Ciao. Rocket Beans wird unterstützt von fritz-kola. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Fehlanzeige. Vielleicht in „Lovely, Dark and Deep“? Nope. „Babygirl“: erniedrigender Erotikthriller. „Exterritorial“: Soldatin mit PTSD zerhackt das US-Generalkonsulat. Ja Sapperlot. Wirklich? Nichts? Gar nichts??? Doch!

Comedians [Derek] Drescher & [Geo] Perez from the On The Gate podcast are on the fence about Zac Amico introducing them to this movie! One traumatically scarring night in Paris with lasting consequences unfolds for the audience in reverse chronological order, calling into question our morals and motives for consuming the very medium that contains it. Starring the ever-lovely [Monica] Belluci and her now ex-husband [Vincent] Cassell, and from the deranged mind of one esteemed French director (Gaspar Noé), it's the infamous, Irreversible.Air Date: 01/10/25Support Our Sponsors!Fans over the age of 21, go to YoDelta.com and use promo code GAS for 25% OFF your order!Fans over the age of 21, visit YoKratom.com for all your Kratom needs. Time Destroys Everything - Gaspar Noé's Irreversible We're closing in on our two final films in our "Dark Cinema" showcase. This week we look at Gaspar Noé's 2002 controversial and troubling film, Irreversible. Arguably one of the most difficult viewing experiences ever unleashed on movie-watching audiences, Noé's exploration on storytelling (a backwards playing narrative) could have easily been a gimmick with little to say in the way of exploring themes, however Noé deftly handles the obvious showboating of such a technique to add a true, honest, and enlightening understanding of his story of a brutal rape and beating, revenge, mistaken identity, and murder. This is not a film for the easily offended, but it's also not for those looking for the extreme violence and blood-lust of a Death Wish 2 or I Spit on Your Grave. With Irreversible, Noé has crafted a truly powerful and beautifully realized look at violence, sexual violence, and the unfolding of time and it's commentary on the aforementioned. Take a listen and let us know what you think. It's a deep and thoughtful conversation. We continue to be reached at gondoramos@yahoo.com. Beyond producing, George brings a wealth of experience in location management, having worked on major productions like JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX (2024) and INSIDIOUS: THE RED DOOR (2023). We dive into some of George's favorite film moments, including Gaspar Noé's CLIMAX (2018), David Fincher's GONE GIRL (2014), and Danny Boyle's SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE (2008), exploring what makes these scenes unforgettable.

He also speaks to BAFTA-winning writer-director Daisy-May Hudson about her film Lollipop.Pasquale offers some thoughts on two of EIFF's In Conversation events, the first featuring Gaspar Noé, the innovative, boundary-pushing director of Irreversible (2002) and Enter the Void (2009), the other featuring Oscar-winning film editor Thelma Schoonmaker, best known for her long collaboration with director Martin Scorsese on films such as Raging Bull (1980), Goodfellas (1990) and, most recently, Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)

