This man has a 5 year, 195 million dollar deal with the NBA. He was the 2019 #1 NBA Draft Pick. Has endorsement deals with Nike and Powerade. A beautiful baby girl. But it all has come while he is in his early 20s... Could that be the main issue? Are his friends to blame? Is the rapper NBA Youngboy and others like him to blame? Is social media to blame? Why does Ja Morant seem to be ungrateful. To most of us, he is clearly playing with his life. He is in a position that millions of people would kill to be in. What is he going through on the inside that has him out here with so many loose ends. Now more than ever, your social media footprint means everything. Act like you are being recorded at all times. Act like you have millions of haters that wanna see you lose. Act like you are a role model and an influential person to the young urban community BECAUSE YOU ARE!!! Never take this thing called life for granted. None of this is a joke. It can be here one day and gone the next... Given Qatar's support for Hamas terrorism against Israel, its creation of Al Jazeera as a propaganda arm, and its brutal treatment of its foreign workers, critics have questioned how the country was able to secure such a high-profile tournament. But after the games conclude, the questions will remain: will being awarded the World Cup enable its extremism, or will it help to moderate the oil-rich kingdom? For his perspective on this, we are joined on this week's podcast by Tal Brody. Tal is an Israeli former professional basketball player and current goodwill ambassador of Israel. Brody was drafted in the National Basketball Association (NBA) draft but chose to pass up an NBA career, to instead play basketball in Israel. Today, Tal is a sought-after speaker in the world of Israel and sport. Welcome to The Honest Report podcast. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thehonestreport/message

The Hornets took Ball with the third pick in Wednesday's draft. It caps an irreplicable journey that includes stops in the JBA, Lithuania, and Australia—and offers key insights into the future of player development. LaMelo's winding path then took him overseas, to two stops 10,000 miles apart. The first stop was Lithuania, wherein 2018 a 16-year-old Ball was too young and undeveloped to keep up with fully grown professionals. The second stop was Australia, where last season he played with the Illawarra Hawks of the National Basketball League. The ball was part of a larger group of college-aged prospects, including RJ Hampton, who signed in Australia, and the move helped Ball's stock soar. In our inaugural episode of Court-side Moms, we meet Edith Bennett, the mom of 2013 first overall draft pick Anthony Bennett. The 6’8” superstar had the world at his feet the night of June 27 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. He was the first Canadian to be drafted number one overall and his future in basketball seemed secure. What followed were years of disappointments, multiple trades and one last chance with the Houston Rockets. Tune in to hear about Anthony’s incredible journey from the perspective of his mother and how she has managed to cope with highs and lows of her son’s career while raising her three children as a single mother working two jobs. We also hear about the origins of MOPAA – Mothers of Professional Athletes Association, established to provide support and encouragement to other mothers and their children as they travel into the world of professional sports.

“Athletes are figuring out how to leverage who they are, where they came from, what they’re known for, and then how to make money off of that for the rest of their lives.” Professional athletes are faced with countless decisions, both on and off the field, and many struggle with the weight of making the right choices. My guest today, Lauren Walsh, is making a name for herself in a male-dominated industry, adding her secret sauce to directly help athletes with much of what happens off the field, especially regarding their branding, social impact, and how they are seen to the public. “It’s nothing to do with that he’s not intelligent or he didn’t have the schooling. The reality was that he had spent so much of his life focused on football, and some of the general life skills that we take for granted he just didn’t have.” We have all seen and read what happens to the reputations of some athletes when they are left unchecked and they unleash on social media, ruining their images and enormous earning potential. Lauren urges athletes to start managing their brand as early as possible, controlling how they are viewed, and setting themselves up for decades of continued financial rewards. “It’s not about the sales pitch, it’s not about me saying ‘Oh, I’m so good about this or I can do that’, it’s showing. Especially in the world of professional sports, show them where you add the value and everything else falls into place.” Throughout my chat with Lauren, you will be impressed with how poised, confident and knowledgeable she truly is within the branding and marketing space as it pertains to athletes, We talk about the importance of sending the right message, how your sales pitch is virtually irrelevant as long as you produce results, and how she was even tasked with getting an NFL star blinds for his new apartment once he was traded, just a small example of her versatility! You’ll enjoy this episode, give it a listen! “I encourage our clients to be who they are on social media- there’s nothing worse than when you see an inauthentic post- you know when someone else wrote it. However, if something happens, you have an idea or you make someone laugh, chances are there are over 1000 people on Twitter who are going to laugh with you too. Be yourself and understand there is going to be a market for that.” Some Topics we talk about in this episode: Introduction - 0:53 Building a Brand - 4:00 Mentoring Athletes at Purdue - 5:53 LW Branding is Born - 10:12 The First Big Moment for LW - 11:58 NBA Draft Pick is the First Client - 13:10 How LW Leveraged Her First Client 13:54 What the Expectations are of Your Agent 16:41 A Male Dominated Industry 18:54 The Weight of the Referral 20:38 Relationship Building 22:07 Build Your Brand Now 23:12 The Big Picture Guide 25:37 The Present and Future Clientele of LW 29:08 Guidelines of Social Media 32:00 Wrap-up and Takeaways - 33:00 How to get involved Be sure to connect with me on Social Media @MarkMoyerCoach and go to my website, www.markmoyer.com to get access to the tips and strategies that my coaching clients get directly.
