A year end mark brings change. Change is what life is all about. Tune in to hear how change is affecting our podcast. Notes For a year now, we've shared our organic conversations on our podcast. It’s been an amazing ride for both of us. We thank you for sharing this journey with us. Phoebe is transforming the podcast to include organic conversation with others, some strangers, some not. It’s a way to broaden community and to discover more about the very fabric of life that holds us all together. There’s a learning curve to make this happen, expect a bit of a lapse in April podcasts. The new podcast looks at the only constant, change, and how it affects us--in general and in our personal and spiritual development. Everything is opening up to us in new ways. Phoebe sees herself as a catalyst to help with the ease of transformation. Together, we’ll remember who we are and celebrate going “deep” in a playful way. Does saying ‘yes, and’ add value to our daily life? Eleni and Phoebe look at how we can say more of ‘yes, and,’ plus how to figure out how we can best answer a yes or no question. Notes Saying ‘yes, and’ rather than either/or allows us to be more collaborative, listen better, and widens our life view and experiences. In dowsing, if we ask to what degree is a yes or no question beneficial, we can then work with the nuances of the question. Nuances can give us information and a bigger picture of a situation or experience. Coming back to a neutral position is always key in either/or situations, as well as, in yes or no questions. If we’re in the present moment, we can ask if something energizes or deflates us. If we miss a ‘yes, and’ opportunity, we’re most likely trapped in our mind and its stories. The moment we recognize that we're choosing ‘yes, and' or either/or speaks volumes about how we're showing up with others. What is a muse? Are muses doling out inspiration and creativity to all of us? Notes Phoebe received the inspired idea of creating her Plantspeak Oracle cards through claircognizance in the woods. The spirit of place can be a muse. Can more than one person receive the same inspiration? An inspiration birthed is more important than who birthed it. Do we have conversations or dialogues with our muses? What is our internal process when we receive an inspired idea? Has how we have defined what a muse is changed much over the years? Can we view the Greek muses of classical mythology as a collective? Are our spirit guides and the Spirit Doctor Team muses and/or collaborators and supporters? Eleni and Phoebe talk about how Tarot and Oracle cards differ from each other. What do these cards offer and teach us? Notes Tarot cards offer ancient information and knowledge that has been passed down to the public throughout the ages. In general, readings with Tarot cards give us more specific and detailed information, while Oracle cards show us a bigger picture. Why not play with combining both Tarot and Oracle cards in a reading? Using cards encourages us to learn about our own intuition and sacred information. Each reading can easily change or shift, depending upon free will, action, events and synchronicities. Perhaps some of the currently produced Tarot and Oracle decks contain new or repurposed information, that we’re ready to now receive and work with. When we read cards a balance between our own intuition and the cards must exist, otherwise the card readings become formulaic. When we use Tarot or Oracle cards, we can learn and evolve with playfulness and depth. From a Korean folk tale to Fred Rogers, Eleni and Phoebe examine ways on how to make everyday sacred. Notes Everyday sacred is practicing being present with intention, pausing and breathing. A Korean Folk Tale astounds readers in its profound simplicity of making all things sacred, including maggots. Everything has inherent value. Fred Rogers practiced making everyday sacred in his life. He shared his authentic practice in his T.V. show. Tips are included for making everyday sacred, including gratitude etc. Links A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019) - IMDb Subscribe to invite our conversation into your life every Wednesday.
