Rick's 3 questions are:Why am I doing what I'm doing? In my relationship, what are we doing well, and what is not working? What's my biggest obstacle right now and how do I overcome it?You can find Rick at his website: https://www.rick-cooper.com/Or at his LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rick-cooper-theeducationathlete/Listen to the podcast with Michael Bungay Stanier: https://performanceintelligence.transistor.fm/episodes/66-michael-bungay-stanier-the-power-of-coaching-tapping-into-curiosity-and-reinventing-yourself-to-stay-relevant-and-freshBuy a copy of his book mentioned in this podcast: https://www.mbs.works/coaching-habit-book/ Looking to streamline your financial goals? A conversation with Kori Cooper Clements, a speech pathologist with Canyon ISD and a local volleyball legend. Kori was inducted into the Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame last year with her father, former WTAMU basketball coach Rick Cooper—making them the first father-daughter duo to be inducted. One of the best players to ever come from this area, Clements spent one season as the Amarillo High School volleyball coach in 2018 before resigning due to issues related to athletes' playing time and the resulting fallout. (It was a big, local controversy at the time.) More than five years later, she shares with host Jason Boyett about her volleyball career, her resignation in early 2019, and what she's been doing since. Rey gets Boris and Fritz to watch four... documentaries?... about the American Nazi Party approved by none other than the National Socialist Order, three of which are directed and narrated by somehow-still-living joke, James Mason. Jimbo's fawning take on George Lincoln Rockwell's disastrous gubernatorial campaign and his unintentionally hilarious supercut of "lost footage" are bad enough, yet pale next to his epic film-length slide show of Rockwell's life and career. Alongside this powerful collective opus of editorial prowess is a professionally made propaganda piece that feels like some Neo-Nazi version of The Office. Also, Rey introduces Rick Cooper to our collection of Nazi weirdos along with his very special tastes. This is The Empire Never Ended, the Antifascist Amerikanski-Balkan podcast about (neo) fascist terror, the (deep) state and the alienation, nihilism and desperation produced by the capitalist system. Rick Cooper is a former rugby player and inspirational Leadership and Performance coach. Rick's upbringing in sport was one where he initially tried to find validation, recognition and significance through the competition of rugby. This led him to embark on a professional career with Saracens. In doing so, he broke his back, making him temporarily semi paralysed with the medical profession ruling out any physical endeavour in his lifetime at the age of just 21. Defiant, he went on to spend 10 years as a London Firefighter, proudly serving and helping the people of London. In this time he made a return to the rugby field and even received an invite to represent GB as a power lifter. Now a qualified Personal Trainer, Educator, Assessor, Life and NLP coach, Rick has become an integrated man and consistently coaches men to personal transformation. In this conversation we delve into his journey with rugby from his early days as a fiery front rower to finding his home in his later years in the back row via the bulk of his career as a crash ball centre. We talk about some of the challenges throughout his career and also some of his revelations as a retired player and how he transformed his approach to training. Through connecting with nature on a regular basis and enjoying short sharp training sessions among other things he has found a new sense of freedom with his body after many significant injuries sustained in the game. He uses this new found freedom and his inner fire, which he used to channel into the rugby field, to fuel his new life which includes creating some amazing programmes for the people he works with and coaches. He shares many nuggets of wisdom through the podcast and wraps it up with some huge inspiration to anyone involved in the game! A huge gratitude to Rick for sharing his story. To find out more about Rick check out his website here: https://www.rick-cooper.com/ Or you can follow him on instagram here: https://instagram.com/rick__cooper?igshid=1xv1c7oru11k7 Finally, The Post Rugby Podcast would like to invite you to our FREE FACEBOOK GROUP - The Post Rugby Community to connect with other rugby players (current and retired) and like minded people to continue your journey to a happier and healthier life post rugby.

The sports field is literally a proving ground, and in this weeks podcast we explore an idea that maybe the proving ground is not fully understood and that we often attempt to prove something that doesn't need to be proven. That, you are enough and you have always been enough. Now imagine what that shift in understanding would do to how we show up on the field, that you are in the field because of who you are. That is what I take from our podcast with @rick_cooper, ex rugby player, fireman and now leadership coach and speaker. We talk, Competition. Connection. Resilience. Leadership, how to pick yourself up when you are told you will never walk again and more. Thanks brother for your time, as always it was a pleasure. If you like the pod and feel like buying us a coffee to keep us fueled, then follow the link in the bio.Peace☮️, love❤️ and rigor✊.

This interview took place in May at the IARS meeting in Montreal. Dr. Cooper is the current President of the Society For Airway Management, and has for many years been a advocate of extubation precautions. The closed claims database has demonstrated how there has been a reduction in claims related to induction and intubation, yet no change in claims related to the phase of extubation. Dr. Cooper gives concrete suggestions on who to be concerned about and what actions to take.
Richard Cooper did the earliest trials with the Glidescope. His series of 728 patients has now been called a "Classic" by the Canadian Journal of Anesthesia. I met Dr. Cooper at the IARS in Montreal, and we had a great conversation.
