And given all that potential, Jackson-Davis is determined to set a tone early on as a leader to make sure standards are high in Bloomington. On today's episode of Locked on Hoosiers, Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) looks at some very interesting quotes from Jackson-Davis that might have gone under the radar from his Zoom availability earlier this week. Jackson-Davis is clearly focused on maximizing success next season and is making sure everyone will be on the same page this season.Jackson-Davis' determination stems from the fact that this IU team will be as talented as just about any in recent memory. The 2015-16 team is an easy comparison to make with Jackson-Davis and Yogi Ferrell two very similar leaders going into their final seasons. The show wraps by looking at the 2012-13 team that was perhaps the most talented team since the last time the Hoosiers went to the national title game. With the NBA playoffs really getting into the swing of things, one former Indiana Hoosiers basketball player in OG Anunoby is shining. In an ever-expanding role with the Toronto Raptors, Anunoby continues to constantly improve. On today's episode of Locked on Hoosiers, Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) looks at the Hoosiers in professional basketball, ranging from the WNBA, the NBA and in the EuroCup as well. The individual season recap continues with a look at Jordan Geronimo and his season full of flashes of his big potential. In the WNBA, Ali Patberg was waived by the Indiana Fever after being drafted by them barely a week ago in a move that looks more and more like a potential publicity stunt. In the NBA, Anunoby is carrying his own in the Raptors playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers, even if Toronto is down 3-0. Neither Juwan Morgan nor Victor Oladipo can find action on the court but Yogi Ferrell is seeing a lot of time in Slovenia playing in the EuroCup.The show wraps by looking at the season from Geronimo, who showed lots of potential with his athleticism and strength mixed with some ability to knock down threes as well. Lucas, Rob, and Shap wrap up the Exit Interview Pod Series talking about the end of rotation players on this Clipper squad, including a couple of big men draft busts in Fi and Oturu, extra security guard point guard in Yogi, somewhat intriguing prospect in Jay Scrubb, a decent on paper prospect Malik Fitts, and possible actual end of the rotation guy in Amir Deja Brew Coffey.
In this incredible conversation we get Coach Tom Crean's take on the impact of N.I.L. on collegiate athletics, and then go back to hear how he fell in love with the game of basketball, thanks in no small part to Coach Knight and his undefeated 1976 team. From there we learn about his rise through the coaching ranks, and what it was like to marry into one of the great coaching families in all of sports, the Harbaughs. At last we get to Bloomington, where Coach Crean took the helm of an utterly annihilated IU basketball team, facing the biggest rebuild ever attempted by a blue blood college program. Undaunted after three years of intense struggle, in year four he delivered the greatest moment ever witnessed by an Assembly Hall crowd... the immortal Wat Shot. That watershed season ended with 3 wins over top 5 opponents and a thrilling run to the Sweet Sixteen, capped by Tom Crean being named ESPN National Coach of the Year. Finally we arrive at the 2012-13 season when Coach Crean brought Indiana all the way back with a beloved squad including Cody Zeller, Victor Oladipo, Yogi Ferrell, Jordan Hulls, Christian Watford, Will Sheehey and Derek Elston. Together they spent ten weeks as the #1 team in the country, winning the Hoosiers first outright Big Ten championship in 20 years and earning a #1 seed in the NCAA tourney.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
To leave Indiana University as a top-10 scorer in program history makes you a star. Graduating with more assists than anyone to ever play for IU makes you a legend. But to depart Bloomington having accomplished both of those feats… while winning two Big Ten titles… that makes you one of the absolute greatest Hoosiers of all-time. Toss in two Indiana high school championships from back in the day, plus just weeks ago inking a deal to play with the Los Angeles Clippers, and it should come as no surprise that the Hysterics are very, very, very excited to be speaking with Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell. The Kings' playoff hopes are dead. Portland's win eliminated the Kings and then the Kings were trounced, 129-112 by the Houston Rockets. It was Sacramento's latest display of bad defense in a disappointing end to the Kings' playoff hopes. Was this as bad last season's stumble to the finish? The Kings are 1-5 in the NBA bubble and have two more games to play for pride. The Kings have missed the postseason for 14 consecutive seasons, one short of matching the NBA record for missing the playoffs. It was enough to force Jason to sip whiskey as he and Kenny discussed how the Kings got to this point, again. With their season on the line, the Kings turned in one of their more disappointing efforts of the season in a 119-106 loss to the Brooklyn Nets Friday in Orlando. The Kings couldn't afford to lose another game, but a lackluster effort against the Nets means they will be eliminated from postseason contention if Portland wins Saturday. There was more talk of a lack of effort, which is inexcusable in this situation. It's been an issue all season, too. This isn't about coaching. This falls on the players on the court. The shorthanded Kings dominate Melbourne United at the Golden One Center to wrap up their 2019 preseason. Huge games from Marvin Bagley and Yogi Ferrell. Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic were both offered contract extensions. I don’t expect Bogi to sign his at all. It seems the Kings and Buddy aren’t far apart but why that number might be significantly larger than it appears. We focus on two of the younger teams in the league on this episode. What is Aaron Gordon? What is holding him back from being a player that can bring a real impact on a game? We he and Bamba and Isaac be a good fit? Why is Khem Birch a mysteriously important part of the roster? In Sacramento last season we saw maybe the most clever tank jobs of all time. Why do we say that? Have a listen. We liked what we saw from Hield and Bogdonovic last season and they added Yogi Ferrell and Ben McLemore. How are going to find time for all of these guards to play. And the answer better not be to not play Frank Mason. And of course we talk about what De’Aaron Fox need to focus on to improve his efficiency as a scorer. All of this and more.Follow Dane on Twitter: @DaneMooreNBAFollow us on Twitter: @willis_glen / @LawtonWillis / @presspodcast Learn more about your ad choices. This week, we begin our offseason player-by-player breakdown series.First player up: Devonte Green.Indiana has been searching for stability at point guard ever since Yogi Ferrell graduated. Devonte has shown he has the talent to be a solid -- at times even spectacular -- Big Ten guard. But will he ever become consistent enough to be someone who Archie Miller can count on?As always with Devonte, there are reasons to be optimistic and excited ... and reasons to be skeptical. We break all of those reasons down and assess our confidence level in his potential for a breakout junior season. We also dig into his Synergy numbers from last season, give them context, and discuss what they suggest about his most important areas for improvement.Oh, and that Washington Post story about Adidas sponsoring Romeo Langford's AAU team, and some of the ridiculous attention it garnered? We discuss that too. Plus a quick recruiting update. All in this edition of Assembly Call, with Jerod, Ryan, and Andy.

DFSR’s Doug Norrie and James Davis take a look at an interesting three game slate in the NBA. Sometimes these small slates can get a little tricky but this one looks packed with value. A lot of that comes from the Hornets getting to face the Nets who of course are the team we always want to target against in DFS. Playing four Hornets is totally in play with Kemba Walker and Nic Batum likely coming in as chalk. James Harden is another chalk play against the Magic though we do need to worry some about the blowout there. The guys also discuss the state of Orlando and how they’ve redistributed minutes in the short term. And finally they talk about the Mavs against the Blazers and whether Yogi Ferrell is still a popular play tonight. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Apparently, 10-day deals are all the rage these days. Yogi Ferrell was awesome on Friday and already earned a contract. Is anyone else out there to duplicate that today? No Zach LaVine and a lot of other wings are backed up, so lots of value out there. How good is Nikola Jokic right now? We'll talk about that game and stacking it up. Good luck! Enjoy the game tomorrow -- Blazers vs. Thunder, that is.
