Ray Nelson's 1963 story "Eight O'Clock in the Morning" — the basis for John Carpenter's 1988 film "They Live" — imagined reptilian aliens ruling Earth from behind human faces, and the 2023 book "Mimics: The Others Among Us" argues that scenario may not be fiction. The book collects accounts like that of Brenda Butler, co-author of a book on the Rendlesham Forest UFO incident, who in 1984 met a tall, blue-eyed man calling himself David Daniels and claiming to be from the Pleiades star cluster, then watched his skin turn scaly and reptilian before he shifted back to human. It recounts author Chris Holly's memory of a strikingly similar white-haired, blue-eyed family she later connected to the extraterrestrial "Tall Whites," alongside cases of living ghosts, doppelgangers, and a 1970s poltergeist blamed on a mimic wearing a teenage girl's face.From there the episode traces why left-handedness was treated as sinister for centuries. The stigma softened by the late 1960s, when William Gruby opened Anything Left-Handed, Ltd. to sell scissors, kitchen tools, and watches built for lefties.Next comes the disappearance of Aidan Roche, a 29-year-old chemical engineer from Middlesbrough who vanished on June 22nd, 2023, while hiking the Eiger Trail in Switzerland's Bernese Oberland. His campervan sat unlocked and abandoned near the trailhead with everything inside intact, and his final messages placed him two hours from Grindelwald in clear weather on a well-traveled path. Swiss police, mountain rescue teams, dogs, and drones searched for five days, and his brothers Connor and Niall raised over £30,000 for helicopter surveillance and screen advertisements in twenty-four locations, yet found nothing until September 24th, 2023, when Aidan's body was discovered near the trail with the cause of death still unreleased.The episode then settles on the Willey farm outside Macomb, Illinois, where hundreds of fires broke out in the summer of 1948. They started on August 7th as small brown spots that appeared on the living room wallpaper, spread, smoldered, and burst into flame — more than 200 of them in one week, igniting curtains, an ironing board, and newspapers sealed inside a closed cupboard, often erupting on walls and ceilings while witnesses watched. The blazes consumed the farmhouse on August 14th and both barns soon after, drew over 1,000 spectators on August 22nd, and even brought in the U.S. Air Force, which floated directed radiation from the Russians as a possible cause. Officials declared the case solved on August 30th by pinning it on 13-year-old Wanet McNeil, who confessed to using kitchen matches after hours of questioning despite never being seen holding any; psychiatrist Dr. Sophie Schroeder found her mentally normal, researcher Vincent Gaddis called it poltergeist activity, and Fire Chief Fred Wilson retired still convinced something unexplainable had happened.The episode closes with Vasile Gorgos, a 63-year-old cattle trader from Bacău, Romania, who left for a market in 1991 and disappeared for three decades. His wife reported him missing, an extensive police search turned up no trace, and his family eventually held a ceremony and accepted that he was dead. The beautiful star cluster the Pleiades in the constellation of Tauris is about 100 million years old making it one of the youngest objects that you can see in the natural night sky. Data obtained by observing Oumuamua (“Oh-moo-ah-moo-ah”), the first object humans have identified which is definitely from outside of our solar system suggests that it is an icy body with a red, rock appearing shell, of carbon rich organic material. By tracing Omuamua's path for millions of years into the past, Dr. Fabo Feng of the University of Hertfordshire , found that it's slow speed in the vicinity of 5 stars in the Pleiades suggests that it was ejected from one of them. In 1868 the office of the Surgeon General put out an order asking Army doctors to gather Native skulls so the size of them could be studied. A grief that any family on earth would know on sight was treated, on the other side of the counter, as a research opportunity. The dead became holdings. An ancestor became an object that a stranger could keep, study, and decline to return. I anchor the book in the Pawnee because their story shows you the whole machine in one place. These were a people who read their own lives in the stars. The Skidi band, the Wolf people, built their earth lodges as small models of the heavens, with four posts for the four stars that hold up the corners of the sky, and they watched the Pleiades come through the smoke hole to know when to plant.

