Welcome back to the Always Bayern Chelsea show. Episode 82 is a VIDEO episode that you can check out on the Always Bayern Chelsea YouTube channel. Subscribe to the Always Bayern Chelsea YouTube channel to stay up to date with all of the latest. In this one we break down everything from Chelsea's 3-0 win over Legia Warszawa in the UEFA Conference League Quarterfinal first leg, to a wild 2-2 Der Klassiker between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, to Chelsea's embarrassing 2-2 draw with Ipswich town in the English Premiere League, to all sorts of previews for upcoming UCL European & domestic matches, to a live reaction of the Masters golf tournament. This episode truly has it all. We kick things off with a brief overview of Chelsea beating Legia. We talk about some of Enzo Maresca's tactics, lineup choices, player performances, and of course match highlights. Some influential sub choices were made as Noni Madueke scored a brace, along with Tyrique George getting a goal and Jadon Sancho providing two assists. Chelsea returns to Stamford Bridge for the second leg of this Conference League tie on Thursday 4/17. It may be Conference League or bust for Chelsea this season. Later in the episode we also hit on Chelsea's 2-2 draw against Ipswich town after going down 0-2 to start the match. Jadon Sancho was the hero with a goal assisted by goal Palmer after an own goal by Ipswich. We discuss lineups, tactics, player performances, match highlights, and the state of the team at the moment, as well as Chelsea's future this season. Is Enzo to blame for their struggles? Which players are at fault? Chelsea now has an Easter matchup with Fulham on 4/20 in the EPL. This episode also includes a full breakdown of the rollercoaster Der Klasskier between Bayern and Dortmund this weekend as well. We hit on Thomas Muller's lights out performance in his final Der Klassiker with Bayern providing an assist along with Josip Stanisic. Raphael Guerreiro and Serge Gnabry got the goals for Bayern. We saw another match where the Bavarians failed to capitalize on their chances before collapsing defensively. It wasn't total frustration though, we review Vincent Kompany's lineup/tactics, as well as player performances, match highlights, and match awards. Bayern Munich has a lot on their plates heading to Italy to face off with Inter Milan in a do or die Champions League Quarterfinal. We preview that match and what needs to happen to secure a comeback win as the Bavarians head in down 1-2. We also talk Bundesliga where Bayern remains 6 points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen in the table with 5 match days remaining. We're hoping Bayern doesn't join the list of choking teams we support as they head to Heidenheim on 4/19. Subscribe to the YouTube channel to stay updated! Thanks for listening/watching. It's the German clásico, Der Klassiker, though BORUSSIA DORTMUND are not having a classic season. After a recent uptick in form, they're still eighth and just trying to get a ticket — any ticket — to Europe next season. Come to think of it, that 4-0 thrashing from Barcelona in the Champions League quarterfinals this week might have put them off the whole business. And then there's BAYERN MUNICH, back to being Bayern domestically. They're six points clear of current adversaries Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the Bundesliga, and they seem to be on pace to secure Harry Kane his first career trophy. But there are still questions swirling around manager Vincent Kompany, and a recent spate of injuries — especially to thrilling young star Jamal Musiala — might have just created an opening for Dortmund here.Joining the show to chat about all that and more is Markus Fjørtoft, a former professional footballer who now hosts The Fussball Podcast with his dad, Jan Åge Fjørtoft, who was himself a pro in the Bundesliga and beyond. Man oh man has there been a lot of news lately. Subscribe to the Always Bayern Chelsea YouTube channel to stay up to date with all of the latest coverage and to join this growing community of football fans. Danny kicks this one off by delivering the most impassioned breakdown of his career covering Bayern Munich while sick with a cold. Call it his flu game. Bayern Munich beat an in-form FC Augsburg 3-1 in a fun Bundesliga battle under the Friday night lights. But at what cost? Bayern Munich lost Jamal Musiala for the season with a hamstring tear, adding to the list of crucial players who are injured. It looks like Bayern will be desperate for the services of cast aside club LEGEND Thomas Muller after all. Don't worry, Danny sheds some light on this situation as well with his thoughts on how bad of a look it is for Bayern. Back to the match, we offer a full breakdown of Vincent Kompany's lineup, tactics, player performances, all of the match highlights, and even match awards for the key players. Jamal Musiala scored the first goal for Bayern Munich before getting hurt with a nice turnaround shot when Leroy Sane found him with a beautiful ball into the box. Harry Kane drew a second yellow card on a risky challenge from Zesiger sending Augsburg down to ten men before scoring the go ahead goal with a perfect assist from Michael Olise. On this week's main show, Manu and Stefan try and squeeze a podcast episode in between matchday 16 and matchday 17 of the Bundesliga season. With plans to focusing on the intriguing battles in the middle of the table later in the week, the pair look over the two big clashes at the weekend. They start with Borussia Dortmund's bruising 3-2 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Friday night and what the result says about the state of both squads at this stage of the season. And then they go on to talk about Bayern Munich's 1-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach and why a relatively narrow victory in the real Der Klassiker may have actually been a pretty decent performance from Vincent Kompany's side.

