On Malta, a Mediterranean island of 246 km², we find over 66 Megalithic temples, underground temples called Hypogeum, cart ruts, and a Metatronic time and consciousness grid called the RESHEL. Why? Official history dates the temples to 4000-2500 BC. Lenie Reedijk has found though a correlation between the alignment of the temple axis to the star Sirius, which brings back the age of the oldest temple to 9150 BC, right after the last great flood. I've visited Malta and read the Akashic Records of the temples and island and I made some interesting discoveries. What have the Maltese temples to do with the star Sirius? And why are these temples connected to Noah, the Melissae priestesses, the knight's templars, bees and fertility? Listen to this episode and learn about the stunning history of the Maltese temples. In this episode, our host Gaby Azorsky speaks with Ariella Daly. This is part two of a two part series!  Ariella is a beekeeper and teacher. She is a voice in the wave of bee people devoted to the preservation of the bee and pollinators in their own sovereignty. Here because she believes in the wild, divine power of nature as both teacher and healer.  For the last 14 years, she has been a devoted student of the bee, bee animism, womb wisdom, and history and folklore around bees and bee priestesses of Ancient Greece. Ariella's approach to beekeeping falls under the labels of natural and bee-centric beekeeping. She is primarily interested in the relationship between beekeeper and bees, what we can learn from the hive as a colony and what we can offer to the bees, both in a single hive and as a species.  From Ariella's instagram:  Hymenoptera. The veil winged. She who carries souls between the worlds. Descended from stars. Born of bull. Born of lion. Melissae: the bee nymph and Mistress to Python. The bond between bee and woman goes as far back as recorded history. She, of the in between places. When the Melissae nymphs recused infant Zeus from his all-consuming father, they hid him away in a cave and raised him on sweet ambrosia: honey and milk. When bees came to earth they arrived in a long comet of starts. Seven of them remain to this day in the heavens. The seven Bees. The seven sisters. The Pleiades. When the tiny cluster of stars rise in the spring, honey bees cover the earth and bounty returns to the land. They say the first brewer was a woman and she brewed mead from her bees who told her the secrets of their intoxicating elixir. The great Greek prophetess was of the bee. Most revered oracles of the west, their era spanning centuries. The priestesses of Delphi were called Melissae, meaning bee, and the Pythia offering prophecy, was called the Delphic Bee. The bee offers the hum of life. The sound of creation. She, lover to flower and sunlight. Beloved companion of darkness. She who dances through the dim golden halls of her honeycomb cathedral. In our conversation today, we talk about magick, animism, imagination, ancient cultures and mythology, natural beekeeping, the hive, how they sound and feel and look, how we listen and relate, swarms, sovereignty, the bees and the flowers, eros, the beloved, the rhythms of beekeeping, and dreams.  *For 20% off your first month of The Flower Portal, use the code SPIRALOFFLOWERS through the end of August*    Connect ~ With our guest Ariella | Website and IG @beekeepinginskirts With her free lecture and other lectures, Messengers of Love  With our host Gaby Azorsky | Website and IG @gaby.azorsky With Spiral Deeper | Website and IG @spiral.deeper Sign up for Gaby's newsletter Partners ~ Thank you to our partners!  Moon Juice - Code ‘GABY.AZORSKY' Activist Manuka Honey - Code ‘GABY15' The Retreat Newspaper - Code ‘GABY100' for your first issue free Music by Gaby's incredible partner, Connor Hayes. Here's the secret about magic: it's not elusive, it's not hard to find, and it's everywhere. Magic happens when we follow the mythic threads that call to our soul and travel ever deeper into ourselves. We court magic when we take our inner yearnings seriously- by paying attention to dreams, symbols, old stories, ancestry, etc.-  and more & more meaning and synchronicity become woven into the fabric of our daily lives. Ariella is a beekeeper, musician, and storyteller.  A student of the Path of Pollen, she has studied honey bee shamanism and the way of the Melissae for the past 8 years in the United Kingdom. She developed an interested in earth wisdom at an early age, creating her first herb garden and herbal remedies at the age of 15.  Plant lore and an affinity for traditional folk music led her to study the myth and folk wisdom of her Celtic ancestry.  As a result, she has over 25 years experience designing, leading, and participating in Celtic and earth-based practices and ceremony.  She believes in the power of body as guide and nature as ally, and is committed to fostering relationships between the human and non-human world.  She employs her skills with group facilitation in a number of workshops and classes focused on beekeeping, dreamwork, and women's embodied wisdom.   In the Intro: Dreamwork Me, my birthday, my dead mom, & something meaningful that happened Herb Learnin’- the myth of precise dosage Finding plant resonances In the Interview: The beautiful stories behind the meaning of Ariella’s name How the tales her father told her as a child planted a seed that started Ari following the mythic threads of her Celtic ancestry a decade later and inspired many pilgrimages to her ancestral countries Reclaiming the lost indigenous and women’s wisdom from your line The grief of displacement and how our animal bodies recognize our ancestral homelands Ariella’s devastating miscarriage and the lessons and healing that followed (including how her lost daughter brought the bees into her life) and how our biggest traumas are what we weave our gold out of  Ari’s initiation into ancestral, shamanic beekeeping  Folklore & magic of place: that feeling when the fae folk/spirits of the land appear and offer you entrance to the Otherworld as you’re standing at midnight on a sacred hill at Glastonbury that centuries of lore say is a powerful portal (a true story) Raven meaning & medicine Spontaneous, heart-opening healing: “the piece of me that left came back in” “My whole life has been led by listening to the animals and plants” Embodying your ancestry through story, music, the land How to study and work with Ari Links: Ariella's website Honey Bee Wild Ari's music Take my fun Which Healing Herb is Your Spirit Medicine? quiz Mythic Medicinals Bedtime Bear Sleep & Dream Elixir Medicine Stories Patreon & our dreamwork conversation Medicine Stories Facebook Group Music by Mariee Sioux (from the song Wild Eyes)

Tonight we're going to discuss the Sacred Bee - past and present.  At the top of the hour we have  Nancy Leatzow, yogini, healer, beekeeper, ceremonialist and shakta  discussing the problem of colony collapse as a response to patriarchy - which threatens bees on the planet and humankind's food supply.  Also, how the beehive performs as a matriarchy,  bees and honey as important symbols and images throughout the ancient world and bee priestesses.  We'll get into how the bee is associated with hallucinogenic honey and how the bee is connected to prophecy and altered states of consciousness.  All of this from Nancy and returning once again to the show a favorite of listeners and myself, scholar and visionary, Marguerite Rigoglioso, author of Cult of Divine Birth in Ancient Greece and Virgin Mother, Goddess of Antiquity.  We'll feature some music of Layne Redmond on the show honoring the bees and priestesses of ancient times.