Trees are the earth’s giants in size and in heart. We connect with trees all the time, out of our window or perhaps on our way home. If we recognize and nurture a relationship with a tree, we understand how to become more balanced and loving in ourselves and other relationships. Notes A shamanic journey can serve as an initiation for creating deeper relationships with trees. Trees can provide stability, structure and solace for children. Trees create community. They communicate with each other through mycorrhizae (fungal networks). They know when you’re near and they know if a disease is spreading. They take care of each other, and sometimes they take care of you. Plantspeak Oracle cards act as portals to nature. Each tree face captures the essence of the tree’s offering and its spirit of place. Shamanic journeying connects us with trees. The roots ground us, where the trunk meets the earth is the heart, and the branches connect us to the heavens, the cosmos. Trees are balanced. Do trees have telepathy with us? Does one grove of olive trees in Spain recognize that we may have connected or journeyed with another olive grove in Italy? Do they “sniff “us like cats do to our luggage when we come back from a trip? Trees teach us that we’re beautiful no matter how misshapen we may feel. In a feel-good convo, Eleni and Phoebe give simplicity a make-over for this new decade. Notes We’re reframing the mantra “work harder, do more” to “pause more, find simplicity.” Our mind is a tool and doesn’t have the capacity to define who we are. Break up joyless thoughts through physical movement or a fun activity to bring more simplicity and pleasure into your day. Simplicity is letting go of trying and stepping into a flow. If we connect into the in between spaces (negative space) of life, we can work with clearing out some of our physical, mental and emotional debris. Listen to what is not being said. Therein lies the essence, which represents the void, from which everything is birthed (starts). Links Voluntary Simplicity Movement Subscribe to invite our conversation into your life every Wednesday.
If you want to change how you perceive yourself and the world, must you unlearn everything you were taught? If so, how can you start this process of becoming more you? Notes The tenets of unlearning stuff that we are taught are: being curious, playing without judgement, and having a beginner’s mind. When we experience “not knowing” it expands and changes our world. Many educational or other institutions and groups stuff us full of rules, facts and values, expecting us to “regurgitate” it without any exploring or questioning. Self-referencing allows us to sift through available wisdom and research that may ultimately help us. Having a community and/or some spiritual practices in place helps us if we experience a dark night of the soul or just plain doubt about our perceived reality of the world and who we are. Eleni and Phoebe explore how to craft a question that has the potential to change your life. Notes One simple, direct and open ended question gives us one clear answer. Who, what and how questions tend to be more effective than asking why. Instead of asking a time driven question, ask for possible next steps or most effective move. If you have choices, ask a question to reflect the possible learning/challenges of each choice. The state of our mind and emotions can affect the quality of a question. Curiosity brings clarity. Author Mary Greer has a wonderful exercise that allows clarity to emerge from the subconscious mind through describing what you see on a tarot or oracle card. Asking questions anticipates receiving answers. How can we consciously work on our “receivability”? Links https://marykgreer.com/ Subscribe to invite our conversation into your life every Wednesday.
A dialogue that embraces unfiltered reflections of how exactly we can experience heart-mind synchronization. Notes Explore what heart-mind synchronization looks, sounds and feels like (e.g. the strings on a double bass making harmonic music or a fiber optic chord or a golden thread linking the heart and mind) The heart is about universal love. Once you’ve experienced the power of the heart, you realize that separation is a function of the mind. The mind works well when we understand how it functions best. The heart-mind connection may feel like the electricity of our body, calm and quiet, contained and expansive at the same time. Some ways we can invite the experience of a heart-mind connection include being in nature, expressing creativity, and some energetic exercises. Beginning to cultivate heart-mind synchronicity is like creating a new habit or muscle memory. When we cultivate self-trust and love, we’ll start to feel safe enough to tear up everything we’ve been taught--all of those spiritual rules. Only then, through personal experience can we start playing with our own heart-mind connection. Subscribe to invite our conversation into your life every Wednesday.
We are a conglomeration of our life choices. Eleni and Phoebe demystify how to make choices that inspire our hearts to sing. We’re taking the sting out of making choices! Notes When we focus on the decision point of a choice, we forget to ask the simple question, “what do I want to experience?” Sometimes it’s hard to recognize when other people’s opinions and energy are influencing our choices. We know we’re on the right track when our choices make our hearts sing and fill us up with levity and humor. When we synchronize our heart and mind, we can receive with greater ease. Otherwise, our inner conflict can prevent us from receiving the potential of what a choice/experience may bring. If we look at quantum theory, everything--our thoughts, words etc.--becomes something. In our mind’s eye, if we reflect upon what each choice looks, feels or sounds like, it helps a choice become more concrete and less mind-driven. A theme, word or intention can serve as a North star in our daily lives. If a choice is in alignment with the chosen theme, we’ll automatically feel joy and not focus on the decision point. Sometimes fear, and most fear is only in our minds, prevents us from making a choice that may be life-affirming. Muscle testing can a great way to access your own information. It’s a sign to shift your perspective if you think you don’t have any choices. Links Muscle Testing Subscribe to invite our conversation into your life every Wednesday.
