The challenging Mexican film WE ARE THE FLESH takes us some dark and disgusting places as we talk about movies that have shocked us, would we eat human flesh and what makes us wanna throw up. Somehow we also connect this film to the musical "Rent" and Ed talks about rescuing a GI Joe figure from a horrible fate (not as a child, just recently). As always please rate the podcast-- although we know you won't! But please do. On our next episode: KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE w/ special guest!

Well it's back to a solo episode for DOOM ASYLUM. Where to begin? It's a lot like HELLGATE and THE MUTILATOR except much worse yet still-- kind of lovable? When a group of teens (including a young Kristin Davis and FRANKENHOOKER star Patty Mullen!) visit an abandoned asylum in New Jersey, they find themselves getting picked off one by one by a deranged lawyer turned mortician named Mitch. Who will survive?! Will we?! Will anyone rate and review the podcast?! Theme song by Matt Akers! Check out his bandcamp. We'll be back on Sept 15 with a guest for WE ARE THE FLESH.

Episode 66 of One Week Only! Our key film this week is the quirky love triangle comedy "I Love You Both" about two inseparable Twins who live together, but find their relationship tested when they both fall in love with the same guy. With sharply drawn characters and biting humor, this is a richly entertaining take on the romantic comedy, along with a touching portrait of a brother & sister. Directed by Doug Archibald, who stars with his real-life sister (and co-writer) Kristin Archibald, it is now playing in Los Angeles and available on VOD. (51:45) It's a big weekend for film festivals in Los Angeles! We talk about what to see at Dances With Films, Hola Mexico Film Festival and the LA Greek Film Festival. Carlos will be moderating the Q&As for the disturbing horror film "We Are The Flesh" on Friday and Saturday night! We reviewed the film back in Episode 46. (1:00) We also review biting social satire "Beatriz at Dinner" starring Salma Hayek and John Lithgow, directed by Miguel Arteta (14:55); New York crime drama "11:55" directed by Ari Issler & Ben Snyder (24:00); Puerto Rican multi-story drama "La Granja" (The Farm) directed by Angel Manuel Soto (34:10); and the Russian ensemble drama "Moscow Never Sleeps" directed by Irish filmmaker Johnny O'Reilly (41:45). Tracy and Minki watched a porn on Mother’s Day...or so it seems. That’s right—these dedicated hosts ditched their moms to watch and discuss this Mexican horror. There is definitely lots of nudity, close-up shots of genitalia and graphic sex scenes in this unique film. Oh wait, there was also some murder and cannibalism, but definitely less of that in this art-house, surreal erotic horror. Nice camera and lighting work, mixed with a solid portrayal of a mad man who has a very strange desire to return to the safety and warmth of his mother’s womb (HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!) should make up for the strange plot and excessively long scenes, but...not so much. For the most part, this movie doesn’t live up to its name...as a horror. Though, maybe the word “Flesh” was more indicative of all the nakedness. So, tune in to hear them recount this dreamlike, or rather, nightmarish movie.

We're back, a-holes! Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan have returned from the cosmic Marvel universe to talk about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy, directed by James Gunn again. Once again, the film stars all your Guardians and a few new cast members like Kurt Russell and Elizabeth Debicki. We talk about the film's humor, soundtrack, and visuals, which are all par for the course in this series. However, we also discuss the weirdly dark nature of the film, as well as the development of the film's central villain. Oh, and I guess we don't agree on Baby Groot. As always though, we have our news and Blu-ray releases to discuss. This week, you don't have many options other than to purchase the Director's Definitive Edition of Heat, presuming you don't already own the movie. For things to watch from this year though, we also talked about The Most Hated Woman in America and We Are The Flesh. Next week, we will return with our review of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Film Fallout is a weekly podcast about film and television. Every week, Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan discuss news happening in the industry, blu-ray releases coming out this week, what they’ve been watching, and then a review of one movie. You can listen to it on SoundCloud, iTunes, or on BagoGames. Also follow us on Instagram for some behind-the-scenes magic. We are both on Twitter, if you’d like to follow us there. Chris is @HammerkopCross, Dylan is @DreaminDylanS, and you can follow the podcast @Filmfalloutcast. And finally, there is a Facebook page for the podcast if you’d like to ‘like’ us on that.

Episode 46 of One Week Only! We have some very weird films for you this week! Our key film is "We Are The Flesh," a deranged but strikingly beautiful horror film about two teenagers lost in ruined city, who come across a dangerous man who offers to help them survive. Directed by Emiliano Rocha Minter and starring Noé Hernández, this is a bold, perverse but visually arresting piece of horror filmmaking. It has already played in Los Angeles, but opens in New York this week, from Arrow Films. Another deeply strange film this week is the French comedy "Staying Vertical" by Alain Guiraudie (Stranger by the Lake) about a wandering filmmaker who accidentally becomes a father. We also review the twisty neo-noir thriller "Detour" by Christopher Smith, about two possible realities for a young man on a quest for revenge. We're attending the Sundance & Slamdance Film Festivals this weekend, so we'll have coverage of the films we see in our next Episode! Hosted by Carlos Aguilar & Conor Holt.