For most American skywatchers, the star Capella is just peeking into view in the morning twilight. It’s bright, but it’s quite low as the sky brightens. You need precise timing and a clear north-northeastern horizon to spot it. A star’s first appearance is called the heliacal rising – a term that means “with the Sun.” It takes place at the same time every year, as the Sun completes a full circuit through the background of stars. In many ancient cultures, the heliacal rising of certain stars was crucial. The best example is Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. In Egypt, it first appeared just before the annual flooding of the Nile – the most important event of the year. So the star’s return marked the start of a new year. Several cultures looked for the Pleiades star cluster. Its appearance marked a time to plant crops, or to gather them, depending on a culture’s location. Capella might have been important to the Zapotec, who lived in present-day Mexico. A half-century ago, researchers proposed that a building in the city of Monte Albá‡n was intentionally aligned at a right angle to Capella’s rising point. The star first appeared there at the time the Sun passed directly overhead at noon – a key date in the calendar. But later work disputed that finding. Capella isn’t nearly as important in modern times. But it reminds us that the stars once held great power over much of everyday life. Script by Damond Benningfield

He also makes historical claims concerning Palestine, Israel, the Khazarians, and early American leadership. Caroline encourages listeners to call in with questions, emphasizing that the program is intended to examine what the speakers regard as hidden history and concealed political or spiritual realities. Messages from Lady Nada, Mr. X, and the Galactics Rama then reads a series of updates he says he received during spiritual visits to natural locations where he sat with deer, birds, owls, bobcats, and other animals while performing the Adi Shakti mantra. When Caroline asks about reports of possible arrests in Washington, D.C., Rama says he has been told that members of Congress are working through the rule of law to remove the person occupying the Oval Office and members of that administration for alleged constitutional violations. Mother's Message, the Sun, and Expanded Chakras Near the conclusion, Rama channels a being referred to as Mother, who speaks about radiant light pouring in from the sun, transforming human cells and helping people awaken into higher states of being. The message encourages listeners to go into the heart, connect with sunlight, meditate, and recognize themselves as living bodies of radiant light. This episode is just me, Jeff Hinshaw, offering a reflection on the Taurus New Moon and the larger collective shifts we are moving through. I explore how this lunation marks the first Taurus New Moon without Uranus in Taurus since 2019, and what it means to begin integrating years of disruption and innovation around money, the body, stability, technology, and the Earth itself, while Uranus now in Gemini shifts the revolution into language, communication, and perception. I share observations from the collective field around simplification, mobility, and changing life structures, alongside increasing relational and mental intensity as different worldviews meet. From there, I move into Taurus embodiment practices, including a somatic grounding meditation through the body and third eye “bull's eye” center as a way of reconnecting intuition with physical presence and nature. The Moon passes through the bull tonight. The bull’s “eye” – the star Aldebaran – is off to the left of the Moon. The bull’s face and shoulder are even closer, represented by a pair of star clusters – the Hyades and the Pleiades. For the most part, you can’t tell the distance to an astronomical object just by its appearance. Something that looks quite bright might be close, but it might also be far away and especially bright. But you can tell something about the distances to the objects around the Moon tonight by their appearance. The Pleiades looks like a tiny dipper close below the Moon. It contains hundreds of young stars, some of which are hot and bright. But the cluster’s small size is a good indication of its distance – almost 450 light-years. The Hyades looks bigger. It forms a letter V that outlines the bull’s face. It looks a good bit more spread out than the Pleiades. But that’s largely because it’s only a third as distant. Aldebaran stands at the top left point of the V. It outshines all the other points. In part, that’s because it’s less than half as far – just 65 light-years away. So these prominent features really do tell us something about their distances. One other bright light stands directly below the Moon in early evening, and it’s the brightest of all: Venus, the “evening star.” Right now, it’s closer to us than anything else except the Moon. New Moon Match 18th The New Moon on March 18, 2026, moves into Pisces, which brings a sense of completion and spiritual transition. Pisces energy is already intuitive, emotional, and inward-focused. But right now, we also have a cluster of planets in Pisces, which amplifies everything. Heads up! Your sensitivity may be higher. Your dreams may feel more vivid. And, you may find yourself picking up on subtle emotional or energetic cues more than usual. This New Moon follows a total lunar eclipse that was on March 3rd and comes just after Jupiter turned direct in Cancer on March 10th. Together, these events create a strong “turn the page” feeling after a period of