We’re starting off 2020 looking at what this momentous year may bring us. Joy is spotlighted as a key that frees us. After all, Joy is an act of rebellion in our current structure! Notes Highlights from a reading for 2020 with Plantspeak Nature Oracle Cards We’ve not only prepped for 2020 both consciously and unconsciously, but we’ve planted seeds (Gestation # 31) for new growth. Our individual and collective challenge is (self) Trust #28, but unexpected help is Joy #20. If we take a deeper look at our physical, mental, emotional or spiritual addictions (Deception #50), we can figure out through Polarities #41, that which we don’t want and/or want to cultivate in 2020. Light #5 invites us to create with greater ease the experiences that will shape us in 2020. Highlights from Eleni connecting in with the energies of 2020 2019 gave us contractions that sent us down the birthing canal. In 2020, we’re being launched out of our norm into the unknown. It may feel overwhelming as we embrace the change that is helping us to create the form, shape and depth of our new reality in 2020. In our first episode of 2020, we explore visions and ideas of how we feel called to evolve the podcast. It’s going to be an amazing year for all of us. Happy New Year! Notes Recording on Zoom means we (but you don’t) see our expressions and body language. A couple of times a year, we’d like to share with you a few YouTube videos. We’re going to play with creating more of a “container” for future episodes. Stay tuned to see how this will unfold. We’ll also share our work more, for example, Phoebe will "pull" some of her oracle cards and/or do a reading for an episode. We feel that the world and our communities benefit greatly when we all show up with our gifts. We’d like to be a support for each other and others as we collectively share our gifts and strengths during a time when they are all so needed. We’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas about what you’d like us to share with you on future episodes. In this brief, final episode of 2019, we reflect with much love about our journey so far in the podcast world. We’re so happy that we’re collectively creating synergy together! Notes We’re thrilled that we (and you) persevered through our “creating a podcast” learning curve and various tech challenges. We also learned how to trust ourselves to speak without a script and to embrace impromptu speaking. We find that our podcast creates a space of healing and personal/spiritual development for us, and you, listeners. When we talk about our internal processes publicly, we feel that it normalizes the process of internal growth. Together, we create a broader path for us to walk, with ease, in 2020. During the holiday season, we may celebrate with ubiquitous and/or unique activities and traditions, some of which may be new, handed down or borrowed. Eleni and Phoebe reflect on how to keep the light and magic in our lives during this season. Notes Intentional gift making and giving can create a deep sense of gratitude and awe for each other and the season. We love to create space for what we see as the innate peace and joy of the holidays. Such a time encourages bonding with each other. Experiential learning offers us a self-referencing approach to learn about how we tick inside. It allows us to eliminate the noise around us and to focus on awakening and listening to our whole self. Notes When we find ourselves regurgitating back what we learn, it has no relevance to how we experience information from or through our own truth, our body-based awareness. Experiential learning builds self-trust and helps us to see through the erudite machinations of the mind. Then, we can create greater intimacy with self, others, nature and more. Self-acceptance allows us to step away from living outside of our truth. If we don’t recognize the mental games that we play, we can become stuck in a reality that we don’t like or really believe in. Shamanic work is self-referencing, while in collaboration with nature or allies. Helping people to shift perspectives is a cornerstone of intuitive readings. Being curious invites us to see things differently and to embrace change. Experiential learning helps us to awaken and integrate more fully who we are in this world. Struggling sometimes appears more like a way of life now-a-days. Eleni and Phoebe talk about what struggling means and how to shift out of it into the land of snuggle. Notes We’ve been feeling that “struggle” is wide-spread and amplified lately. One way to step out-of-struggle is to practice becoming more neutral. Holding false stories around neutrality may conjure up feelings of guilt, such as, that we’re not being kind or that we’re letting someone down. Self-love and love allows all of us to learn in our highest good. There’s suffering from lack of physical amenities and human rights. There are struggles that are more emotionally or mentally based. Sometimes struggles may have originated through the physical, but become emotional or mental struggles, particularly if we’re no longer in a survival situation, but we continue to carry that story. When we become conscious of struggle(s) and take some sort of action, we can let go of the struggle. The Universe is always sending us information to help us evolve through our struggles. Our personal work informs the collective. Eleni and Phoebe banter about a tee-shirt with the idiom “The Snuggle Is Real.” We love how it turns the “struggle is real” upside down. We can choose to learn through contrasts, but we can also choose to learn through love. Love is real! Subscribe to invite our conversation into your life every Wednesday.