On the first Bundesliga preview show of 2025, Manu and Stefan are back to discuss the three most intriguing games of Matchday 16. They kick things off with Bayer Leverkusen's trip to Borussia Dortmund on Friday night and discuss whether this clash is more of a must-win game for Xabi Alonso or Nuri Sahin. The duo then move on to Eintracht Frankfurt's away game at St Pauli, where a typically stubborn host will be looking to spoil the party for the Eagles, while keeping one of European football's most in-form forward quiet. They then wrap up the show by discussing the real “Der Klassiker” as Bayern Munich travel to Borussia Park to take on an impressive Borussia Mönchengladbach team without star player Jamal Musiala. Enjoy!

Pol Ballús, Julien Laurens, Seb Stafford Bloor and James Horncastle are alongside Jimbo for your weekly fix of continental action. La Liga is getting rather interesting all of a sudden, as Barcelona fell to a shock 2-1 defeat by Las Palmas - their first victory away at Barca since 1971! Real Madrid took full advantage and bounced back from their midweek Champions League disappointment at Anfield with a 2-0 win over Getafe. It means they're just a point behind Hansi Flick's side with a game in hand. But who's that in third and just a point further behind… a resurgent Atlético Madrid?! Atalanta are showing they mean business in Serie A this season as they recorded their eighth straight win in all competitions with a 2-0 victory at Roma on Monday night. They're just a point behind leaders Napoli, who were 1-0 winners at Torino thanks to Scott McTominay's first half strike. But there were scary scenes in Fiorentina as their match with Inter was suspended and then abandoned when Edoardo Bove collapsed in the 16th minute. Thankfully the news since has been positive after receiving treatment in hospital.  It ended 1-1 in Der Klassiker between Dortmund and Bayern on Saturday evening, but there's concern for Harry Kane who went off early with what appeared to be a hamstring injury. Eintracht Frankfurt were big 4-0 winners in Heidenheim on Sunday to close the gap on Bayern at the top of the table to four points. And in Ligue 1, PSG's poor week continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Nantes - the first time they've come from behind to take a point all season. But despite dropping points Luis Enrique's side are seven points clear at the top of the table - and have Marseille to thank following their 2-1 win over Monaco.  RUNNING ORDER:  • PART 1: Moment of the weekend and latest on Edoardo Bove - (00.45) • PART 2: Bundesliga review - Dortmund and Bayern share the spoils as Leipzig's horror season continues (13.00) • PART 3: Ligue 1 review - Disgruntlement in Paris as PSG held (26.40) • PART 4: La Liga review - Barcelona's mini slump continues while Real and Atleti close the gap (37.40) • PART 5: Serie A review - Napoli's slender win keeps them ahead of a charging Atalanta (50.30) Learn more about your ad choices.
