It began as an act of compassion — and ended in terror. In 2012, a man armed with a spirit box and a K2 meter began helping what he believed were lost souls cross over into the light. Following the advice of a spiritual author, he devoted his evenings to guiding voices that cried out for help. For months, he felt like a savior of the dead. Then one night, everything changed. During a late-night session in his garage, a voice cut through the static — calm but chilling: “I'm evil.” What followed defied logic. His body began to vibrate violently from the inside out, as if something unseen had entered him. The next morning, he awoke to a text on his phone that he didn't write: “I hope you slept well.”   The haunting escalated: bite marks, scratches on his child, and unseen attacks that terrorized their home until a paranormal investigator performed a full cleansing. Afterward, the air felt lighter — but something told him not to test fate again. We present our review of Babymetal - Metal Forth and more!Babymetal's Metal Forth, released August 8th, 2025, on Capitol Records. It's officially their fourth canonical album — they set The Other One aside as a concept project — and it's the first full record to feature Momometal as a permanent member alongside Su-metal and Moametal.The title is a play on words: “Metal Forth” as in moving forward, and “Metal Forth” as in pushing beyond the genre itself. And that's exactly what they try to do. This record is built almost entirely on collaborations. Only three of the ten tracks are just Babymetal. Everywhere else you've got guests: Poppy, Spiritbox, Polyphia, Electric Callboy, Slaughter to Prevail, Bloodywood, even Tom Morello dropping in with that unmistakable guitar attack.Clocking in at just over 35 minutes, it's lean, polished, and loud. You get flashes of nu-metal, deathcore, alt-metal, even EDM crossover, all stitched together by Babymetal's trademark pop-metal energy. It's maximalist by design — a chaos of styles colliding with choreography and gloss.Critics were split but mostly positive. Clash called it “unrelentingly maximalist” and gave it a 7 out of 10. Blabbermouth went higher with an 8, praising it as their snappiest record to date. Kerrang! and Dork both landed at 4 out of 5, while NME and Sputnikmusic were less impressed, arguing that some collabs drowned out the band's core identity. Louder Sound described it as “a high-stakes experiment in what heavy music could become if it stopped worrying about authenticity and genre loyalty.”And that's the big takeaway: Metal Forth isn't about purity, it's about possibility. Babymetal has always been divisive, but here they lean into that division as a statement. The album says metal can be pop, it can be global, it can be hybridized beyond recognition — and still be metal. Love it or hate it, Metal Forth proves that Babymetal aren't just survivors of their own gimmick. Ghost Investigation - Avation Museum Part 3 Spirit Box session with Brandon - Episode 208Back at the Infamous Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada,Home - Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada located beside the Richardson Airport in Winnipeg, Manitoba......and its HAUNTED!!!! even the volunteers and staff know its haunted. You have to remember these planes and artifacts carry ALOT of energy. Some people have even died in these planes that have been repaired to keep on display. Today's episode "Spirit Box Session with Brandon' we stray away from some of the groups, by Brandon, one of the members of The Winnipeg Paranormal Group who tells us "I sense some energy by the Air Canada plane and was going to do a Spirit Box Session to see if I could get some answers'., Say less Brandon, we are there!  A little background about this plane, it is said that someone passed away, from a possible heartattack while in flight. Others were doing investigations inside the plane and we had felt a little disorientated (Twilight zoned) when we exted the plane in the first episode. Other cool things discussed in this episode were the creepy mannequins used in the planes in teh museum and The Ghost of Charron lake - a plane that crashed in the lake and wasn't found till 50 years later. We deeply thank Kelly and Ashley, once again, for allowing us to tag along to record some of the stories while we investgated. In this episode of Spirit Box, I had the pleasure of speaking with folklorist and writer Scott Richardson-Read the brilliant mind behind Cailleach's Herbarium. The focus of today's chat is Scott's new book 'Mill Dust And Dreaming Bread, exploring Scottish folk belief & folk magic'. Together, we explore the deep roots of Scottish folk beliefs, looking at how animistic worldviews were layered over time with Christian, Norse, and Anglo-Saxon influence. Scott introduced me to the Gaelic concept of Dùthchas—the inherited right to place and belonging—and we discussed its significance in shaping Highland identity and political history. We also touched on the shared rhythms of Irish and Scottish Gaelic, the legacy of Alexander Carmichael and the Carmina Gadelica, and the enduring power of charms and spoken magic. One story that really stood out was that of St. Columba lending out his sacred book, only to burn it upon its return—a tale that sparked a discussion about healing, miracle-working, and the threads of folk magic that persist beneath the surface of Christianity. Through it all, Scott painted a vivid picture of a world where people lived in deep, reciprocal relationship with land, weather, ancestors, and the unseen. In the Plus show we ventured deeper into the mythic and cosmological territory of his book. We talked about the Three Worlds, the Primordial Twin, and how these ancient ideas mirror spiritual systems across the globe. We explored the notion of a pact between realms, the sacred nature of hospitality, and what it means to live in a world where everything is animate and interconnected. One of the most fascinating parts of the Plus Show was our discussion on the origins of spoken healing charms—those poetic, potent utterances passed down through families to stop bleeding, mend bones, or ward off illness. Scott spoke beautifully about how these charms carry ancestral knowledge, and I shared stories of people I know who still use them today. We also talked about the Cailleach, the powerful old woman of Gaelic tradition—part ancestor, part deity—who shapes weather and land and who remains a potent figure in both lore and personal practice. Scott spoke about how the Cailleach features in his work and how she represents the deep animism and ecological awareness at the heart of Scottish folk cosmology. We closed our conversation reflecting on the deep-time resonance of folklore—from the Milky Way as the Path of the White Cow to the sacred symbolism of rivers, straw, and cows. This wasn't just a discussion about stories; it was about remembering who we are, where we come from, and how we might live again in right relationship with the world around us.