emotional clearing. It’s like a clean slate waiting for something new. For many women in midlife, this can show up as being ready to release old stories. Stories about aging, what you want, and or dropping this need to be the caregiver for everyone. The 7 Sisters of Pleiades On Sunday evening, March 22nd, the waxing crescent Moon conjuncts the 7 Sisters of Pleiades. It's visually beautiful in the sky, just step outside and look up if it’s a clear night. There's been a lot of talk about March 2026 feeling “magical,” partly because of several celestial events happening close together. These include the earlier March eclipse and a recent Grand Planetary Parade. The Seven Sisters have long been associated with shared wisdom, feminine connection, and support. That makes Sunday night the ideal time to gather with other women. You may focus on being supportive, healing old wounds, manifesting together or healing the earth.. You could spend a few quiet minutes outside, say a prayer, meditate, or do a ceremony of your own creation. There's something powerful about simply pausing, looking up at the sky, and remembering that you're part of something much larger and deeply intelligent. A Shift Toward Clarity As we move into early April, the energy begins to shift from inward reflection to clearer outer expression. On April 4th, Mercury becomes more visible in the sky. This supports communication, clarity, and new ideas. At the same time, there are larger background changes happening. To the eye alone, the Pleiades cluster looks like a small dipper of about seven stars – a few more if you have nice, dark skies. But when Galileo Galilei looked at it with his first small telescope, he saw a few dozen stars. It was one of the first indications that there’s far more to the universe than meets the eye. You can share Galileo’s view with a basic pair of binoculars – no telescope required. They’re especially helpful tonight because of the Moon. It passes through the outskirts of the cluster, so it points the way. But the moonlight makes it tougher to see the stars. The Pleiades is a family of perhaps a couple of thousand stars. The stars were all born together, from the same cloud of gas and dust. That makes the cluster a good laboratory. Since the stars all started with the same mix of elements, any differences among them are the result of their evolution – changes within the stars themselves. That helps astronomers understand how all stars change over the eons. The cluster probably is a little more than a hundred million years old. That means it’s completed only about half an orbit around the center of the galaxy. During that time, it’s lost many of its original stars. And before it can complete one full orbit from its current location, it’s likely to evaporate – pulled apart by the gravitational tug of the rest of the galaxy. The surface of Ariel looks like a sheet of paper that’s been loosely crumpled. It’s covered with ridges, wrinkles, and gashes. That may be telling us that Ariel once had a deep ocean of liquid water. Ariel is one of the larger moons of the planet Uranus. It’s about 720 miles in diameter – a third the size of our moon. It orbits just a hundred thousand miles from the planet – much closer than the Moon is to Earth. It’s roughly a 50-50 mix of ice and rock. Our only good look at Ariel came in 1986. Voyager 2 flew past it and photographed about a third of its surface. The pictures revealed a complex face. It has a mixture of old and young craters, deep ridges, and smooth plains that might have been paved by water gurgling up from inside the moon. A recent study modeled the orbit of Ariel over the ages. It found that the orbit was once much more lopsided than it is today. As Ariel moved in and out, the gravity of Uranus stretched and squeezed the little moon. That could have melted some of the ice inside it, creating an ocean a hundred miles deep, topped by a thin crust of ice. The stress of all the stretching and squeezing could have cracked the ice, creating the wrinkly surface we see today. Uranus is high overhead at nightfall. It’s below the Pleiades star cluster, and farther to the right of the bright orange star Aldebaran. Through good binoculars, the planet looks like a faint star. Script by Damond Benningfield

Stars are born from huge clouds of gas and dust. Many of the stars remain close together, forming clusters. But as a cluster moves through the Milky Way, it gets pulled apart. The gravity of the rest of the galaxy tugs away the stars on the outskirts of the cluster. It also loosens the rest of the cluster, making it easier to pull away more stars. A recent study looked at how that’s played out in the region around the Pleiades cluster. Using telescopes in space and on the ground, researchers measured how fast the stars in the region are spinning. That provides a rough measure of their age – the younger the star, the faster it spins. They also measured the motions of the stars through the galaxy, allowing them to trace the paths of the stars far into the past. And they compared the compositions of the stars; stars that were born together are made of the same mixture of elements. From that, they found that the Pleiades and several smaller groups were close together tens of millions of years ago. That suggests they were born together before heading their separate ways. The study also found hundreds of stars between the groups that had belonged to one of the groups in the past. Today, the groups and loners are spread across 2,000 light-years of space – the Giant Pleiades Complex. Look for the Pleiades high overhead at nightfall.
