What happens when a distinguished leader decides to challenge deeply rooted religious attitudes and inspire a faith-filled journey across continents? Simon McIntyre, a pivotal figure in the C3 Church Movement, shares his transformative story from the early days of church planting in Australia to his influential roles in Europe and the Americas. Through his candid recounting of personal loss, remarriage, and heartfelt anecdotes, Simon provides profound insights that will resonate with anyone seeking a stronger passion for following Jesus Christ.. Simon’s journey is far from conventional. From a legendary plastic Jesus statue to the remarkable organic growth of C3 Church in Sydney to a global network of nearly 600 churches. Unplanned and divinely guided, C3's expansion showcases the power of genuine faith-led initiatives over human-centric planning. Simon’s reflections on the unpredictable path of church planting and navigating cultural divides offer a refreshing perspective on spiritual leadership and community building. In this episode, we also tackle the complex themes of grief and hope, contrasting genuine assurance with wishful thinking. Simon’s heartfelt story of meeting Valerie and finding love again after the loss of his wife Helen highlights the importance of emotional readiness and divine timing. From the power of rest and historical Christianity to the balance between meaningful influence and the dangers of fame, Simon's journey offers invaluable lessons for those dedicated to a life of faith, leadership, and authentic spiritual growth. SEASON 4: EP 04 OF THE CHURCH EXPLAINED PODCAST Welcome to part two with Simon McIntyre, one of the key leaders of the C3 Church. In this thought-provoking episode, Simon McIntyre discusses the importance of spiritual leadership and the need for a shift in mindset among church leaders. He emphasises the significance of modelling reliance upon the Holy Spirit and disdain towards worldly leadership principles. Simon also highlights the value of diving deeper into Scripture as a group of leaders rather than solely relying on leadership books and techniques. Throughout the conversation, he challenges the traditional approach to preaching and encourages leaders to prioritise living out biblical principles from Monday to Saturday, not just on Sundays. This insightful episode prompts reflection on the true essence of leadership and discipleship within the church. We hope you enjoy -------------- We help leaders find solutions through our 1. In this episode, I interview Simon McIntyre, the overseer of the C3 Church regional areas. Simon shares about his faith journey, ministry experience, and his latest book, "Lessons in the Wilderness," which explores the leadership lessons from the life of Joshua. We discuss the contrast between the business model of leadership and the Biblical model, emphasising the importance of discipleship and spiritual formation in the church. Simon highlights three defining elements from Joshua's leadership: faith in what God says, serving faithfully, and cultivating a deep relationship with God's presence through prayer and Scripture. We also touch on the dangers of focusing solely on giftedness and the need for restoration based on character and the church's health. Tune in to gain new insights for growing your leadership and building the church. We hope you enjoy -------------- We help leaders find solutions through our 1. LEADERSHIP COACHING 2. This week we join Ps Phil Pringle and Simon McIntyre for a conversation on leadership and the announcement of the exciting release of Simon's new book, “Joshua - Lessons In The Wilderness.” The book takes a deep dive into kingdom leadership principles through the lens of the life of Joshua. NOW available on Amazon (https://mybook.to/EAJB) Leadership is a hot topic. Some suggest everything hangs on it, and maybe it does. However, the definition of Christian leadership, and the defining of a leader, doesn't follow the trend of that offered by football coaches, military leaders, politicians and business gurus. Joshua is case in point. He never went to the equivalent of ivy league, Oxford, or Sandhurst College. His training was in a wilderness, far from comfort, recognition or accolade. He was trained in active faith, serving another's vision, and God's word and presence. It was these that defined him; it is these that define us, with some form of wilderness thrown in for good measure. For more details head to simonmcintyre.net or follow him on Instagram and Twitter @simonmci Simon and Valerie McIntyre are the Regional Directors for C3 Church Americas. Simon has been a faithful and key member of the C3 Church Global Team for over 40 years and we recommend this book to all pastors and leaders.

This week we hear part two of a two part devotional with our C3 America's overseer, Simon McIntyre. Ps Simon reflects on Deuteronomy 4:15-19 and provides insight into how God communicates with man and how we as the created relate to the creator. When God speaks, He does so through His word and ultimately through his son Jesus and not through any other form or idol. We are called to worship God and not things.
This week we hear part one of a two part devotional with our C3 America's overseer, Simon McIntyre. Ps Simon reflects on Deuteronomy 1:9-18 in which God directs the appointment of leadership within the nation of Israel to be judges and help settle disputes. Ps Simon provides insight into how this is translated into our current society and also provides wisdom from scripture in dealing with disputes, especially between God's people.
A message dispelling myths about discipleship and grounding us in the true and tried methods of Jesus.

