Our lack of achieving PEACE could also be the anticipation of situations that haven't even manifested. Shunmyo Masuno, Zen Priest and writer of “The Art Of Simple Living” says “Don't be troubled by things that have not yet happened. Anxiety is intangible. Think only about what is happening right now. Almost all anxieties are intangible. They are the invention of your own mind". Song: Wings Of A Dove (M. David Remix)Support: www.PayPal.me/IG2020PodcastSupport the show
We think that we have in someway given an unseen punishment. But in essence we have placed ourselves in a prism of negativity. We may never speak of the issue again; but it has attached an uncomfortable tumor in our spirit. It may take weeks, months or years to make itself known. But it is there, none the less. The only remedy and cure is forgiveness. Forgiveness isn't for your situation or the person and or persons. It's for you. It's a cleansing for you. So, let's start with you…Song: BEAUTIFUL BROKEN (M. David)Music Synosis: Each so called incorrect note represents the flaws within ourselves. They may sound weird and unfamiliar; but yet they blend beautifully throughout the construction of the piece. We are all broken in somebeautiful fashion. Learning how to compose with what we were givenis the true joy of life. Support the show
Inspirational Grooves 20/20 Podcast is where the SOUL'S mind is feed by the hearts desire to beexactly what it was meant to be...It is so easy to see the things that aren't correct in our lives. But we wouldn't recognise negative if we hadn't experienced positive. Taking into an account these balances is a gift within itself. Being thankful for all things is definitely an acquired taste. But it's one that can bring peace and calmness to the very essence of you. GO ON....BREATHE IN.....AND BREATHE OUT!!Support the show (http://PayPal.me/IG2020Podcast)Music: Shel's Sonata No. 1 (M. This week's guest has stories that have stories. She has lived a life that could be lived several times over by various people. She has been richly surrounded with greatness; which enabled her to live in her greatness. She was/is one of the pioneers of “New Wave” (before that was a thing). She's a voice of the 80's yet has become timeless with her music. David Bowie loved her and Luther Vandross adored her. Happy, blissful, overjoyed, doesn't come close to the feeling I experienced as I was conversing with my brother from another other. My friend was the gift that didn't want to stop giving and I was HERE FOR IT! It's the mastery of directorship, MUA, songwriting, singing, producing, playwright for me. It's incredible how one man can embody so many arenas within the entertainment realm. Ooh the duality of it all. Here is the man who drops singles that make you wanna dance until you can't dance no more, Mr. David A. Tobin.Support the show (http://PayPal.me/IG2020Podcast)
This interview was one of the hardest to conduct. It wasn't due to anything absurd on the part of the person being interviewed. It was the subject itself. I have mentioned once or twice that I've become the ambassador for “International Justice Mission”. It's an organisation that orchestrates rescue missions for woman, men, boys and girls succumbed to sexual violence. Those who are exploited or sold into slavery. IJM is the world's largest organisation in the fight against slavery. They know where they are and it's their mission to free them. I can't imagine waking each day knowing that my work is rooted in the pain of others. I have so much admiration and respect for all departments within the International Justice Mission. It was indeed and honour and privilege to talk with the Executive Director of IJM,Caroly Houmes.Support the show
In honour of Marvin Gaye's 50th anniversary of the iconic album "What's Going On",I felt compelled to recap this episode. This episode was recorded last year; five months into the quarantine. I was feeling the need to speak out about my own mental well being, all while observing others. My heart also went out to those who may be victims of unsafe conditions, especially our children. I immediately envisioned the lyrics written throughout this masterpiece.Who really caresWho is willing to tryTo save a wholeThat is destined to dieSave the babiesSave the childrenArtist Music HotSpot: BlackbirdSupport the show (http://PayPal.me/IG2020Podcast)
***This is the final chapter of this Leading Ladies Series*** Kristina Love is beautiful, spiritual, intellectual, talented, creative. She is far more than her degrees and awards. She's a young woman who lives not only for herself but her family, community and God. I couldn't have chosen a better lady to close out this series. She is definitely a queen who wears her crown well.I know beyond a shadow of doubt that this series was a gift from God. I feel so blessed to know so many extraordinary women. Ohhhh and this is only the beginning…I have many more fascinating ladies waiting in the wings. I'm just getting started.Follow Kristina Love on Instagram: @kristinaloveofficialSupport the show (http://PayPal.me/IG2020Podcast)
Not only did she pour out inspiring words but she promoted herself & her brand all while conquering her fears; not one fear but two. All of this in one episode. What a blessing this has been. Sarah Bannier's time is off the charts. This is a woman who can do it all and wishes to do just that. She thrives off of juggling film, tv, theatre, studio work maybe all in the same week. She's gone from supporting roles to headlining. All of this is nicely wrapped in the sweetest, most gentle soul I know. Support the show (http://PayPal.me/IG2020Podcast)