How exactly does having clarity help us? How can we get it? Join Eleni and Phoebe as we investigate finding clarity. Notes Clarity is when we have a sense of knowing about ourselves right now in this moment. How can we work with resistance that may come up with newfound clarity? If what we notice becomes our reality, then how does something that’s clear or murky begin to look or feel like (materialize) to you? When we name and connect into our clarity, it’s liberating, releasing us from victimhood. Action, especially multiple actions, is one way to find out if what we’re focusing on is clear and how we’d like to proceed. Not taking action is still taking action. Activities and classes can help us shift out of our default comfort zone, joyfully surprising us with new perspectives of who we are. Notes Phoebe reflects on what she’s learning about herself through Improv classes. How we respond to anything and everything is information about who we are. It’s through our observation of these responses that we can make changes. Improv classes can help us cultivate deep listening and presence through willingness to play with others. It’s an opportunity to let go of our pre-programmed ways of showing up. So much of improv is about relating to others. How we respond to a person or situation can reveal our insecurities or default settings. In improv classes, we learn about our pre-programming through non confrontational and objective feedback. When we uplevel, we’ve made a quantum leap in how we show up to ourselves and others. Eleni and Phoebe talk about how to maintain, nurture and integrate a shift in awareness. Notes When we make a leap in consciousness, our dense bodies can lollygag behind, causing some resistance to becoming fully aligned. Maintaining that upleveled vision in our energy field helps us to access the alpha state and to integrate our new awareness. Doing heart-centered work (not busy work) requires us to show up in alignment with our vision. A tool to keep our vision alive and present is to create a physical piece, such as a collage, picture or something written, that symbolizes our vision. It may be a physical creation, but it’s representing (translating) our inner knowingness. Once we’ve integrated our upleveling physically, emotionally, mentally and spirituality, no we longer need that physical reminder. Celebrating ourselves helps us to stay upleveled, and to cultivate more self-forgiveness and self-love, essential ingredients for any upleveling. Let’s all congratulate ourselves on the work we’re doing! Subscribe to invite our conversation into your life every Wednesday.
The possibility of turbo change in these wobbly times encourages us to focus on the only thing that truly radiates (defines) who we are: our inner reality. Notes When you knowingly cultivate your inner world, synchronicities appear almost as a way to high-five you. Observing the repetitive tapes in our heads, allows us to stop the moment by moment playback of the past, so that we can be in the present moment. Our mind is not our knowingness; it’s a servant, not an inner authority. We no longer have to emulate the masculine and be at war with ourselves. When we embrace the feminine, we learn how to receive and how to become comfortable in the dark and the unknown. There’s an ebb and flow of our awareness as we evolve. Even if we feel that it’s a quiet time for us, there’s a lot happening on an energetic level. Think compost pile. Self-forgiveness and self-trust are vital practices as we re-member and nurture our inner selves. Subscribe to invite our conversation into your life every Wednesday.
