Welcome to Book Shop Chats, in this episode we are chatting with C.W Rose. Bio:C.W. Rose is a Fantasy and Romance author who writes about ordinary Asian women in extraordinary situations, and find themselves, and sometimes—okay, usually—love along the way, and the cinnamon roll (not always human) men who adore them. She is also a certified scuba diver and lifeguard with a deep love for the world and animals around us, though she hasn't spotted any mermaids yet. Outside of writing, you can find her buried in a great book, learning to sing in different languages, and finding any excuse to spend time outdoors. She's also a third culture kid who grew up in Singapore, and currently lives in New York City with her family, working as a Physical Therapist.  Book blurb: OCEANSONG is an Adult Contemporary Romantasy that is an Asian Romeo & Juliet meets The Little Mermaid, set in the grittiness of the real world. 24-year-old aspiring marine biologist Angie Song has returned to her Alaskan hometown for the summer to work at her family's docks. She soon learns that seafish are disappearing, starving her small fishing village, and when she investigates, she finds merfolk responsible. Her family declares war on the mer, resulting in a brutal fight for control of the sea's resources. And in the midst of the conflict, she falls in love with a Mer-Prince, putting everything and everyone dear to her in danger.Social links: https://linktree.com/cwroseAbout Victoria:Hi I'm Victoria a writer & developmental editor. Mastering the Art of Client Management: Strategies and InsightsIt's no secret that embarking on the entrepreneurial journey comes with its fair share of ups and downs, especially regarding client interactions. Throughout the course of this week's episode, we explore the multifaceted world of managing client relationships, from handling immediate conflicts to strategically curating a healthy client base.An example that vividly illustrates the challenge that I like to use is that of a hair salon: ensuring client satisfaction while juggling myriad, often conflicting, client expectations. Handling such situations requires a blend of patience, communication, and sometimes, the fortitude to say ‘no' and to protect your boundaries as a business owner.Enter the "Pumpkin Plan" by Mike Michalowicz, a strategy that advocates for nurturing your best clients while systematically weeding out those that hinder growth. (And we all know that managing clients who hinder growth is part of the process). This methodology empowers businesses to consolidate their efforts, thereby fostering a positive and productive work environment.Additionally, employing the Seven C's of the Trust Scale—Character, Competence, Confidence, Caring, Communication, Consistency, and Commitment—can provide a robust framework to evaluate and ensure fruitful business relationships. In navigating the complexities of client management, the key takeaway is clear: while adapting to client needs is essential, preserving one's business integrity and sanity remains paramount. It's a delicate balance but striking it ensures the sustainability and growth of your entrepreneurial journey.Remember, your youth is your power.

Good oration and rhetoric are not about which mode fits you or your message best, but knowing how to put your message in a form that the audience is most likely to hear.• To speak to pathos, be vulnerable or share a personal experience or even a secret. To speak to logos, use hard data and evidence or a deductive or inductive argument. To speak to ethos, share genuine and relevant credentials. In all cases, try to understand your audience's emotional state, their perspective, and their most pressing need, then present your message in terms that will appeal to them most. • Workplace communication runs on all the same communication rules, but we have to consider the bigger role that written and electronic communication plays, too. Professional communication is more about appropriateness, politeness, custom, convention, and formality. • We need to consider the goal, content, and medium to the message, as well as the audience. First, clarify the reason for communication and let that decide the most appropriate medium. Factor in your company's unique communication culture and be mindful of your tone. • Professional communication should follow the seven Cs: It should be clear, concise, correct, concrete, considerate, complete, and courteous.

Roger Patterson is a science instructor at Answers in Genesis with a Biology degree from Montana State University. He teaches Biology and Chemistry at the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter, as well is various online offerings. He has been on the show twice before to discuss the three-volume "World Religions and Cults" set that he co-authored with Bodie Hodge, and returns this month to talk about the many science education options available through Answers in Genesis. Outline of the Discussion Roger was a science teacher in the Wyoming public schools for eight years before he was saved, and has continued his passion for teaching science at Answers in Genesis at both the Creation Museum in the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area and at the Ark Encounter about 45 minutes south of there in Williamstown Kentucky. At the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, there was concern about being shut down, so Ken Ham came to Roger and told him he had just three days to prepare for a live-stream science show to carry on ministry goals through shut downs. It began with Facebook Live and no formal show title, but has grown into "Unlocking Science" on Answers.tv In addition to the web show, Roger (and others) do Explore Days, where they explore things such as Paleontology, Dinosaurs, Forensics, Physical Science, Biology, Environmental Science, and Chemistry. The overarching goal in all they do is to exalt the Scriptures and honor God. Unlocking Science brings in experts from several science disciplines within the Answers in Genesis staff. AiG offers science classes at both the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter throughout the year. Some are recurring, so they're best suited for those who live nearby. Others are more intensive and condensed down to a week at a time throughout the summer, and are good for people willing to travel to participate. In addition, there are "Explore Days" that are themed days for older (High School) kids, and "Explore, Junior" for younger kids. Online classes are also available. We circle back to Roger's background, conversion, and early career. Roger is most passionate about keeping a Biblical worldview throughout education. Answers in Genesis uses the Seven-C's of History: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation. We do our best to train up our kids in God's Word, while exposing them to competing worldviews and showing them the weaknesses in those worldviews. Answers in Genesis teaches a Young-Earth view, but considers it a secondary theological issue. The most important message is the Gospel, which they introduce into as much as of the materials as they possibly can.
