In this episode of the Conceive Baby Podcast we'll be talking about a topic that you may not associate with fertility. And that's music. Recent studies are proving the power music can have in supporting women through their reproductive journey. To help us understand more about the use of music in your fertility journey, I'm speaking with Dr Natasha Andreadis, who recently presented her research findings in this area at the Fertility Society of Australia National Conference and I'm thrilled that she is taking the time to share them with us in this episode. Dr Andreadis is an experienced gynaecologist and a CREI certified fertility specialist. Natasha believes in a holistic and integrative approach to health and have a particular interest in the impact of nutrition, lifestyle and environment on reproductive health and has also qualified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach (INHC). In 2008, Dr Andreadis won the RANZCOG award for the highest mark in the Oral MRANZCOG exam. In her final year of subspecialty training she was a research fellow at Oxford, United Kingdom and Utrecht, the Netherlands. Dr Andreadis holds a Masters Degree in Human Reproduction and Genetics from the University of Sydney. Natasha is committed to sharing her knowledge which she fulfils by teaching as a clinical lecturer at the University of NSW Reproductive Masters program. She has an informative women's health and fertility podcast channel The Fanny Mechanic and a You Tube channel Dr Tash TV providing patients with her informative and entertaining video blogs. Her current research interests are in music therapy, looking at how music can help reduce anxiety related to gynaecological and fertility procedures. Most of us know that too much sugar is generally not great for us. We shouldn't be eating too many cakes and lollies because it contributes to weight gain and inflammation. In this webinar, we look beyond the diet. Beyond the calories and find out what sugar is actually doing to our cells at a biological level and how that impacts our ability to conceive and carry a healthy baby. I speak with Associate Professor M. Louise Hull about her research into the impact of a high sugar diet on fertility and pregnancy outcomes. Associate Professor M. Louise Hull is a gynaecologist and reproductive medicine physician with a biomedical science background. She leads the Endometriosis Research Group at the Robinson Research Institute and the Implantation Special Interest Group for the Asia Pacific initiative for Reproductive Medicine (ASPIRE). Dr Hull works at Women's and Children's Hospital and in private practice at O and G in North Adelaide. Dr Hull's practice focuses on improving fertility and early pregnancy outcomes for women with implantation problems. Recently she has explored the impact of disorders of glucose metabolism on implantation and miscarriage in clinical practice. Assoc Prof Hull co-founded the FertilitySA IVF unit and was their scientific and new developments director. She supervises PhD students, medical students, chairs the AGES grant committee, is deputy chair of the RANZCOG grant committee and was an Associate Editor for Human Reproduction. In this episode of Memoirs of Successful Women, Transformation Specialist Annie Gibbins interviews interviews Dr Talat Uppal, Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, owner of The Women's Health Road. Dr Talat Uppal is an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist who currently works both at the Northern Beaches and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospitals as a Visiting Medical Officer. She has a DDU sonographic qualification obtained in 2010 which gives her an advantage of being formally trained in ultrasound. She is the Director of Women's Health Road, and has set up an innovative, digitally integrated, multidisciplinary obstetric and gynaecology service with in-house ultrasound facilities. Dr Talat Uppal is also a Clinical Senior lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Northern Medical School, University of Sydney. Her past, decade long role was based at Many and Mona Vale Hospitals, as Senior Obstetrics Staff Specialist and Clinical Director of Women's, Children & Family health. She is the past Chair of both the NSW State Reference Committee and NSW RANZCOG Education Subcommittee. Dr Talat Uppal is a Fellow of the Australian Association for Quality in Health Care as well as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management. She is the joint coordinator of Diploma (DRANZCOG) OSCE examination as her special interest is supporting the role of General Practitioners in the Women's health context. She is enrolled in a University of Sydney PhD looking at collaborative models of maternity care. She is a RANZCOG media spokesperson and an active member of the RANZCOG Gender Equity and Diversity Working Committee. Dr Tash is also a Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility (CREI) sub-specialist, making her uniquely qualified to manage infertility and hormonal issues.
