If you’re parenting a teen boy, you already know—these years can feel like an emotional roller coaster. There are moments of joy, but also confusion, frustration, and heartache. You want to guide your son, love him well, and point him to Jesus—but some days, you honestly don’t know what to do. This week on The Love Offering podcast, I’m joined by Brooke McGlothlin, author of Praying for Teen Boys: Partner with God for the Heart of Your Son. As a mom of two sons herself, Brooke offers wisdom straight from the trenches and reminds us that we’re not alone—and we’re not without help. In our conversation, Brooke shares how to: Fight for your son, not against him Partner with God in powerful prayer Navigate your changing relationship with peace and confidence Find purpose, not powerlessness, in your parenting No matter how out of reach your son may seem at times, prayer keeps you connected to the One who sees, knows, and loves him even more than you do. Tune in and be encouraged—your prayers matter more than you know. What if the story you were afraid to speak… was the one someone desperately needed to hear? In this raw, radiant, and revealing first-ever podcast interview, I sit down with writer and first-time speaker Leah Vidal Carrosquilla (aka Little Miss Wordy), author of Light Up the Sky—a 365-day devotional crafted for young male athletes craving strength, faith, and self-worth in a world full of noise. But Queen, this episode is so much more than a chat about publishing a book. It's a behind-the-scenes breakdown of what it means to transform personal grief into global impact. Leah takes us on an intimate journey from coffee chats with her late mom to hearing God's nudge to "write the dang thing" for her son—when nothing else on the shelves spoke his language. You'll hear how one teacher's words nearly crushed her writing dreams—and how her own storytelling superpower resurrected them. We explore identity, healing, and what happens when you stop hiding behind the page and start owning your voice (even in a Mad Hatter costume, yep!). If you've ever doubted your right to be heard, THIS is your sign to speak your truth—out loud.
In this episode, Kyle shares an email he got from a former member of Andy Stanley's church, and he talks about what everyone is getting wrong about the rise in sextortion of teenage boys online. Parenting boys is tough. Parenting teenage guys is 100 times tougher! Or at least it can feel like it.When your teenage son challenges your authority, when he blatantly disobeys, or when he rolls his eyes at your advice—it's natural to feel frustrated. It's easy to think, “Why me? Why do I have a son that acts like this?”In these moments of crisis, take heart. Remember that the Lord makes NO mistakes. In His divine wisdom, the Lord chose YOU to be your son's parent. That's a tremendous responsibility. And because the Lord called you to this important task, He will continue to equip and strengthen you for the job.Raising teenage boys isn't easy. As the world of adolescent skincare often goes unnoticed, today we crack the code on self-care for teen boys. My enlightening chat with Dr. Sheilagh Maguiness, a pediatric dermatologist and co-founder of Stryke Club, reveals the untold hurdles teen boys face as they navigate the stormy seas of skincare. We're busting myths left and right—from charcoal's real impact on acne to the proper way to wield a razor. It's about time we tailored conversations and routines to the reality of boys' lives, helping them, and their parents, foster confidence through simplicity and clarity in their self-care practices.Skincare doesn't discriminate, and neither should we. That's why this episode also casts a spotlight on the significance of gender-neutral products and the fine print on those 'natural' labels that might do more harm than good to young skin. Ever wondered why your child's skin reacts unexpectedly to that botanically-infused lotion? We've got you covered with personal stories of navigating allergies and the lowdown on ingredients that could trigger them. Plus, for those teens breaking a sweat in sports or life, we share the ins and outs of choosing the right antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory body washes, making sure your child's skin stays as resilient as they are.Lastly, we wrap up with some hard-earned wisdom on managing eczema and acne—the twin peaks of teen skin concerns. Discover the art of rehydrating and shielding skin from the sun, and why starting conversations early about self-care can make all the difference in destigmatizing these routines for boys. And for those moments when over-the-counter just doesn't cut it, Dr. Maguiness and I lay out the roadmap to professional dermatological care. So, whether you're a parent looking to guide your child or a teen ready to take the reins of your skin health, this episode is your ally. Highlights: ● "It's being widely reported that FIFA, the international soccer federation, is offering 20,000 free tickets for the Women's World Cup games in New Zealand due to concerns over slumping ticket sales." ● “The whole fallacy in Megan Rapinoe's argument and NBC's promotion (that unequal pay is the result of sexist soccer league policies), is that professional athletes aren't paid for their actual work, in fact, no professional is paid for their actual work. We are all paid in accordance with the value that we bring to others!