One of THE MOST trippy and eyeopening, shocking, controversial films from one of the most notorious film directors, Gaspar Noé. He goes for shock value and man does he deliver in this film!
Tokyo Book of the Dead: Gaspar Noé's Enter the Void This week Mr. Chavez and I examine the work of a controversial and polarizing director, Gaspar Noé. Noé made headlines in the early 2000s with Irreversible, a film that continues to upset audiences and challenges filmmaking conventions. With Enter the Void (2009), Noé doubled down and created a film that divided critics calling it both "captivating and innovative" and "tedious and puerile." The argument continues on this week's episode. Watch the film, listen, and agree or disagree. The Undercast crew dives into Gaspar Noé's existential meditation of life, death, and drugs, which naturally bombed at the box office. The crew discusses the "death of the author" and their favorite experimental films. *Near the end of the episode Derick mistakenly identifies Michel Gondry as the writer of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and "I'm Thinking of Ending Things," it is actually Charlie Kaufman. Subscriber-only episodeDisclaimer: this episode contains sexually explicit clips.Camp counselors Jackie and Greg tackle the raciest film they've yet to cover for the podcast: Gaspar Noé's 3D sex-movie LOVE from 2015. Topics of discussion include Noé as a provocateur, the difference between pornography and art, sex as a means of storytelling, Noé's innovative use of music, and the shallow characters at the center of the film. The monthly "S'mores" series is an offshoot from our main series, where Jackie and Greg explore less "prestigious" films, which typically fall under the banner of underground, cult, camp, genre, and B-movies. In diesem Sinne: Guns, lots of guns…. und alles Gute. Bleibt gesund und gut drauf. Denn: so ist das Leben.
Cade and Diane are joined by Sam Carrico (host of the Film Fanclub Show) to discuss two dark films set in 1990's Europe: Climax (2018) and Kill Your Friends (2015). Watch the video version at: YouTube.com/@CadeThomas/streams Check out Sam's YouTube channel here: YouTube.com/@TheFilmFanclub Double Feature Movie Club is a weekly movie review show with a retro vibe. Two movies. Three people. One rambling conversation. Each film is our first time watching them. We often go off-topic. Climax is a 2018 psychological horror film directed, written, and co-edited by Gaspar Noé. Featuring an ensemble cast of 24 actors, led by Sofia Boutella, the plot is set in 1996 and follows a French dance troupe holding a days-long rehearsal in an abandoned school; the final night of rehearsing is a success, but the group's celebratory after-party takes a dark turn when the communal bowl of sangria is spiked with LSD, sending each of the dancers into agitated, confused and psychotic states. Kill Your Friends is a 2015 British satirical black comedy crime-thriller film directed by Owen Harris and written by John Niven based on his 2008 novel of the same name. The film stars Nicholas Hoult, Craig Roberts, Tom Riley, and Georgia King.
Over the last year, The Nose has covered 14 of this year's Academy Award-nominated movies, encompassing 64 nominations. So on this special edition of The Nose, we look back at our discussions of nominated movies, and we look ahead to Sunday's Oscars ceremony with film and television star (and Oscars voter) Illeana Douglas. Some of the movies covered include: The Banshees of Inisherin, Elvis, Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Fabelmans, Tár, Top Gun: Maverick, Triangle of Sadness, Turn Every Page: The Adventures of Robert Caro and Robert Gottlieb, The Whale, Women Talking, and more. Note: This special two-part Oscars season finale edition of The Nose, airing over two days on the radio, is presented here as one double-length (or so) episode. Some other stuff that happened this week, give or take: Tom Sizemore, Intense Actor With a Troubled Life, Dies at 61 He earned praise for his work in films like “Saving Private Ryan” and “Black Hawk Down.” He also served prison time for drug possession and domestic abuse. Robert Blake, ‘Baretta' Star Acquitted in Wife's Murder, Dies at 89 His film and TV career began with “Our Gang” comedies and was highlighted by his performance as a killer in “In Cold Blood.” But he led a tempestuous life. Topol, Star of ‘Fiddler on the Roof' Onscreen and Onstage, Dies at 87 Wide acclaim for his portrayal of Tevye helped make him, according to one newspaper, “Israel's most famous export since the Jaffa orange.” Ricou Browning, Who Made the Black Lagoon Scary, Dies at 93 He helped bring “Flipper” to the movies and TV but was best known for his plunge in a monster suit in “Creature From the Black Lagoon.” This is the most populist Oscars in a long time So why doesn't it feel like it? The Stunt Awards Vulture's inaugural celebration of stunt professionals is here. Because if the Oscars won't recognize them, we will. Who Are You Rooting Against at the Oscars This Year? And the Oscar Goes to…The Guy Who Inspired Big League Chew? Todd Field is the Oscar-nominated director of ‘Tár.' Major League Baseball players are more familiar with his shredded bubble gum. The Year the Movies Died (Over and Over and Over Again) Joseph Kosinski Doesn't See Top Gun: Maverick As an Action Movie Bad Projection Is Ruining the Movie Theater Experience Multiplexes are failing at their most basic function: delivering a bright, sharp image.
