This week on episode 49 of the CrownHoops Podcast, Jordan Daly, Mike White, Stacey Collier, and Ben Okazawa talk about the 2020 NBA Draft and look into concerning comments coming from the Minnesota Timberwolves' number 1 pick, Anthony Edwards. The guys also question if the Bucks' recent trade for Jrue Holiday will be enough for them to make the NBA Finals and ultimately convince Giannis Antetokounmpo to re-sign. Certainly, many would agree that our thoughts come and go so quickly that it seems impossible to notice them, but with awareness and an attitude of self-compassion, we can redirect our negative thoughts to more positive ones. Graeme spent two seasons in the Islanders organization spending the majority of his time with the Capital District Islanders. He did play nine games with the big club scoring a goal and adding two assists. His amazing career included winning "Man of the Year" awards in two different leagues and after he retired as a player, Graeme became a successful coach. The only way you can feel upset is when you think about negative feelings. It’s easier said than done, I know.  But when we feel grateful, our brain releases dopamine, the reward chemical. The Good People have been around a long time. A really long time. Think of a long time, then multiply that by a really long time. You’re getting close. If you believe, as I do, that they are an intelligent race, (or group of clans), who have lived these many long ages, it follows their societies must take on some form of structure, some rules, or boundaries. Their society cannot be a complete free for all: if it was their carelessness and recklessness would result in them exposing themselves to us regularly. So it is that, from time to time, (not as often as us of course) the Good People enter into some form of conflict. One of the greatest challenge leaders face today is grasping that the world is changing. You’ve got to rethink everything and start thinking digitally to survive and to continue to influence the world in a positive way.   Here are 5 keys to success to help you navigate this digital generation: Digital thinking is about adaptation, not duplication. You can’t just duplicate what you do in the physical space that you do in the digital space; you’ve got to adapt. For example, churches will do better on live streaming if they are conscious about the viewers on the other side of the camera.   Digital thinking is a two-way conversation; it’s about welcoming feedback. Everything we do digitally needs to pass through that filter.   The early church is a good example of that two-way conversation. They engaged, they interrupted; it wasn’t until much later in history that the pastor became elevated and a church gathering turned into a one-way conversation.   Digital thinking forces you to look outward versus inward. It forces you to look at things from other’s perspective. It’s no longer about how we want to reach our intended audience; it’s how they want to reach us.   Digital thinking means everything doesn’t have to be original; it can be a mashup. Take the best things that work and combine them into something unique!   Digital thinking means the launch is only the beginning. The launch is critical, but digital thinking helps us think post-launch as well!   Start thinking digitally. Embrace change and you can thrive in the digital age.

There are worlds and creatures unknown to us, lurking in the deep waters of sea, river and lake. In this episode we explore one of the Good Folk who is known to dwell on both land, and in the dark, deep lakes of Ireland: The Water Horse, also known as the Lake Horse. Many of our Ancestors have witnessed a Water Horse lurking far out in the middle of a lake, often silently watching the activities of nearby Humans or stealthily stalking them. Others still have seen Water Horses graze peacefully on grass bordering the Lake. We share a tale of one such Water Horse who did not appreciate being disturbed by nearby fishermen and angrily chasing them before returning its their watery home. Some particularly courageous/reckless/desperate people have even captured a Water Horse and made use of its immense size and strength to help with manual labour tasks. Through true accounts we discover that this usually doesn’t end well… On this week’s episode we share several tales of the Water Horse, or Lake Horse, and ponder if they are dangerously territorial of their Lake home, or if they are simply caring guardians who take their duty most seriously. * Fancy buying me a coffee?
