Emma Fitts is a Ōtautahi-based Interdisciplinary artist working amongst sculpture, photography, and textile installation. Drawing from an expanded painting practice in which the canvas is reimagined as an active material in itself, creating its own imagery and form while also behaving as its own support structure. Resulting in these immersive material rich spaces that contemplate architecture, textiles, queer history, feminism and memory. In her current exhibition at Melanie Roger Gallery, Emerald Pools Fitts explores the notions of memory through the revisitation of a work first exhibited in the courtyard at Objectspace (2022) as lapping at your door, and later reconfigured for the installation of The Air like a stone presented at The Physics Room (2023). The work then undertook another reconfiguration and is now back here in Tāmak at Melanie Roger Gallery, presented as Emerald Pools. Through each of its reconfigurations the work has built up this rich history, holding residue of its past lives and allowing the works memories of reconfiguration, weather exposure, and re-installation to become embedded within the work itself. Alongside the memory of the work's various iterations the work also holds the history of its own making process at its forefront. With Fitts purposefully exposing the works methods of construction through raw seams, and canvas folds. Shifting the viewers attention to not only the work itself but also the wider histories a work might hold. The show becomes a site of multiplicity, holding the work's accumulative history of its prior contexts, configurations, and surrounding dialogues. Maya caught up with Emma about the show and her overall practice.
Like so many people in the US, 32-year-old Nicole Fitts was struggling with housing insecurity. She worked at Best Buy in San Francisco, California and would often travel up to 4 hours a day to commute to work from wherever she was staying at the time. Sometimes the commute was so bad, Nicole would just crash on a couch until her next shift. This meant she would have to leave her two-year-old daughter Arianna with a babysitter for extended periods of time. This was the reality of trying to make ends meet for Nicole. Eventually, one of her coworkers noticed what Nicole was going through just to get to work each day and offered for her and Arianna to move in with her. Nicole was ecstatic. She scraped together enough money to get Arianna a new bed and told the babysitter she was coming to pick up her daughter. But she was met with resistance from the babysitter, saying they were out of town taking Arianna to Disneyland, she'd have to grab her daughter another day. Nicole was upset, obviously because she was ready to pick up her daughter but also because they didn't tell her they'd be taking Arianna out of town. According to Nicole's new roommate Goyette Williams, the plan was for Nicole to pick up her daughter on April 3rd, 2016. But on the night of April 1st, Nicole withdrew a large amount of money from her bank account, says she was going to meet the babysitter and would be back in 5 minutes. A week later, Nicole's body was found in a local park. Nicole's killer has never been caught and Arianna remains missing to this day. 32-year-old Nicole Fitts was found murdered in McLaren Park in San Francisco, California on April 8th 2016. She was a black female with black hair and brown eyes. Nicole's daughter, Arianna Fitts was last seen in Oakland California in February 2016. When she went missing, she was 2 years old, weighed approximately 45 pounds and was 2 feet tall. She is a black female with black hair and brown eyes. As of recording this episode, Arianna Fitts would now be 8 years old. The San Francisco Police Department is offering a $250,000 reward for information about Nicole and Arianna. And Best Buy is offering an additional $10,000 reward. If you see Arianna, call 911 immediately. If you have information on Arianna's whereabouts or anything related to the homicide of Nicole, contact the SFPD Homicide Unit at 415-553-1145, the SFPD Anonymous Tip Line at 415-575-4444, or text a tip to TIP 411 with SFPD at the beginning of the message, or visit sanfranciscopolice.org/tip. Send us Fan MailRob Fitts loves Japanese baseball and has been writing about it for years. His 10 books on baseball in Japan cover many aspects of the sport in the Land of the Rising Sun. Dr. Fitts joined Gordon and Mark to talk about his 2025 book "In the Japanese Ballpark" which is a series of vignettes covering aspects of what goes on during a NPB game. From players, to managers, to umpires, owners, fans, even beer girls, Fitts has a great feel for how to tell the story and explain Japanese baseball to fans outside of Japan. What this episode is about I'm doing something a little different today. I started a Substack a while ago and I've not been completely consistent with it (more on that in the episode). One thing I've been doing with some of my Substack articles is recording the voiceover, so