Making choices seems to be one of our most difficult tasks in life. Eleni and Phoebe look at the nitty gritty of how to make a big yes or a big no choice. Notes Phoebe recounts how she courageously said no to a bully of a boss. Eleni shares a practice of finding our big Yes. Saying cancel cancel to a repetitive negative thought invites in an alternate thought that’s more in alignment with the present moment. Understanding that a decision or choice is not permanent helps to bring in some space and levity to then make a choice that’s in alignment with who we are. Being in your 20s exploring and yet feeling other’s expectations can obscure just how much impact we have on each other. Learning how to sit in our heart-space with self-love and compassion allows us to practice just that with others. Subscribe to invite our conversation into your life every Wednesday.
What if imagination was the panacea to much of the stress, negativity and programming we may be experiencing in the world? What if we looked inside of our own treasure chests for a tool to rediscover our lost imagination? Notes: At what point does being “correct” become more important over being imaginative? Everything is energy. Imaginative thoughts and emotions create as do our programmed thoughts and emotions. However, imagination can free us from our negative and repetitive thoughts and emotions (stories). Curiosity and wonderment help us to take a pause, allowing space for something new to come in. Imagine how a beautiful sunset easily opens us up. A gratitude practice shifts our energy and allows us to be in awe of everything we’re experiencing in the present moment. Ever walk into a room only to feel deflated? Tools, such as “filling” yourself up with a fun or sparkly color, can instantaneously bring you back into joy and out of a shared fear-based experience. Everything we do individually affects the collective. Subscribe to invite our conversation into your life every Wednesday.
How do we know when we’re in shadow territory? And once we know, how do we work with it without losing ourselves? Phoebe and Eleni explore staying anchored to self while dancing with the shadow. Notes Our shadow can be so hidden, that we don’t know what it is. A red flag that we may be in shadow territory is when we’re in reaction to someone or something. Some parts of the shadow side may be obvious and ‘lighter’ (habits that we know are not in alignment with what we actually need), while other parts are harder to detect. When our shadow side comes out, how do we work with the shadow without going down the rabbit hole and losing ourselves to it? Eleni shares a recent experience around shame, what came up and how she worked with it Shame can be part of our shadow; anything that stems from someone else’s agenda or takes away our sense of self can be an indicator that the shadow side is peeking through Intuition is another place where there can be shame intertwined. Anything that is outside of the cultural norm can have shame wrapped around it. The shadow side never goes away; we either look at it or it will get bigger and bigger until we have no choice but to address it. Self care and surrounding ourselves with people we love and trust can be a great resource for when we’re in shadow side territory. Phoebe shares a practice for gauging how far in the shadow side she is as a way of preventing herself from getting pulled into it fully. What are parallel lives and how do they show up in this reality? What is the connection between parallel lives and timelines? Phoebe and Eleni share recent experiences that inspire explorations into parallel lives. Notes: Eleni shares a dream that inspires explorations of parallel lives. What are parallel lives? We don’t know, but we can conjecture based on our experiences as we tap into them in different ways (e.g. through dreams, unexpected intense emotions that come out of nowhere, etc). Parallel lives are explored in the movie Sliding Doors and book The Oversoul Seven by Jane Roberts. We can learn to work parallel lives when they show up by releasing energy that is not from this time in this life and calling back energy of ours that may be scattered in other places/timelines. Phoebe shares a knowing of Nelson Mandela’s death on a different timeline (while he was still in prison) rather than the widely accepted time of his death (in 2013). What is the connection between timelines and parallel lives? Time and space are nonlinear. Dreams can give us information to help us see what’s possible. Dreams can keep us tethered, grounded and aligned. Ultimately, there’s so much we don’t know. Notes How many of us experience creative grief? How can we step out of our pained and distorted mind view of creativity and start to joyfully express our essence through creativity? Creative grief seems ubiquitous. We are born creators, which is why we may feel creative grief and sadness when we resist or limit the joy of being creative. This grief seems to play out not only individually, but also in group and family roles and dynamics. Our stories and mindthink can block and tarnish our creativity, diminishing our life force and possibly making us ill. We have the freedom of choice to be creative. A distorted or inhibited creative flow has a lower vibration, sometimes bringing out competitiveness or shrinking. Creating a collage from magazines is an easy way to not only be creative but also to bring lightness and some clarity into sadness, anger or grief. We can use creativity to move pain out of our body to then reconnect to our essence. Imagine drawing an exit point for pain on paper! Creativity is also a safe way to process what we’re feeling because we’re observing ourselves through a different medium and perspective. We can be creative in countless ways, such as how we dress, talk, our expressions, activities and