link. Amanda and Holly discuss it in more detail in episode 9 of season 10. Amanda and Holly mentioned this article by Vera Bergengruen for TIME Magazine: Why a Group of Christians Is Fighting the Growing Threat of Christian Nationalism Additional media coverage on the absence of Christian nationalism from the final report: Despite ample evidence, Christian nationalism mostly absent from final Jan. 6 report by Jack Jenkins for Religion News Service Christian nationalism conspicuously absent from January 6 report, featuring an interview with Amanda Tyler and MSNBC's Alicia Menendez on the Alex Wagner Tonight program Segment 2 (starting at 21:01): Contrasting images on the 2nd anniversary of January 6 After this podcast was first released, BJC created a compilation of clips from the 2023 prayer vigil, which you can watch on BJC's YouTube channel. See BJC's photos of the prayer vigil in this Instagram post. There are also photos still online from Getty Images and Reuters at the vigil. Watch this short compilation of the two events on January 6, 2023, on the @EndChristianNationalism TikTok. You can follow the Christians Against Christian Nationalism campaign on Instagram and TikTok at the handle @EndChristianNationalism. Segment 3 (starting at 29:29): Scrubbing the insurrection from Capitol tours Amanda and Holly discussed this story from The Washington Post by Joe Heim: Official U.S. Capitol tour guides told to only mention Jan. 6 if asked Respecting Religion is made possible by BJC's generous donors. You can support these conversations with a gift to BJC.
What does biblical manhood actually look like? Spoiler: it's not what you've been told. This sermon explores the story of Joseph—a carpenter who had every reason to walk away from Mary's inexplicable pregnancy but chose something more difficult: solidarity, humility, and embracing mystery over control. Pastor Tonetta draws from the metaphor of a Korean spa scrub to explore what we need to shed during Advent: patriarchy disguised as righteousness, charity that keeps us comfortable instead of solidarity that costs us something, and the false hope of optimism that crumbles when things go sideways. Joseph's power wasn't in control—it was in his subversive tenderness and willingness to not be the main character. If you're exhausted by shallow positivity and wondering what real hope looks like when the world feels dark, this is for you. Includes questions to sit with whether you hold privilege or need to ask for more support.
The growing involvement of national security and intelligence agencies in reviewing and redacting the Epstein files fundamentally undermines the long-standing claim that Jeffrey Epstein was merely a lone predator. Intelligence agencies do not involve themselves in routine criminal disclosures, and their presence signals the protection of intelligence equities, not administrative convenience. If Epstein had no intelligence relevance, the DOJ and FBI could have handled the material through standard procedures, as they do in countless other high-profile abuse cases. Instead, the scale and secrecy of the operation, described by experienced sources as unprecedented, suggest that the files intersect with sensitive intelligence relationships, operations, or foreign ties. The behavior of the system itself contradicts the public narrative, revealing that Epstein's case is being treated as a national security concern rather than a closed criminal matter. This extraordinary response reframes Epstein's entire history, from his unexplained protection and lenient treatment to the sustained institutional anxiety surrounding disclosure years after his death. Intelligence agencies exist to guard sources, methods, and networks, not to assist with transparency, and their heavy involvement points to fear of what documentation might expose rather than concern for victims alone. Critics who continue to dismiss intelligence connections as speculation increasingly find themselves at odds with observable facts, as redactions, delays, and interagency coordination speak louder than official denials. The lone-predator narrative collapses under the weight of this conduct, replaced by a far more troubling possibility: that Epstein functioned as an intelligence asset whose exposure threatens systems far larger than himself.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

In this episode, Graeme Daniels, author and psychoanalyst, ruminates on working with adolescents, being an adolescent, and just plain thinking about adolescence through the prisms of art and psychoanalysis: conjuring rock and roll, D.W. Winnicott, Shakespeare, surfing on an open sea, or else being disrupted by the sounds of grinding lead.

You don't need to change your life—you just need to notice it. Join me as we remember how to rejoice in the ordinary, and in doing so, discover what it really means to be alive. Because the garden you walk through tomorrow depends on the choices you make today.
In episode 334, Steve explains what negative air and air scrubbing entails. Negative air is essential during mold remediation to prevent cross contamination. Negative air is the process of pulling all the air from inside the containment (work area) and discharging outside. Air scrubbing is the process of filtering the air inside the containment while work isn't being performed. In simple terms, we air scrub at night while the remediation crews are offsite. Negative air is something we do while removing the mold during the work day. Negative air is crucial when it comes to mold removal. If your remediation contractor isn't using negative air while removing mold, find another contractor! We appreciate all of you and hope you're doing well and staying safe! Have a great week.

Anyone lucky enough to have seen Wim Wenders' 2023 masterpiece Perfect Days is familiar with the dignity of professional Japanese toilet cleaners. Mark Eltringham, the publisher of the excellent future of work newsletter Workplace Insight, hasn't seen Wenders' movie, but he is nonetheless sympathetic to the dignity of the armies of invisible workers paid to clean up our mess - from those who tidy up offices to to those who scrub public toilets. We conveniently ignore this precariat, Eltringham argues, when it comes to imagining the impact of AI on jobs. While tech elites debate hybrid schedules and productivity algorithms, these essential workers remain largely untouched by automation's promises and threats, establishing a convenient myopia in our understanding of work's future. So next time you go to your office or use a public bathroom, Eltringham suggests spare a thought for the professionals who made the experience palatable - and ask yourself why it's their voices that are missing from our mostly privileged and solipsistic AI centric conversations about the future of work. 1. The "Solipsism Problem" in Work DiscourseEltringham argues that workplace conversations about AI, remote work, and the "death of the office" suffer from solipsism - knowledge workers project their own experiences onto the entire workforce, ignoring that these discussions only apply to maybe 30-40% of workers.2. AI's Uneven Impact Across Job TypesWhile tech elites debate AI's productivity effects, vast numbers of workers - from toilet cleaners to factory workers - remain largely untouched by automation. The AI revolution is primarily a knowledge worker phenomenon, not a universal workplace transformation.3. The Return-to-Office ParadoxTech companies like Google and Microsoft led the push to get employees back into offices, despite having the most sophisticated remote work capabilities. This suggests that even digital-native companies see value in physical proximity that goes beyond mere productivity metrics.4. "Weak Ties" Matter More Than Water Cooler MomentsEltringham dismisses the clichéd "water cooler conversation" argument for offices, arguing instead that the real value lies in "weak ties" - the informal networks that help you connect with people who know other people, creating problem-solving chains that are harder to replicate virtually.5. Work Culture Trumps Office DesignA good working culture in a badly designed office will make people happy, but a bad culture in a beautiful office won't. The focus on trendy office furniture and Silicon Valley-style spaces misses the point - relationships and culture matter more than design aesthetics.Keen On America is a reader-supported publication. In July 1980, the official magazine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints scrubbed an article that described the Anthon Transcript, supposedly what was given to Professor Anthon describing the lettering of the Gold Plates. The article discussed how LDS scholars were convinced this was real, and there was even an article from Mark Hoffman. Problem? Mark Hoffman was shown to be a forger and this manuscript was a fake! Thus, if you are finding the July 1980 Ensign magazine online using the church's website, you are not told several pages of the magazine are not a part of this anymore. Is this deceptive? Or is it allowed? Bill and Eric debate this as they discuss the fascinating story of Mark Hoffman.