I figured why not share it here on the podcast too. This is the audio from a recent article called "I've been a bit crap. And that's the whole point." and it's about the messy middle of getting good at anything new. If you've started a podcast, a newsletter, a Substack, a YouTube channel, a sales process, or any new skill in your business and quit because it felt awkward, this episode is for you. What you'll learn Why I started Substack even though writing isn't my flow (and the workaround I'm using to stay consistent) What Anna Mackenzie taught me about the long game on Substack (7 hours per article, 16K subscribers, and where most of her clients now come from) The Fitts and Posner three-stage model of learning (1967 research that still holds today) and why stage one is supposed to feel like trash The driving metaphor that makes all of this click The Dunning-Kruger effect and why your confidence crashes right when you start to actually get good Why most people quit at the exact moment they're about to break through The challenge for you this week: pick one thing you've been avoiding because you're not good at it yet, and do it badly on purpose If you're a female founder and service-based business owner who's ready to turn your invisible expertise into bold, profitable brand through identity-led positioning, content and sales strategy then let's connect! https://www.suzchadwick.com/amplify
Will the Royals manage Salvador Perez well the rest of this season? The Injury Expert Will Carroll joined the Big Show on Tuesday to discuss that situation, plus Richard Fitts having season-ending surgery, and notable injuries to Brendan Donovan and Edwin Diaz.
In this Conversion Monthly, Danny McMillan is joined by Dorian and Matt Kostan (no Sim this episode — he's on holiday) for a live, practical session on building brand-quality design systems fast and for free. Dorian opens with a tight crash course in the three design fundamentals that separate professional Amazon listings from amateur ones: font pairing, grid and layout, and colour theory. He then demos Google Stitch live, building a full design system from a wooden utensil listing in real time. Danny shows a more automated route — using Perplexity to control Stitch autonomously and generate a complete brand kit from just a product title, bullet points, and a reference image. Matt rounds it off with a live Product Pinion split test of the new designs against the original listing — and the results deliver the session's sharpest lesson. The big takeaway: pretty is not enough. Information + design working together is what converts. Key Topics Google Stitch for brand design — Free AI design tool that generates full brand guidelines, font pairings, and mockups from reference images and prompts 3 design fundamentals every seller should know — Font pairing, grid and layout, colour theory with a contrasting action colour Perplexity + Stitch autonomous workflow — Danny demos letting Perplexity control Stitch end-to-end with zero manual input to generate a full brand kit Coolers.co — Free colour palette tool with a visualiser and AI colour bot (Matt) UX and design laws applied to Amazon — Miller's Law, Fitts' Law, Jacob's Law, Occam's Razor translated into listing and brand site decisions Product Pinion live split test — New designed variants vs the original listing, with real shopper results in under 10 minutes Live test result — The original information-heavy image outperformed the prettier redesigns early on; lesson: strip information at your peril Timestamps [00:00] Intro — Danny opens, Sim is out, format overview [00:48] Dorian: Why most Amazon listings lack design consistency [02:00] The 3 design principles: font pairing, grid/layout, colour theory [04:30] Font pairing explained — serif vs sans-serif, how world-class brands use them [07:00] Colour theory — complementary colours plus one contrasting action colour [08:30] Live Google Stitch demo — wooden utensil set, design system generated from brand brief + images [10:00] Stitch output: colour palette, font pairings, layout mockups [12:17] Matt: brand guidelines used to cost $1,000+ — now free in Stitch [13:00] Dorian: live Figma iteration — cleaning up the infographic using new design system fonts [17:00] Matt: information hierarchy lesson — measurements vs benefits on infographics [19:30] Dorian: "mouse text" and anchoring — what to leave in, what to strip out [20:33] Matt: Coolers.co overview — free colour palette generator and visualiser [22:00] Matt: UX/UI design principles applied to Product Pinion and Amazon listings [25:12] Danny: Perplexity + Stitch autonomous brand kit demo — Z Kitchen brand from scratch [27:00] Z Kitchen outputs: design system, A+ content, infographic, lifestyle mockups, packaging concepts [31:00] How to iterate inside Stitch — refine vs reimagine, varying only specific elements, up to 5 variants [36:00] Danny: UX design laws — Miller's Law, Fitts' Law, Jacob's Law, Occam's Razor [40:00] Danny: Typography