much more. Links Rooting Down Expanding Out Online Course with Phoebe. Learn more here. Notes What is fear? How can this emotion that’s usually a figment of our own or society’s imagination create such havoc in our lives? Why are we driven by fear to do or not to do something? Eleni recounts how a harrowing airplane flight motivated her to change her life path. Is it fear that drives us to treat symptoms without looking at the cause of a pain? Have you noticed how your brain wants to quickly make up a story around fear, but we have the power to move and shift that energy? If someone suggests that we ought to be experiencing or feeling something because of their belief system or mass consciousness, our energy can lower if we identify with or react to the suggestion. Here’s where we practice self-observation, curiosity and neutrality. When we’re experiencing joy, fear cannot exist. Fear is so prevalent in our society that we sometimes can’t discern that what we’re feeling is fear. Sometimes fear is used intentionally to manipulate society-at-large, such as the antics of the company Cambridge Analytica. Notes If we live in a world of crumbling structures, whether financial, political, or personal, what’s taking their places? We talk about how we can observe and creatively manifest new and emerging structures. External and internal structures that have defined our world as we see it appear to be shifting and changing. Our personal responses have been to stop powering through the old structures and to stop being a part of others’ games and contracts. An example of a more limited way (perspective) of life and its manifestations was evident a few years’ ago when society embraced the faddish “The Secret.” Once we accept that we’re born creators, we begin to see the new structures manifesting and emerging in a more receptive way, with dialogue as the birthing force. Dialogue mimics the force of creativity. We designed the template of our upcoming online class exploring creativity, especially through the use of infinitely old and ageless symbols. Phoebe talks about a painting experience a friend hosts, using the technique of Stuart Cubley, to help her explore on paper, without judgement, what an emerging structure looks like in her mind’s eye. In our upcoming class, we’ll focus on letting go of limits and false ceilings as we explore individual and collective conscious creation. Here’s an exercise: Set an intention to have a new structure made visible to you. Close your physical eyes and take a peek into your mind’s eye. Does anything show up? Perhaps you see squiggles, triangles, rectangles, string, dots, colors or just blackness? Ask yourself how are you connected to what’s showing up? Notes On September 28th, our collaborative journey through the online course Rooting Down, Expanding Out begins with the element, Fire. We’ll burn away the old to create space for the new through deep work and play. The element Fire burns to clear out the old to create compassionate space to welcome in new ideas, thoughts, beliefs, stories, and behavior etc. Fire is as powerful as it is mesmerizing as it is playful. Here’s a metaphor for our journey: Fire helps our ecosystem, burning away the weeds and non natives, exposing new ground for the other elements to wake up dormant seeds to germinate and grow. Fire gives us courage and brings us into the present, the now. Fire helps us to focus so that we can grow and change, especially with the support of our circle. Notes Eleni and Phoebe look at the many faces of secrecy. We also reflect on how it affects us and our society and what we can do about it. During Phoebe’s family reunion, relatives concurred that they didn’t understand how or why some events took place, such as switching out one religion for another. The book and Netflix documentary, The Family, brought up questions about secrecy within a larger organization v. the smaller family unit. Eleni and Phoebe share their experience of secrecy within their own families and family lines, how it impacted them and the questions it brought up. The silver lining from growing up with secrecy is learning how to cultivate intuition since we can sense that there may be a greater unspoken story. Phoebe found that when she shared some of her own life experiences with her kids, it brought her kids a greater understanding of themselves, and seemingly random habits or feelings. Self awareness and using our inner compass helps us navigate the pervasive secrecy in our families and society. The Family and other organizations can twist the simplicity and beauty of life for their personal use and power. Doing our personal work helps us to be curious and not in reaction as we observe and poke into our families and society’s secrecy. Notes Phoebe and Eleni talk about how to identify and clear stagnant energy that lingers in living spaces. They share concrete tips on how to clear your home and personal spaces. We may not be able to see the energetic grime that coats our walls but we can usually feel the difference before and after we clear it. A deep clearing of a newly inhabited space helps clear out the previous occupants’ energy. To maintain an energetically clear home, we give tips from clapping to music to prayer to more. Remembering to clear our own energetic fields is equally important, especially in tandem with clearing our living spaces. Transition spaces, like walkways leading to the home’s front door, or a front yard, can be opportunities to release unwanted energy accumulated during the day before entering your home. Phoebe compares the journey of the path to entering the front door to being in a cleansing car wash. Feeling if something is off around you is the first step to finding some preferred ways of clearing your home and self. Subscribe to invite our conversation into your life every Wednesday.
