The #BackOffBobbie campaign lives on, because someone has to say what Operation Stork Speed refused to: the real risk in formula isn't just seed oils or trace heavy metals (the red herrings distracting the #MAHA moms). It's cronobacter, a rare but deadly bacteria that continues to fly under the radar while mommy influencers parade USDA organic labels and metal-free test results like gold stars. This week, we're joined by Natasha Vargas-Cooper of Radical Moms Union to expose the uncomfortable truths formula companies don't want mothers to know. We talk about the fox guarding the hen house of formula testing, the 626 NEC lawsuits filed against major manufacturer Abbott, RFK Jr.'s murky ties to the formula industry, and how social media marketing has become the newest weapon against maternal instinct. This conversation isn't about shame. It's about power: power in knowledge, power in truth, and power in numbers. It's time to reclaim motherhood from corporate capture. Get involved with RMU if mobilizing mothers to advocate for change makes you excited!
@Notevend2 talks with Robert Morris' head coach, Andrew Toole on this week's episode. Coach Toole is entering his 16th year as RMU's head coach after spending three seasons on the Colonians staff. Coach Toole was recognized as the 2025 Horizon League Coach of the Year for the first time of his career. Robert Morris also won their first Horizon League championship and earned their third automatic bid into the NCAA tournament.Toole has led the Colonials during the athletic departments transition from the NEC to the Horizon League. In 2020, RMU won the NEC championship and made it to the NCAA tournament a few days before the tournament would get cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That summer Robert Morris announced their move to the Horizon League. Five years later, Toole has brought RMU to the top of the conference.RMU has been to seven national postseason appearances under Coach Toole's guidance. Toole also played in two NCAA tournaments during his playing days at the University of Pennsylvania. The two-time All-Ivy league player came to UPenn after playing his first two years of college basketball at Elon University.Toole talks about the success RMU experienced this past year making it to the big dance, his favorite memories during his own playing career, and the future of the RMU basketball program. This episode is available wherever you listen to your podcasts. What if one conversation could completely change how you advocate for your baby in the NICU? In this episode of the Empowering NICU Parents Podcast, NICU mom and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Nicole Nyberg is joined by Dr. Melinda Elliott, neonatologist and Chief Medical Officer at Prolacta Bioscience. Together, they dive deep into the emotional and clinical realities of life in the NICU—highlighting the critical role that parents play in their baby's care from day one. You'll hear powerful insight on why skin-to-skin contact is far more than a comfort measure, how to ask the right questions about your baby's feeding plan, and why human milk-based fortifiers can be a game changer in preventing serious complications like NEC. And here's something every NICU parent needs to know: just because something is called a “human milk fortifier” doesn't mean it's made from human milk. That's why it's essential to ask what your baby is truly being fed—and why it matters. Whether you're a NICU parent navigating the unknown or a clinician committed to improving outcomes, this conversation will leave you feeling informed, supported, and inspired to take action. Foundations of Amateur Radio Recently I was helping a friend erect their newly refurbished multi-band antenna and during the process we discussed the notion of tuning an antenna that's high in the air. They made a curious response, in that they'd tuned the antenna on the ground before we started. I asked how this would work, since as I understand the process, this changes things once it gets in the air. They assured me that while the actual SWR might change, the frequencies at which it was resonant would not. This was news to me because I've been putting off erecting my own multi-band 6BTV antenna mainly because I didn't really want to face having to erect it, tune it, lower it, modify the elements, erect it, tune it, etc., all whilst standing on the steel roof of my patio. Would this phenomenon be true for my antenna? It occurred to me that I could test this idea, not only for my antenna, but for other antennas as well. In my minds-eye, I saw a video displaying the pertinent attributes of an antenna, SWR, gain, radiation pattern, and whatever else I could think of, animated with the modifications of things like height and ground radials. If this sounds familiar in some way, it's because I've been here