We're just a few days away from a new decade! Has the last decade gone as fast for you as it has for us? We thought it was a good time to start our series on social media by reflecting on the evolution of social media since our college days. We look back on the days when the only platform was Facebook and the only people on it were our friends in college. The quality of your photos were irrelevant. What mattered was the memories made and who had the best album caption. We also talk about: -What it was like to be the first generation on social media -How we use social media for personal branding -Why Lindsay despises Facebook -Why perception is everything on social media -How and why social media has shifted from mostly personal memories to mostly vanity/business -How to be proactive about having the presence you want And since it's the holiday season, we close with an important topic: best holiday movies! Did you ever consider becoming a lawyer as a potential career path? For the majority of us, it was one of those flashy careers that we all considered at some point. Maybe inspired by Elle Woods from Legally Blonde circa 2001 or because we were told we'd be good at it due to our debate skills. But very few of us ever actually pursued it - and even fewer were successful enough to make partner in a law firm by their early 30's. This is why we were excited to interview Morgan Nighan! Morgan is partner-elect at her MA-based law firm and we got to walk through the experiences she went through to get to this notable career milestone. We talk about: -Why being a lawyer was always the career choice for Morgan -What it was like juggling school and studying for the LSATs -The hardest part of law school - and what made Morgan feel at home -The interview process to become an associate -What set her apart on the path to partner -How she took advantage of opportunities that others saw as setbacks And so much more! And yes, after completion of this interview, we did watch Legally Blonde!
Prepping for a job interview can be daunting and there are so many variations. Is it an internal interview or a new company? Is it an entry level position or more advanced? Is it early in the process or in the final stages? Is it 1x1 or a panel? In this episode, we talk about how to prepare for these different types of interviews and our experiences (both good and bad!) in the last 10 years of our careers. We wrap up with our LEASET favorite interview questions of all time. Join the convo on Instagram and give us a rating on itunes!
Rachel is in her late 20's and just put her 2-week notice in at work to officially RETIRE. Crazy, right??We're very excited to have Rachel back for another episode! You may remember her from earlier this year when she came on to talk about budgeting, debt reduction, and investing 101. These are all key topics for anyone in the first 10 years of their career as you learn how to manage your money. Once you get the basics down, the next step is to think about how you can start generating passive income. The money you make in your 9-5 is your "active" income because it requires you to physically be there to make money, but there is a significant opportunity for you to start generating passive income as well. Think making money from a blog, course, book, rental properties or investments. Rachel dives into what passive income is, how to start generating it, and how it allowed her to retire before 30. Check it out! Also check out Rachel's previous episodes: Getting your Financial Sh$t Together (Part 1) Getting your Financial Sh$t Together (Part 2)

Do you know what energizes you? Frustrates you? Calms you? Do you think about how your actions impact those around you? Are you someone who instantly reacts to a situation? Understanding your emotions, drivers, needs, and triggers enables you to put your best foot forward as a leader. It also helps you become more empathetic in your relationships as you learn to think outside your own personal situation. On average, Americans age 18 and over spend 37 minutes in food preparation and cleanup each day. That's about 4.5 hours per week. And the average household spends about $550 per month on food. That's a hefty bill and a lot of time spent just on meals. What if it could be cheaper and faster? This is what we talk about on this week's episode with Founder of Workweek Lunch, Talia Koren. Workweek Lunch is a site and meal plan subscription dedicated to helping busy people meal prep to save time and money while eating healthy. Talia lives in Queens, NY where she spends most of her time in a tiny kitchen whipping up big batch meals and sharing tips and tricks with her 250k Instagram followers. Prior to going full-time with Workweek Lunch, Talia dabbled in the entertainment industry, journalism and social media consulting. Talia's mission is to show people how easy it is to prep delicious plant-focused meals on a budget to create more time, money and energy in our lives for the things that matter to us most. We talk with her about what it takes to build a thriving business online, why she chooses not to focus on diets, and why learning how to meal prep is so critical for the busy professional or working parent.