Notes We share the heart and soul of our collaborative online course starting on September 28th, 2019. This fun and deeply transformative course (container) is expanding to welcome our individual and collective work. We’re building the collective container for our course, and it already houses some big energy. There are 4 parts to the course: 1) Exploring what’s no longer in alignment for us and releasing it; 2) Identifying our purpose and gifts for the right here, right now, to help us to step into our new; 3) Supporting each other, plus learning how to identify our own spirit and physical teams; 4) Integrating, embodying and bringing our purpose into physical form. We’ll learn how to sit with ourselves as we observe what’s coming up for us in our bodies, environment, the unseen world, and we’ll bring it into the physical world. We’ll learn how to work with our soul’s signature and our own and collective symbolism that we’ll download from our higher selves and the cosmos. 2020 is an energetically big year. We feel it’s perfect timing for our class. We invite you to enter the class’ portal, without expectations or a self imposed ceiling, to play with us and each other as we do fun and deep transformative work together. Send us a note or ask us any questions here. We’re excited to welcome you. Notes We learn fast and furiously about ourselves through our friendships. Here’s an honest exploration how evolving or dissolving friendships have helped us experience who we are more authentically. Eleni reflects about how friendships shifted when she showed up differently, during a difficult time in her life. Phoebe relates how she avoided doing her own personal work when she became the caretaker of some friends. When she began to show up more authentically, some friendships that were mucky or one-sided ended. If we entertain the thought that we’re here to experience personal growth through our relationships, then it’s plausible that we’ve “previously” arranged to have some trying experiences with certain people. It’s as if we’ve signed contracts before we’re in body, to then act out those experiences, to learn and evolve. Why do we feel bad sometimes when we begin to show up differently in our friendships? It’s like we’re breaking a contract with them. We’ve changed the rules without consulting them. How can we practice self-love during this time of friendship turmoil? Is a friendship honest? A solution to this question is to ask yourself the simple question, “Do I feel energized or depleted after I interact with this particular friend or group? Why are some friendships perennially solid? If we see ourselves as a whole person, our friend as a whole person, and our relationship as a third entity that’s equally whole, we‘re well on our way to a remarkable friendship. When a friend speaks their feelings from the heart, they appear so at ease in their body. Subscribe to invite our conversation into your life every Wednesday.
Notes Phoebe and Eleni examine their attitudes about the food they eat. More of a garden salad kind of conversation, freshly picked and surprisingly nourishing. After a week cleanse, Phoebe feels more spacious in her body, which helps her to reevaluate her relationship with food. Eleni loves watching her toddler’s growing relationship with vegetables picked straight from the garden because it deepens her understanding of where food comes from. Food passed down through old or new family traditions creates a sense of celebration. These meals seem to evoke our hunter and gather inclinations and memories. Everything is made out of energy, including what we eat. One vegetable holds a different vibration than another vegetable. Food offers us the opportunity to tune into and listen to our body. How, where and what we eat determines how nourished and balanced we feel. If we eat something less nourishing with an attitude of gratitude and celebration, without guilt and shame, our digestion is better. How we experience food matters! Notes Phoebe and Eleni share stories about exploring and healing family patterns as well as celebrating family, past and present. Both are key to creating balance in life. This episode includes concrete examples and ideas of how to work positively with family. Eleni shares a clear example of how a family pattern has played out in her grandmother’s, mother’s, and her life. A must listen! Phoebe, an only child, talks about how releasing expectations that her relatives would want to explore family patterns allowed her to recognize the importance of celebrating family, past and present. Phoebe and her cousins are headed to a special family reunion honoring their grandfather and fathers, at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Phoebe is creating space for her family gathering by energetically sending little hello roses to her cousins, with the intention of celebrating their forefathers and each other. When we work energetically in a simple and joyful way, we easily create intention and a “container” from which to work or celebrate in. Eleni and Phoebe explore ways they currently connect with ancestors and how they can help their children understand the significance of this work. Subscribe to invite our conversation into your life every Wednesday.