slides — spacing systems, layout balance, font families [43:32] Dorian: reveals three redesigned variants ready for split test [44:35] Matt: launches live Product Pinion test — 50 shoppers, cooking category targeting [47:33] Live results coming in — original listing leading over new designs [48:00] Dorian: "pretty is one thing but the information has to be there" [49:00] Danny: design and information are two separate layers — both are required [51:30] Product Pinion API + Claude integration teaser [52:36] Final results and wrap-up — test completed in ~10 minutes with 50 real shoppers [53:44] Closing thoughts and Seller Sessions Live preview (26 days out) Key Takeaways Three principles separate professional listings from amateur ones — font pairing (serif + sans-serif), grid and layout (hierarchy: 1, 2, 3), and colour (complementary base + one contrasting action colour). Google Stitch is the best free tool right now for design mockups — unlike image generators (Gemini, GPT), Stitch understands design principles and generates layout-aware mockups you can iterate on. Pretty does not convert on its own — the live test showed the original, information-heavy image outperforming the cleaner redesigns early. Design is a layer on top of strong product information, not a replacement for it. Perplexity can run Stitch autonomously — paste a product title, bullet points, and a reference image; let it loop through Stitch without touching anything; come back to a full brand kit. You can test design variations with 50 real shoppers in under 10 minutes — Product Pinion lets you run image split tests with category-targeted shoppers, get qualitative feedback, and iterate the same day. Nano Banana outputs in Stitch cannot be regenerated — switch to one of the standard models if you need variation or refinement controls. AI gets you to the concept stage fast — use Stitch to generate the direction, then hand to a designer for finishing. Revision cycles and meetings shrink dramatically. Notable Quotes "If everything is important, nothing really is." — Dorian "The hardest thing is to make something simple, elegant, and something that people get instantly." — Dorian "Pretty is one thing, but the information has to be there. I didn't put the information there — and it's not doing well." — Dorian (on live split test results) "Most people don't necessarily know good design, but they know what they like. It's more of a feel — they go, that looks a bit cheap, or that looks really good." — Danny McMillan "It's never been easier and faster to become a world-class brand on design. Plug in your details, get a design guide going, and you can really up your brand in a very short period of time." — Matt Kostan "The breakout brands from the Amazon community — we haven't had enough of them crossing over. Now that gap's closed." — Danny McMillan Resources Mentioned Google Stitch — Free AI design tool; generates brand guidelines, font pairings, mockups, A+ content concepts, and layout variations. Up to 3,000 generations per day (free) Figma — Design tool used by Dorian to pull Stitch outputs and refine layouts manually Adobe Color (color.adobe.com) — Colour palette exploration and complementary colour tool; used in the live demo for the wood/blue beach-forest palette Coolers.co — Free colour palette generator with AI colour bot and real-world visualiser Pinterest — Recommended for browsing font pairing inspiration Nano Banana 2 — Image generation model available inside Stitch; note: regeneration/variation controls don't work on Nano Banana outputs Perplexity — Used to autonomously control Google Stitch via browser automation, building a full brand kit end-to-end from a single prompt Product Pinion — Consumer research and split testing tool by Matt Kostan; image tests with real shoppers, category targeting, results in minutes. Product Pinion API + Claude integration in development. Guest Info Dorian — Design and conversion specialist, Seller Sessions Conversion Monthly co-host Matt Kostan — Founder of Product Pinion, consumer research and split testing for Amazon sellers
In this episode, Marlies Dekkers sits down with former investment banker and Assistant Secretary of Housing, Catherine Austin Fitts, for a deep dive into the shifting global power structures of 2026.Fitts analyzes the recent release of millions of pages from the Epstein files, suggesting the timing is no coincidence but a calculated move in a larger geopolitical "re-engineering." She argues that we are moving toward a "Digital Control Grid": a system built on three pillars: programmable money, digital IDs, and a massive surveillance infrastructure. From the $55 trillion missing from the US government to the parallels between pandemic lockdowns and modern energy crises, Fitts connects the dots between financial policy and the erosion of local sovereignty. She also offers practical advice on how to build bottom-up resiliency through local food systems, analog backups, and the continued use of physical cash.Steun