In early January, Volker left on a six month road trip through South America. In March we recorded our first podcast as he wound up a two month visit to Peru. Martin Helseth has always been drawn to the water. As a kid in Norway, he spent as much time beneath the surface as he did on it—free diving from a boat his father built, discovering a sense of calm and freedom below. Not long after, he found that same feeling in a rowing shell, first picking up the sport at age 10. Through persistence and a deep connection to the water, he rose through the Norwegian system to become a two-time Olympian, competing in both Tokyo and Paris. All the while, free diving remained a constant. In Norway's fjords and lakes, it became more than just an escape—it became a lens. What he saw below the surface was changing. Pollution and marine debris were becoming impossible to ignore. What started as solo cleanups in his spare time grew into something much bigger. Martin began mobilizing his local community, then the rowing world, turning his personal mission into a collective effort. In 2024, he was named a World Rowing Healthy Waters Alliance Ambassador. Now, in partnership with organizations like World Rowing, and the World Wildlife Fund, along with rowing clubs around the globe, Martin is helping lead a movement—one that connects athletes, waterways, and stewardship, and pushes the sport toward a more active role in protecting the environments it depends on. Aujourd'hui, je vous emmène en Norvège avec Justine, son mari Valentin et leurs deux filles, Mia et Romy, qui avaient 7 ans et 3 ans au moment du voyage. Une famille qui passe sans transition de la galère au confort… selon l'envie du moment.L'été 2022, ils ont pris la route depuis Lille en fourgon aménagé, direction le Danemark puis un ferry de nuit jusqu'à Kristiansand en Norvège. Sur le papier, tout était calé… et très vite, ils ont tout lâché pour suivre une seule chose : le soleil. Ils sont montés vers Røldal puis Odda, ont longé les fjords jusqu'à Koppang, avec des routes bien plus longues que prévu et des ferries qui s'invitent sans prévenir. Puis ils ont ralenti, en restant là où il faisait beau, entre petites balades, jeux pour les enfants et baignades dans l'eau BIEN fraîche des fjords. Quatre milliards avaient été prévus dans le projet de loi de finance 2026, avant qu'un amendement soit voté à la surprise générale (196 voix pour, 149 contre). Le vote a fracturé le bloc central : Renaissance et LR ont rejeté le texte, contrairement au Modem qui a voté comme LFI, les communistes, le PS, les écologistes. L'extrême droite et la droite fustigent une « folie fiscale ».Le Palais Bourbon est le théâtre de débats houleux depuis le début des débats sur le budget. Les socialistes profitent de leur pouvoir de vie ou de mort sur le gouvernement pour faire monter les enchères. Ils réclament une taxe Zucman « light », ce que refuse l'exécutif. Une stratégie du compromis qui irrite le reste de la gauche et ravive les tensions entre les anciens alliés du Nouveau Front Populaire.
