Sermons – New Life in Christ Church | Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania
God has built us for a life of purpose and calls us to make His purposes our passion. Today we will see why Jesus chose 12 apostles from his multitude of followers, and how He called them to a simple strategy when He said, Follow Me. He still calls His church to this same strategy to follow Him where He leads. It's a call to give up our self-rule and walk with and learn from Jesus as we fulfill His call upon our lives. The Master's plan of evangelism is the path of discipleship, of learning from Jesus, and putting it into action.

On my latest podcast, “A Widow's Heart,” I can't wait for you to meet Gigi Williams, whose relentless faith and spirit will inspire you to overcome anything! I'm Pam Lundell. Gigi was born with what some would call a disability, but she experienced joy knowing that in every situation, God works for the good of those who love Him…and yes, even after the death of her husband. Her book is titled “ Gods Hand in My One...Looking Back at the Master's Plan”.
This week we concluded our series on wisdom. We can all agree that it is wise to plan ahead. If wisdom is the application of knowledge, planning is very much wisdom in action. Some take planing more seriously than others, but it's safe to say that we all know what it's like to have a plan and then watch that plan fall apart. What we do with those pieces of broken plans also takes wisdom. Do we fall apart as well, or do we surrender to the Master's Plan and see where God's plans take us?

Continuing the theme of "ecclesiology in Ephesians" from last Sunday, Michael Gowens returns to this Pauline epistle in the 4/2/23 sermon to consider the function of the New Testament Church. What does God intend for the church? How is it supposed to operate? Brother Gowens explores the 3-dimensional model of church life revealed in the letter to the Ephesians.
Too often we feel as though we have failed so much we are of no value. We also look at ourselves and only see imperfections in our appearance and the sort. This message speaks truth to the lies!

Commands for how servants and masters should treat each other.
It should have been front page news. The world should have been rejoicing and shouting praises to God. All of Israel should have been awakened to Jesus as He begins His ministry of salvation to the Jews and eventually to every tribe, tongue, and nation. Yet, in the remote land of Zebulon and Naphtali His prophetic ministry shines its light into the darkness. Jesus has come to save His people from their sins. So, He starts His ministry by coming men to follow Him. Good often works in small things to see how faithful we are before He gives us a bigger light to shine. Let us pour our lives into a select few as Jesus did to impact the world with His light!
Do we want to do what God calls us to? Each year we are faced with what we want to be about, thinking that we need to reinvent ourselves, when all we need to do is start doing or keep doing the thing that God called his Church to in the first place. He wants us to be serious about making disciples.
