In this episode, Australian hosts Jason and Joelle chat with Dr Joe Grasso, Clinical Psychologist and Vice President, Workforce Transformation at Lyra Health. Joe talks about the healthcare context in the United States and the role of the EAP within that context. He talks about the opportunity for EAP providers to engage in primary prevention work with their client organisations. He shares the typical approach to EAP delivery in the US and outlines some of the challenges inherent in common EAP business models. He offers advice for organisations evaluating EAP providers to ensure that they contract with providers who are providing high quality clinical care.
Join host Rachael and Dr. Joe Grasso, Head of Workplace Transformation at Lyra Health, as they unpack the true meaning of 'Security' in our daily work lives. They talk about how feeling secure at work affects everything from job satisfaction to overall health. Ever wondered why some workplaces just feel better to be in, while others drain your energy? Discover why overlooking psychosocial hazards like bullying and microaggressions can lead to a toxic work environment, and why addressing these issues is not just important, but essential. Whether you're in the corner office or the newest on the team, this conversation is about making work a better place for all of us.
In this episode, Dr. I. David Daniels will speak with Dr. Joe Grasso, Senior Director of Workforce Transformation at Lyra Health. He is a clinical psychologist, mental health researcher, educator by training, and a partner to employers on workforce mental health strategy by trade. In the U.S., there are an estimated 350 individuals for every mental health provider. However, these figures may overestimate active mental health professionals, as they may include providers who are no longer practicing or accepting new patients. In addition to the lack of access to mental health services, many of the delivery systems themselves need fresh eyes and fresh approaches to the issue that has become more prevalent in the past few years than ever. Dr. Grasso began his academic career seeking to go into advertising but shifted to focus more on human behavior. In the aftermath of COVID-19, he has been focused on macro approaches to workplace mental health.
