Dale Earnhardt Jr. spends a little extra time with his Amazon Prime broadcast booth partners Adam Alexander and Steve Letarte on this week's episode of the Dale Jr. Download. After an adventurous trip to Mexico City this past weekend, the three had a lot of notes to compare on their respective experiences. The guys marveled at the state of the art Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez facility and how the stadium section provided a unique, grandiose feeling to the race weekend. They also share stories about working with their producers and how gratifying it is to receive positive feedback throughout a production for their racing insight. The three discuss how intimidating a television compound can be and how comforting it is that so many members of the NBC crew were part of the Prime productions. They also look forward to their upcoming time on TNT and anticipate what will be different when the move is made back to a network as opposed to streaming. The conversation takes a look at the Playoffs picture and how its changed with Shane Van Gisbergen's Mexico City victory, as well as the ongoing RIcky Stenhouse/Carson Hocevar feud. They also answer questions in an “Ask The Booth” segment, sharing what their go-to booth snacks are, thoughts on the In-Season Tournament & the funniest moment that has happened to them on air this season. The Indiana Pacers shocked a lot of people last season! From their run to the championship game of the inaugural In-Season Tournament to an appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals. What can we expect from them this year? Alex Golden of the Setting The Pace podcast stops by to let us know! Alex breaks down everything that fell in place last season to allow for such a huge improvement from the previous year. He also talks about the role Tyrese Haliburton bursting onto the scene played in that and how much more Hali can improve moving forward. Has he recovered from the injuries that affected him in the playoffs and will his experience with Team USA help propel him to a new level? From there, we look at what held them back from succeeding even more last year. We know Indiana puts up a ton of points, but they gave up a lot in return. How much of that was scheme and personnel versus effort? How good do they need to be on that end of the court to succeed? And what is Alex hearing from Rick Carlisle's crew about their plans to improve this season? Alex also tells us what to expect from the Pacers rotation this year. They have a lot of young talent and depth, particularly on the wing. How does Coach Carlisle plan to balance development versus winning? And what is it about Jarace Walker, Aaron Nesmith, and Ben Sheppard in particular that has Alex excited about their futures? We finish up with Alex's predictions for this season. What does a successful season look like for Indiana? Who should be the #1 option between Tyrese and Pascal Siakim? And which player does Alex think will play a much bigger role than people expect in the success of the team? Tap in for that and more! Have the Phoenix Suns shed the skin of recent disappointments? While the Suns are bringing back the same Big 3 of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, along with many of their same role players in Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neale, they also made some significant changes over the offseason, bringing in a traditional point guard in Tyus Jones, role players like Monte Morris and Mason Plumlee, new rookies in Ryan Dunn and Oso Ighodaro, a new head coach in coach Mike Budenholzer, a new G League team, new uniforms with the new City Edition jerseys paying homage to the purple 1995 NBA All-Star jerseys, and a new In-Season Tournament court. Espo and Gerald Bourguet discuss whether all these changes will allow this team to turn the page on a new era of Suns basketball! Plus, the PHNX Suns Podcast crew ranks all 30 City Edition jerseys for the 2024-25 NBA season before wrapping up the show by paying homage to Diana Taurasi as the GOAT approaches what might be her final regular-season home game for the Phoenix Mercury. The Lakers may not have been playing truly inspired basketball, the kind that gets fans and media fired up and primed for the postseason, but they have, save that putrid stretch following the In-Season Tournament, won more than they've lost. Now, coming off a very impressive home win over the conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder, the Lakers face another test against a playoff-caliber team. But this time, the Sacramento Kings come in weaker than LA, having been in a weeks long semi-slump that has dropped them into the back half of the playoff bracket, only 1.5 games ahead of the Lakers. This is a big opportunity for the Lakers to gain ground on a vulnerable squad, and give themselves a shot to hold the tiebreaker over the Kings, which could obviously come in handy by the end of the year. Lose, and that goes out the window (Sacramento won the first two games of the season series, with both games coming very early in the year). So what do the Lakers need to watch out for? Start with three point shooting. The Kings take a ton of them, but some of their best shooters (De'Aaron Fox, Keegan Murray) are in big slumps right now. They need to keep it that way. In strength vs. weakness, the Kings both tend to put teams on the line a lot, and don't get there much themselves. That plays into strengths on both sides for LA they will certainly look to exploit. But fundamentally, we're going to spend a lot of time talking about Domantas Sabonis vs. Anthony Davis, because the Lakers need the OKC version of AD, as opposed to the Denver edition. But Sabonis is a matchup much closer to Nikola Jokic than Chet Holmgren. Finally... some good news about Gabe Vincent! He might be back faster than some expected. So what will the Lakers do with him once he returns? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Huge huge huge huge game against Sacramento tonight at the Crypt. AD needs to be big, again. SEGMENT 2: What to watch for. How can the Lakers exploit Sacramento's weaknesses?SEGMENT 3: What happens when Vincent returns? Because it's looking like he might, via Shams!