before. This time the outcome was slightly different, since I found a tool that can optimise antennas using a genetic algorithm. What I mean by that is an automated process where you can test variations of a thing, in this case antennas. Rather than design each antenna and test it, you essentially generate antenna designs and tweak them to determine the best one. Then you use that to generate the next series of designs. Rinse and repeat until you have what you're looking for. There's a whole field of computer science dedicated to this and unsurprisingly the rabbit hole goes deep. The tool is called "xnec2c-gao" and it's written by Maurizio DC1MDP. The name of the tool hints at its nature, working in combination with "xnec2c", written by Neoklis 5B4AZ and maintained by Eric KJ7LNW, you'll find links to both tools on the xnec2c.org website. How the two tools work together is a beautiful dance. The antenna modelling tool, xnec2c, can read an antenna definition file and detect if it changes, at which point it can redo the simulation, which it can output to another file. The genetic algorithm optimisation tool, xnec2c-gao, can detect the changed output and update the antenna definition file, and the process repeats. Which brings me to a pro-tip, for this to work, you need to configure xnec2c to do two things, detect the changed definition file, and write the output to CSV, both of these options can be found in the "Optimization Settings" menu, just so you don't spend an hour banging your head against the desk. Between the two tools, the antenna definition evolves and you end up with a design optimised for your purpose. The default does this for SWR and gain. Mind you, I tested a multi-band dipole which managed to find some interesting designs, but didn't pick them because a low SWR combined with a high gain, for reason't I don't yet understand, wasn't considered better than a high SWR with a high gain, so there's some work to be done. As a software developer I have a sneaking suspicion that it's adding the two, rather than picking the highest gain combined with the lowest SWR, but I haven't confirmed that. As I said, deep rabbit hole. While we're not yet at the video display stage, for the first time I can get a sense that this might come to pass. There's plenty of work to be done. For example, the antenna display on xnec2c during the process seems broken, there's no way to output gnuplot files during the process, and capturing the various charts in real-time will require work, but all that seems if not easy, at least possible. Meanwhile, I'm attempting to locate an antenna definition file, preferably in .NEC format for my 6BTV antenna, so I can use this combination of tools to discover if tuning it on the ground will work and while I'm at it, discover if the installation I'm working on will give me something worthwhile. I realise that this is well beyond "try it and see", but my body isn't up to climbing up and down ladders 17 times in a day and I think that getting a feel for what might occur is a good way to learn. When was the last time you climbed on a roof and what did you do to avoid it? I'm Onno VK6FLAB
Master The NEC | Episode 26 is about the importance of Pull Calculations in medium to large scale projects where the owners, such as the Amazon's of the world, and the electrical contractor and electrical design professional want a third part to do pull calculations to ensure the utmost accuracy of the pull by reducing the risk of conductor damage during the pull but also long term.Remember, the product is only successful if the conductors or cable are not damaged. A code compliant installation of raceways do not always mean the conductors will go into the raceway system without damage to the installation. We provide specific Check Lists to every pull based on our analysis of each individual pull. The newest trend is to asign this assurance to the experts and our PullSPEC™ services provides that extra level of assurance. All pull calculations and analysis reports are confirmed by wire and cable experts with over 11 years of dedicated service to that industry as well as nearly 40 years of NEC expertise.Listen as Paul Abernathy, CEO, and Founder of Electrical Code Academy, Inc., the leading electrical educator in the country, discusses electrical code, electrical trade, and electrical business-related topics to help electricians maximize their knowledge and industry investment. If you are looking to learn more about the National Electrical Code, for electrical exam preparation, or to better your knowledge of the NEC then visits https://fasttraxsystem.com for all the electrical code training you will ever need by the leading electrical educator in the country with the best NEC learning program on the planet.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/master-the-nec-podcast--1083733/support.

