Well, it's been a few months. Quite frankly, Disney's recent political missteps have really given us a lot to think about. The two of us (Mike and Dave) make this little show because we love the history of the films and theme parks of Disney - but their involvement with funding politicians pushing discriminatory legislation made us wonder over the past few months about whether we could continue supporting them. In this pretty freewheeling episode, we talk through our feelings on the issue. We would love to hear your opinions: addmoremouse@gmail.com.

It's your boys Dave and Mike returning to your ear holes with a new episode of The Add More Mouse podcast! We interrupt our Disney Documentaries miniseries to revisit and update one of earliest series that looked at Disney attractions that were made into movies. With the new Jungle Cruise film finally hitting Disney+ this month, we felt the need to dive in. We look at the Easter eggs that point to the longtime attraction, and we discuss our opinion on the movie's ranking in the Disney attraction-to-film pantheon. We also try to unravel the ridiculously complicated plot of this film that is about a whole lot more than just cruising the jungle. This is a wild one, folks. Well, as wild as we get, anyway. This episode is the fourth installment of our “Disney Docs” series…as in “documentaries.” And this one truly lives up to its name: The Sweatbox. Only available as a bootleg on certain streaming sites, this documentary chronicles the making of The Emperor's New Groove, starting at the very beginning when the cast, script, title, music and director were all completely different. But is there a good reason this movie remains unavailable on reputable streaming sites? Why does Disney not acknowledge its existence? Ahead of that we tackle some important things, like Bluey, Prop Culture, and Ohio weather. It wouldn't be Add More Mouse if we didn't spend time talking about the weather. In this episode we’re looking at a true Disney 90’s classic, Cool Runnings. Mike and Dave take you through what parts of this movie were taken from real life and which parts were invented for the screen. Were these characters real athletes? Did the coach of the real Jamaican bobsled team have a cheating scandal in his history? Why do they make it seem like running and bobsledding are part of the same olympics? Why is one of the characters named Yul Brynner? Was Jar Jar Binks based on Doug E Doug’s performance in this? Join us as we answer about half of those questions. Oh snap! It’s the Add More Mouse podcast and we’re starting a brand new miniseries! Since the beginning of the Disney company, the storytellers there have often looked to real events and people to base projects on, such as Davey Crocket, any of the 100 sports movies Disney has put out, or all the way back to Walt’s own project True-Life Adventures. But in Hollywood, real events often do not follow a traditional film’s three act structure, so writers and directors change the real stories in order to make them “more cinematic,” often while giving the audience a skewed idea of what really happened. We start our “Fact and Fiction” miniseries with 1995’s Pocahontas, the 33rd Animated Classic released by the studio. Your hosts dig into the burning questions audiences might have after seeing this film: Was Pocahontas real? Was her best friend a hummingbird? Did trees talk to people a few hundred years ago? There are approximately 900 Disney podcasts, so we're happy you found ours somehow! The holidays are almost here and things are wild. To celebrate the end of the year...we...watched Roseanne? I guess we did! What follows is the next installment of our miniseries analyzing all of the various sitcoms that found a way to shoot a few episodes at Disney Parks and hotels in a brazen display of corporate synergy between Disney and their ABC television lineup in the early 90's. We're talking a TWO PARTER in which the Rossanne cast heads to Walt Disney World for some reason I can't be bothered to remember as I type this. Hijinks ensue, but was Roseanne just a platform for elitist viewers to have their stereotypes of midwesterners confirmed? That's a heady question the boys are not equipped to have, but they try valiantly anyway!Along the way the boys try to avoid at all costs talking about present day Roseanne while espousing their eternal love for John Goodman, discuss how horrifying the Roseanne opening credits are, the grossness of 90's "morph" technology, and beg for emails.Follow Add More Mouse on Instagram and Facebook. Yes. Was he super excited to talk about it? Yes! Did he totally forget to mention it? Yep! Dave also lays out a pretty sweet strategy regarding how to manage young children at the theme parks. Hey buddies! Sorry for the extra week between episodes - Dave was on a podcast research trip to Walt Disney World this month, ad the 90 degree heat and humidity basically ensured that he was in bed by 8pm most nights. But we're back baby, and this week we're talking about the time in 1995 when TGIF staple Family Matters took a trip to DisneyWorld to watch Steve Urkel's DNA altering machine compete in a science fair against a fancy microwave! Along the way we'll discuss Urkel's voice, his eventual back pain, the legacy of TGIF, and the overall wonderment that is the Sci-Fi Drive-In Restaurant at Hollywood Studios. Also included: it turns out Mike was actually at DisneyWorld while these episodes were filming, and he has pics to prove it (check our instagram)! Michael reveals that Urkel was a "man of the people" while Laura Winslow was decidedly less so. The boys also discuss what age is inappropriate to learn about the OJ Simpson trial, and Dave pitches an idea for Disney+ that is "one half Family Matters and one half NYPD Blue." The royalty checks ought to roll right in after this one! Thanks for listening! You can find Add More Mouse on Facebook and Instagram. Email the show at addmoremouse@gmail.com

This week, your muscular (yet sensitive) hosts Dave and Mike are wrapping up their impromptu Disney pirates miniseries by taking a look at the 1994 film, Muppet Treasure Island! But if Dave loves the Muppets so much, why does he have such a lukewarm take on this movie? If a movie was made with such obvious care, how can it be so boring?