Ps Simon McIntyre Delivers a Christmas message on Jesus is King, part 2 of the series.
The Story of Nehemiah is one of rebuilding a broken nation, a discouraged people. He gave courage and purpose to God’s people helping them refocus their lives, and skills. This is always a pertinent message for us. Enjoy.
In this message the Lord’s Prayer is seen through community context - which is how Jesus meant it to be used. There is not one me, my, or I in this prayer. It is us, ours, all the way. Prayer with a new perspective.
Part 3 - In this message Ps Simon introduces the Psalms as a vehicle of genuine God talk. The Psalms cover every emotion from despair to praise in a manner helpful and wholeness producing in our lives as Gods people.
Part 2 - In this message Ps Simon introduces the Psalms as a vehicle of genuine God talk. The Psalms cover every emotion from despair to praise in a manner helpful and wholeness producing in our lives as Gods people.
Part 1 - In this message Ps Simon introduces the Psalms as a vehicle of genuine God talk. The Psalms cover every emotion from despair to praise in a manner helpful and wholeness producing in our lives as Gods people.
The Loss of Hope as a major theme in the Christian experience leads ultimately to a loss of real hope. Hope is the sure confidence in the ultimate justice and power of God to reconcile the world to his grand finale. It powered the early believers and gave them reason for living beyond the false and alluring promises of this world. Bring back hope.
Ps Simon McIntyre brings this fantastic message on how love has become the unassailable feeling that is virtually a human right. Love is all you need according to John (Lennon) and Paul (McCartney), but what kind of love? Another John and Paul (the apostles) saw love in a very different light. For them, for us, it is seen in the sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross for our sins, and doing the commandments of Christ. A different love, that is richer, deeply and lasting.
Today in the final message from this series on relationships three speakers summarise that at the heart of Church is the word - Community. Ps Simon McIntyre looks at some of the responses of the church to this thought (that we are a family before an organisation) and some of the benefits of community available only to God's church. This is followed by the Lucy and Phil Hubbard rounding the message off with the heart of looking out to our community.
In the second week of this series on The Art of Relationships, Ps Simon and Valerie McIntyre host a panel of speakers looking at key elements of healthy relationships and bringing their personal experiences to life. Great wisdom not to be missed.
In this, the first of a series on Healthy Relationships, Ps Simon McIntyre looks at three vital and easily forgotten attributes that make for great connections with each other: Kindness, Patience and Gentleness/Reasonableness. This is followed by How to Speak – how to de-escalate arguments and bring life into conversations. We are sure you will enjoy the practical wisdom of this message and series.
Great relationships have deep foundations - not just commonality or affection. Important though they are they won't sustain like the deep dynamics of forgiveness and confession. Ps Simon McIntyre helps understand how these fit into the bedrock of great relationships.
In this insightful message Ps Simon explains the huge difference between thinking and acting like a Son or thinking and acting like a Slave/Servant. Human nature is slavish by default, but the message of Christ brings us into much wider spheres of freedom and liberty. He looks at the key concept of adoption as it was known and used in Greco-Roman times, applying it to the Christian experience. You will find much to chew on.
In this inspirational message, Ps Simon looks at the remarkable story of Jesus calming the wind and waves and applies it to the use of our faith in tempestuous situations. This podcast can be listening to in conjunction with the message from May 5th by Seb Lannuzel.
Easter is the time of the year for celebration and reflection. In this message Ps Simon reads through and reflects on the chapter, Mark 15 – seeing how it applies to us and what it says about Jesus. Happy Easter.
To prosper requires more than just giving - it also requires diligence and wisdom in dealing with our money and resources. Ps Simon McIntyre shares some practical teaching on the 90% which will give you lots of helpful ideas to avoid debt and live with the future in mind.
C3 LEIPZIG / "GROßZÜGIGKEIT" / SIMON MCINTYRE by C3 Leipzig
In this 2 part message, Ps Simon McIntyre explores the question, What grabs your attention the most - God’s Word or World Speak? We are marinated in the clamour of this world’s voices, barely noticing at times. It takes time with Scripture and having our thinking transformed to hear and see with a fresh perspective, a renewed vision, clarity and light.
In the first of two messages about money Ps Simon looks at what we are expected by God’s Word to do with our money. Who gets what, when and why?
To live without goals is to barely live. And to live with goals but no plans is the art of frustration. This incredible ‘I Believe’ message from Ps Simon McIntyre encourages an active faith in what God has said rather than a passive lifestyle, waiting, wishing, wondering. To believe is to act.
Part Two of Reset and Refocus, focuses on the essential spiritual disciplines we need to progress in our faith – giving ourselves a great start and momentum for the year ahead. Ps Simon McIntyre gives attention to how this can be done. This message whilst aimed at spiritual growth is intensely practical. He looks at such things as, how do we read the scriptures, when is the best time to pray?

This episode is the second part in a two-part series with Andy Polaine, the regional APAC design director for Fjord and Simon McIntyre who is the Associate Dean of Education in UNSW, formally COFA, the College of Fine Art and Design. In the first part, we spoke about the problems faced in education and spoke about some of the origins of these problems. This episode builds on that but goes deeper into the work that UNSW is undertaking about redesigning the university with a focus on enabling a culture that will better place their students for the future. What's so good about this combination of Andy and Simon is not only have they worked together before but is the relationship between Andy's service design history and his academic past in teaching in Europe.