(19:48) Joe - Can you speak to the 7th day Adventist claim that the Catholic Church changed the day of rest. (27:22) Tom - We can't look at this with fear! We must live in the glory of Christ and the potential of martyrdom. (36:43) Terry - My friend doesn't see herself as a Protestant and just as a Christian. How do I explain it to her that she is outside of the Church and therefore a protestant? (40:10)
Send us a textAs Mercyhurst University makes its ambitious leap into NCAA Division I men's lacrosse, one name to watch between the pipes is sophomore goalie Jaret Jawor.A native of Lockport, Illinois, Jawor played his high school lacrosse at Wheaton Academy, where he developed into a strong and athletic netminder. Now standing at 6-foot-3, Jawor brings size, reach, and a calming presence to the crease—traits that are quickly turning heads in his second collegiate season.Jawor made his college debut in 2024, seeing time in six games as a freshman. He made 21 saves while posting a 6.95 goals-against average and an impressive .618 save percentage, finishing the season with a 1–0 record. His early showings hinted at potential, and in 2025, that potential has started to materialize. This season, Jawor has stepped into a more active role, appearing in five games and making one start. Across 143 minutes of action, he's registered:38 saves36 goals against15.06 GAA.514 save percentage1–1 overall recordBut the numbers only tell part of the story. In NEC conference play, Jawor has stepped up under pressure, delivering a .571 save percentage across two appearances—highlighted by a standout 19-save performance against Robert Morris. Though the Lakers didn't secure the win, Jawor's poise and shot-stopping ability stood out in a hard-fought matchup. The 2025 season is a landmark one for Mercyhurst. After years of dominance at the Division II level, the Lakers have entered the Division I stage with a youthful roster, a new head coach in Trey Keeley, and something to prove. While postseason eligibility will have to wait, performances from players like Jawor have helped Mercyhurst secure key wins—most notably a dominant 22–6 victory over Hampton. As Mercyhurst builds its foundation in Division I, Jaret Jawor is emerging as a core piece of that future. With two years of eligibility left and a growing confidence in the cage, expect Jawor to continue evolving into one of the NEC's top goaltenders.Keep your eye on No. 12—he's just getting started. Enjoy my conversation with future star Jaret Jawor.Support the show

In this week's coaching conversation, Mount St Mary's head coach Donny Lind joins the Basketball Podcast to share insights on exceeding expectations.Donny Lind just completed his first season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Mount St. Mary's University. In his debut season (2024-2025), Lind orchestrated a remarkable turnaround for the Mountaineers. Picked 11th out of 13 teams in the MAAC preseason poll, Lind guided the team to a 23-13 overall record and a 12-8 mark in conference play, finishing tied for fourth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The season was highlighted by a run through the MAAC Tournament, where the Mountaineers secured victories over Marist, Merrimack, and ultimately Iona in the championship game. This MAAC Tournament title marked the university's first championship in any sport since becoming a full MAAC member and earned them an automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Tournament. In the NCAA Tournament, the #16-seeded Mountaineers achieved the program's third-ever NCAA Tournament win with an 83-72 First Four victory over #16 seed American. Their inspiring tournament journey concluded in the First Round against #1 seed Duke.Donny Lind's impressive first year at the helm has garnered him recognition as a finalist for the Joe B. Hall Award, which honors the top first-time head coach in Division I college basketball. The team's 23 wins represent the highest win total for the program as a Division I institution and the most wins in a season for Mount St. Mary's since the 1986-87 season. Notably, his First Four victory also gave him the most wins for a first-year head coach in the Mount's history, surpassing the legendary Jim Phelan's first-year record. Before taking the head coaching position at Mount St. Mary's, Lind built a strong foundation as an assistant coach at several programs:VCU (Video Coordinator, 2010-2013): Lind began his post-graduate career at VCU, contributing through film analysis, analytics, and assisting with player development under Shaka Smart.Mount St. Mary's (Assistant Coach, 2013-2016): In his first stint at Mount St. Mary's, Lind served as the recruiting coordinator and helped assemble what is considered the winningest class in school history. The team won the NEC Tournament and reached the NCAA Tournament during his time. The Mountaineers consistently led the NEC in key offensive categories during his tenure.Radford University (Assistant Coach, 2016-2021): Working under Mike Jones, Lind was part of a staff that led Radford to back-to-back Big South regular-season titles (2018-19, 2019-20) and the 2017-18 Big South Tournament title, resulting in the program's first NCAA Tournament win in the First Four. He was recognized as a Top 50 Impactful Low Major Coach in Division I.UNC Greensboro (Assistant Coach, 2021-2024): Lind continued his successful assistant coaching career at UNC Greensboro, again under Mike Jones. The Spartans earned a #2 seed in the SoCon during his tenure.Donny Lind's return to Mount St. Mary's has already proven to be a significant success, marked by a conference championship and an NCAA Tournament victory in his very first season as a head coach. His ability to connect with players and implement an effective coaching strategy has clearly resonated with the team, setting a promising trajectory for the program's future.
May is Electrical Safety Month, which is a good time to remember that dozens of people across the world suffer injuries from electrical hazards every single day. Survivors of these incidents list a range of devastating symptoms, from burns and chronic pain to insomnia, muscle spasms, depression, and various other mental health issues. Many of the full effects of these injuries are still not fully understood. Today on the podcast, we revisit a 2021 episode featuring three renowned doctors from the Chicago Electrical Trauma Rehabilitation Institute. They talk about what a powerful shock can do to the human body, the treatments available, and how our understanding of these injuries is still evolving.
