Mike Quackenbush, former Chikara promoter, head trainer at Wrestle Factory and a pro wrestler for 25 years, discusses his career and his current tour of 'Til We Make It seminars.
It's the second installment of our scheme to wheedle 5 star reviews from you guys! Listeners Jess Kelley, @ChiMothBoy and @AwfullyWaffly told the world we're the prettiest princess in the land, and instructed us to watch 3 different matches, and honestly we had a fricken ball. First up was the team of Naito and Takahashi vs the Golden Lovers, and we fell in LOVE with the cat man. We did mess up the NAME of the cat man, but we got there in the end. Also? Golden Lovers good at wrestling. You heard it here first! Up next was Eddie Kingston vs Mike Quackenbush in a CHIKARA match from 2011, and we spent the whole time lusting over Eddie, and peeping at all our favs around the ring. Ten stars, loved the experience. Lastly, we had our minds blown apart by a British indie match of Pac vs Cara Noir. The aesthetics! The camera work! The dramatiques! We were ENRAPTURED, and then CRUELLY were sent to hell by the knowledge that Riptide Wrestling no longer exists, and the new love of our life Cara Noir is injured. Donate to his GoFundMe here, because we MUST have this man back on our screens!

Episode 24 is a special one, we are joined by the one and only Cabana Man Dan! Adam set this one up for us and we are very thankful. CMD talks a little about himself and we watch some wrestling! The matches we cover, we do a watch along! First match is a good one where it pits Claudio Castagnoli vs Mike Quackenbush from IWA Mid-South Petty Invitational (https://youtu.be/fwCx6U-tEo8) and its a really good match. The Crew agrees, Quackenbush is underrated and Claudio had star power even back then. The second match pits Cabana Man Dan, as the Castaway, vs Derek Neal for the New South Title from IWTV Family Reunion (https://youtu.be/afRF_aFtc8o). Here you get to see and hear from Dan as he breaks this match down for us. But of course, that's not all as the guys are up to their usual shenanigans. Devyn talks some "on this day" and let me tell you, he brings the joy. Mike shines more light onto us with some bad news. Brad brings up everyone's favorite wrestling journalist. James talks about his hurricane experience, don't want to be left behind for that one. Rosey heels up talking about a TV show, and brings territory life with his visit to the Cauliflower Alley Club. So join the guys and Dan for another exciting episode of your show, the Kick Out Crew! And if you like what the guys are doing, be a friend and tell a friend.
Mike Quackenbush vs. Eddie Kingston (Chikara High Noon, 2600 Arena - November 13, 2011) - In this episode we talk about the the crowning of the Inaugural Chikara Grand Championship which featured a match between Eddie Kingston and Mike Quackenbush. Tariq has long waited to see a Quackenbush match, what did he think? Will he agree with Mike and Jim's praises of Eddie Kingston? One thing's for sure, no one agrees with Mike Quackenbush's outfit. In this week's games, although it seems easy the WCW 1993 “Roster” poses a huge challenge for Jim and Mike, in “This or That” we discuss tap-out or pitfall finishes and Mike tries to dethrone Jim in, “Who the F### Is That Guy?” --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/sixmantagpodcast/support

This week's episode brought to you by Slice on Broadway, Occupy Pro Wrestling, and Indy Wrestling US! We've got a special treat this week as we're joined by Wrestle Zone's Ross Berman! He is joined by our in-studio guest Jaye Cooper, as well as our usual group of wrestling fans with Sorg, Larry, and Bobby. This week's topics include: Ross has been covering the Colt Cabana and CM Punk trial. We've got him on the podcast to share a little bit of what he's been seeing. Podcasters and interviewers alike have been in the crosshairs awaiting the turnout of the Colt Cabana and CM Punk trial. Podcasts, in general, are entertainment – when someone frames it as fact-checked journalism, it can cause harm. A wrestling journalist having to switch gears to trial coverage? Covering New Japan is what prepared Ross for the Colt Cabana and CM Punk trial coverage. Ross covers New Japan, which brings us to Larry CANCELLING his WWE Network app! New Japan has been doing a bit lately – including some title changes and some reach to American and European audiences. Money in the Bank is just around the corner – as in THIS WEEKEND. We're sharing some thoughts and speculations. AJ Styles v Nakamura for Money in the Bank? WWE is doing the same stuff we'd be seeing in New Japan! Has anyone checked to see if Brock Lesnar is still alive? We haven't seen him in a couple months. We're making some Money in the Bank predictions. The sons of IRS are facing each other, and we're pretty excited about it. This week's big question: If you had the ability to give a Money in the Bank briefcase to ANYONE in wrestling, who would it be? NXT Takeover is ALSO this weekend. We're sharing some thoughts and predictions. OH: Lars Sullivan is great! I want to see him win the title at a house show! Lars Sullivan is what Snitsky should have been. What did YOU learn in wrestling this week?BONUS: Recommendation from our guest, Ross Berman: Check out David Starr v Mike Quackenbush if you get a chance. Remember that poster we were giving away? Since the inception of our show, the WWF's primary programme has been aired on a Monday night, but just how much has it changed in the 4-year span of our viewing? In Episode 64 of ‘The New Generation Project Podcast' we take a look at both ends of the spectrum. Firstly, Adam and Stewart are joined by Mike Quackenbush and Bryce Remsburg from Chikara in discussing the May 17th, 1993 episode of “Monday Night Raw” before Paul, Adam and Stewart check out the May 26th 1997 “Raw Is War”. Together, they combine to form a very special episode we've dubbed “Monday Night Raw Is War”! Featuring; your suggestions for who you'd like to see in the ring with a pissed off Vader, Adam finally watches Sunny's movie, homophobia spans the entire era, Tatanka, Kamala and Yokozuna, Marty Jannetty all make a temporary return to the show, Mike & Bryce take us through their history with the WWF, more ICOPRO than you could ever need, mullets return in force, Shawn Michaels & Mr. Perfect brawl on a car, The Smoking Gunns debut with a really dangerous finisher and Lord Alfred Hayes sees something but doesn't really say anything about it. Plus the answers to the questions; is there Ice Cream people? What's that F-Cup? Why hasn't Roy Hodgson taken Premier League Winner Danny Drinkwater to the Euros? Is Donald Trump more hated than Roman Reigns? Did Ghandi win the Oscar for Best Wardrobe? Why did sit-down interviews work for Mankind but not Goldust? Should you expect flips in a tournament called ‘Best of the Super Juniors'? What way is the right way to present toilet paper? And who was Chikara's Crazy Uncle?