Here in the Nederlands after playing the role of Kim in Ms. Saigon this young lady's name became larger than the frame that housed the name. She embodies joy, elegance and grace. Her voice is one of the purest sounds you could ever treat yourself too. She's refine even when she is playing the most funniest, outrageous, complex character. I've never had the pleasure of calling her colleague in the acting realm. But I have had the honour of calling her a co-partner and an everlasting position of calling her sister/girlfriend. This week's Leading Lady is my friend Ms. Linda Wagenmakers.Support the show (http://PayPal.me/IG2020Podcast)

Now the work begins. Reform, accountability has taken a seat at the table. We can no longer allow these atrocities to reign supreme in our communities. Let us continue to hold the families of the victims in our thoughts and prayers. We know it can not bring back their loved ones, but it can give closure. It can give a peaceful mind knowing that their lives mattered.New episodes will resume next week (May 28); with the continuation of our LEADING LADIES of THE THEATRE series. We are strong as diamonds. Able to hold things together like Epoxy. We are known to shine even brighter than the night star Sirius. All while maintaining our vulnerabilities and wearing them as a badge of honour. My guest for this episode unhesitatingly unfolds her modest beginnings that have lead her straight to her moment in the spotlight. Hearing her story of not always aiming for the number one spot was in itself humbling. If any Leading Lady deserved the chance to rise and shine (and see her name in lights) it is emphatically this week's Leading Lady of The Theatre Aisata Blackman.Support the show (http://PayPal.me/IG2020Podcast)
I could have talked with Carolina all day and well into the night. Our conversation spilled over even after the official recording ceased. I could see that she has found her life's purpose. She knows her self worth and has no problem sharing that intel. There is nothing more exhilarating than seeing another woman living, excelling, speaking, working and thriving in her truth. At this moment and time her spotlight is outshining the very stages she has so graciously walked. **Leading Ladies of The Lion King, Tina 'The Musical', Miss Saigon, The Bodyguard, Sister Act, Aida, Dreamgirls**Support the show (http://PayPal.me/IG2020Podcast)
I love the theatre, it is and was the heart and soul of me for years. I love the smell of excellence and the challenges it brings. I'm super excited for the next few weeks and the next series. I want to give honour where it is due. I want to acknowledge grandness. I want to fill your ear with the stories from “Leading Ladies of the Theatre”.“This journey wasn't solely for me” I believed that it was a path that was being used for the sake of my children. I still hold this to be evident.Nothing rings more true than the sight and sounds of my daughter. The quote “Born for This” is an understatement. She designed her own course even as she was hidden from the world. Music and Art are the components of her DNA. She breathes rhymes and rhymes, she is an expression of Love. A spirit of peace that embraces any and all surroundings she occupies. Her dedication and work ethics are unmatched by most. I could not be more proud to open the “Leading Ladies Of The Theatre” with my daughter, my heart Donielle David.**Leading Ladies of The Lion King, Tina 'The Musical', Miss Saigon, The Bodyguard, Sister Act, Aida, Dreamgirls**Support the show (http://PayPal.me/IG2020Podcast)
Maya Angelou “A woman in harmony with her spirit is like a river flowing. She goes where she will without pretence and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself and only herself”.“Decomposing Beauty” Part 2 with Aiysha Malik, Rebecca Knol and my daughter Arielle David was just as eye opening as part one. Their discoveries left no stone unturned. Definitely a topic for not only young woman but woman of all ages.Support the show (http://PayPal.me/IG2020Podcast)
As things change, some things stay the same. However, they have been magnified because of our increasing abilities to connect through varies mediums. We along with our children are bombarded with images that often disturbs our adult minds. Now imagine what they are doing to our most fragile, our teens. This week my youngest daughter Arielle completed an assignment that after reading the 43 paged document, I felt compelled to share. It's a project that shouldn't only be shared with her school but outside the walls of that institution.ARIELLE alone with her classmates AIYSHA & REBECCA embarked on a journey that forced them to collectively address an issue that most tackle on an individual basis. For the past few weeks I have been airing my series called Young, Gifted & Black. It has been an experience that I definitely believe was divinely given. The guest that will conclude this portion of the series is Shelton Telesford. He is a young man that has stepped up to the plate or I should say pulpit and let his voice be used to heal the hearts of may and comfort their souls with the word.Support the show (http://PayPal.me/IG2020Podcast)
Young Gifted & Black continues with the heart felt sentiments of a young man coming into his own. Wanting to not only heal and strengthen bodies, but elevate the consciousness of the his generation. In Honour of "Black History Month" I give you a young woman who is unapologetically herself. This week's feature is a lover of words. As an adult we have the capabilities to make our dreams viable. I'm sure there are those who think their dreams are too large to achieve. But, they can be as close to you as your thoughts. Welcome back to part 2 of my gabfest with Ivan Peroti. Music exudes from every pore of his being. I appreciated his straightforwardness and his absence of reserve.