DNWMaak het geluid van de Nieuwe Wereld mogelijk. BEST OF: Catherine Austin Fitts, former assistant secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President George H.W. Bush, recently commented on how the US Government is responsible for $21-Trillion in “unauthorized spending” between 1998 and 2015 alone. This was documented by Mark Skidmore of Michigan State University in 2017. Catherine believes much of it went into “underground base and city infrastructure and transportation systems” that have already been built. A Washington Post article in 2010 documented the Hidden World of a massively complex national security and intelligence network infrastructure built across the country in the wake of 911. But that's only part of it, and only encompasses the decade between 2001 and 2010 - not to mention the $2.3-Trillion announced missing one day before 911 and the justification to build this infrastructure. It doesn't include the half a century of public and private construction projects for military command centers like NORAD at Cheyenne Mountain or VIP bunkers under Greenbrier Resort. Some of this is for military control, others for continuity of government, and still others for laboratories perhaps akin to the Hive, or simply for nuclear material storage. In fact NASA just found a decommissioned facility in Greenland that was home to Camp Century and Project Iceworm. All of this spending coupled with authorized military spending adds up to over half of the country's national debt. Many of these bunkers, command centers, facilities, etc., have price tags that in order to add up to the unauthorized trillions must be beyond vast, they must be numerous beyond what we can conceive. And these facilities are worldwide, likely under the ocean as much as they are buried into mountains. The wealthy are also building their own bunkers toady, some of which are luxury facilities. Then there are facilities built right under our feet and meant for flood preparations, like the G-Cans in Tokyo. There are also reports of odd booms and explosions hear around the world for several decades. Some is probably atmospheric, part is geological, and others are possible a result of these projects. *The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. And farewell to Jim Duckworth, Tom Timmermann, Dave Morehead, and George Altman.
I'm happy to share with you my recent interview with Dr. Mark Skidmore, an economics professor at Michigan State University who worked with Catherine Austin Fitts to investigate industrial-scale fraud taking place within the books of two massive federal agencies: the Department of Defense and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. They discovered TRILLIONS of unaccounted transactions, suggesting not only massive fraud but, at this scale, most likely also the existence of a secret parallel financial system, which finances the buildout of a massive underground complex of black projects. Upon the publication of their research, the federal government responded by implementing a new accounting rule that now exempts federal agencies from disclosing sensitive financial transactions - a move that has rendered the US financial system completely non-transparent and unaccountable (and therefore, undemocratic)Table of Contents:00:00 How Alex started investigating the topic of the Missing Trillions08:16 How Dr. Skidmore began researching the Missing Trillions and what he and Fitts discovered31:42 A discussion of the implications of the Missing Trillions34:49 How do they Missing Trillions interface with the UFO issue?44:59 Was Nazi Germany's secret weapons think tank (“The Kammlerstab”) the prototype for what was later built in America?47:51 Covid Retrospective

Today on Ascend: The Great Books Podcast, Dcn. Harrison Garlick, Dr. Tiffany Schubert of Wyoming Catholic College, George of the Chivalry Guild, and Banished Kent discuss Fitts 2 and 3 of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight!Visit thegreatbookspodcast.com for our reading schedule!Check out our 50 QUESTION-AND-ANSWER GUIDE to Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.Be sure to visit our sister publication, THE ASCENT, for Christian spirituality.Episode SummaryThe panel continues the Christmas reading of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, exploring Fitts 2 and 3 with Dr. Tiffany Schubert. The discussion covers the meditative passage of time, Gawain's elaborate armor and pentangle, his wilderness journey, arrival at the lord's castle, and the three bedroom temptations mirroring the lord's hunts. Themes of courtesy versus Christian prudence, the unexpected location of peril, and human imperfection dominate. Why Sir Gawain and the Green Knight Is Worth ReadingThis poem masterfully redirects chivalric expectations from martial heroism to internal trials of temperance and fidelity, using irony, humor, and subtle symbolism to expose the tensions within knighthood itself. As Dr. Schubert notes, it brings readers “back down into this world”—a murky, incarnate place of comfort and laughter where true danger often hides—while probing whether Christian virtue can govern or perfect courtly ideals. Rich in liturgical resonance, Marian devotion, and realistic grace, it humanizes the heroic quest, making it profoundly relevant for reflecting on temptation, fear, and humility during the Christmas season.Key Discussion PointsTime & Seasons: Opening meditation on cyclical yet forward-moving time; Gawain's lingering and All Hallows' departure as liturgical reflection on mortality.Armor & Pentangle: Lavish buildup of Gawain's gear and “endless knot” (five sets of five perfections, piety surpassing all) as outward ideal—quickly deflated as armor is removed.Mary Inside the Shield: Hidden source of strength and piety governing the public projection of perfection.Wilderness to Castle: Dismissal of monster battles; castle as surprising “answer” to Marian prayer—Providence working through murky, tempting paths.Second Christmas Game: Bertilak's exchange of winnings parallels the first deadly game, shifting peril to courtesy and domestic temptation.Three Temptations & Hunts: Parallel structure—doe (subtle), boar (fierce), fox (cunning); Gawain resists lust admirably but accepts/conceals girdle out of fear of death.Courtesy vs. Christian Prudence: Repeated bedroom returns (no Joseph-like flight) prolong exposure, allowing lady to exploit deeper flaw—courtesy overriding removal from sin.Confession Ambiguity: Post-girdle absolution raises questions of self-awareness and lingering human frailty.

Their ongoing survey reveals the lived reality: sponsors banning words like woman, Black, or transgender; coaches torn between revenue and values; clients covering core parts of identity to stay safe.We trace the deeper patterns driving these shifts—fear, zero-sum thinking, and the belief that inclusion takes something away from those in power. Amber and Sukari bring decades of global DEI and leadership experience to show how cultural intelligence, identity transparency, and brave conversations actually fuel performance and belonging. They challenge us to reframe “confidentiality as loophole” and instead elevate ethical contracting: clarify roles with sponsors and clients, interrogate who set the restrictions and why, and co-create agreements that keep the space safe and brave without breaking your word. You'll leave with practical steps you can use today: prepare values-based red lines, negotiate language with clarity, document expectations up front, and revisit your ICF or EMCC code of ethics to ensure your practice aligns with your promises. Coaching with DEIAB in mind isn't a niche—it's simply good coaching. If the policy narrows the conversation, let your courage, clarity, and craft widen it so trust can do the work it's meant to do.If this conversation resonates, follow the show, share it with a coach who needs it, and leave a review so more practitioners can find these tools.Watch the full interview by clicking here. Well this was as fun an episode to do as (we hope) it is for you to listen to. In Arthur's Corner he talks Dandy's World, getting over illness and his return to school as well as his recent popularity as a young transman on Threads. The rest of the Laura suggested show we discuss Clara Barton, her life as a young, possibly neurodivergent woman, how she grew up with only one close friend and the love of her family leading to her first career as a school teacher and someone who created the public school system in Bordentown New Jersey. The people of Bordentown were so impressed, they made a brand new school building and gave the job of principal to a man from out of state whom they paid double her salary. She left and joined the US Patent Office in Washington DC which led to her becoming a battlefield nurse during the Civil War and founding the American Red Cross. After leaving the Red Cross, the founded the National First Aid Association of America and continued public speaking almost right up to her death at 90 years old. She was a woman with no give, no quit who always pivoted towards purpose, so check out this amazing woman in this, the latest episode of the Family Plot Podcast!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/family-plot--4670465/support.

Catherine Austin Fitts, former assistant secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President George H.W. A former government official who served under George H.W. Bush's administration said during a recent interview on the Tucker Carlson podcast that the U.S. government has secretly diverted $21 trillion toward a project to build underground cities, along with transportation systems that connect them. The underground facilities, according to Catherine Austin Fitts, who served as the assistant secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the administration of the senior George Bush, were built as a place for the rich and powerful to hide out during a major catastrophe.