Notes Phoebe and Eleni talk transparently about their experience with collaboration. They reimagine what collaboration is outside of the confines of traditional thought. Phoebe and Eleni share how they collaborate to create this podcast and an upcoming class, while honoring their own processes, their collective energy, and the collective. True collaboration allows self-observation and deep listening to keep interactions clear as they welcome in the new. Creating true collaboration falls outside of the traditional hierarchical structures, which can be unsettling, expansive and liberating, as a different way of being in community is created. If we’re energetically clear we’ll manifest equally clear work. If we’re not clear, we may manifest something we don’t resonate with at a soul level. Much of what’s being birthed in this new way is sprouting from the fertile ground of the Divine Feminine. Consciously choosing to participate in creating feels different from participating out of fear or in reaction to. We’re here to create heart-based change. We can watch how something negative and untrue can become a reality through the sheer force of mass consciousness belief. Eleni’s inspired by Caroline Casey’s reflection of asking yourself if your thoughts/actions/beliefs are liberating or binding (yourself or others). A powerful and informational discussion about synchronizing the heart and mind as we strive to become more visible, whole and healthy. Notes: Eleni and Phoebe discuss their experiences around visibility. A lot of ground is covered, including what is inspiring them to be visible, the challenges that have come up, and the ways they’re working with these challenges. When Phoebe first joined Toastmasters some helpful feedback was that she appeared angry giving a speech. She realized that it was displaced anger to keep people at bay since she felt vulnerable public speaking. Noticing how we’re reacting to others’ body language and tone of voice may help us get more comfortable becoming visible. If we show up as our whole self we’ll be in right relationship. How do we step out of the mind and into the heart when we’re in front of an audience? Better yet, how do we synchronize the mind with the heart? Phoebe shares her take on how being heart centered isn’t the same as feeling emotional. For example, when she’s feeling defensive, she knows she’s in her emotions and not her heart. There can appear to be a fine line between genius and mental health issues. When we diagnose or label too quickly we miss that people may be tuning into a higher dimension. Through self awareness and integration of our worldly and other worldly experiences we’ll begin to experience ourselves as whole. Phoebe and Eleni explore the power of dreams and how they work with them. Our dreamworld affects us in our daily lives and beyond. Notes: Eleni shares themes from recent dreams, fears that arose from them, and how she worked with energetically clearing them. Phoebe shares recent dreams and the multi layers that exist within them. The dream world is another non-ordinary reality place to travel to. The dream world can bring a fuller experience of being alive. Dreams help us understand who we are. Dream groups can be supportive, can create shared dreams, can be intimate experiences, and can provide different perspectives on our dreams. Dreams can inform our work, our life, bringing a fresh and new perspective. Phoebe talks about her dream journaling practice and how it enhances her dream life. What does it mean when we aren't having dreams? Dreaming as a practice. References and Links: Robert Moss - Way of the Dreamer: https://mossdreams.com/ Rooting Down, Expanding Out online course. Notes Phoebe and Eleni focus on the word and its powerful effect on us when we work or play. We create ourselves and the world we live in through the language we choose to use. Phoebe talks about a class assignment in which she had to eavesdrop on conversations to get a better understanding of how natural dialogue flows. To her surprise, the dialogue she overheard wasn’t accessible to her because of unfamiliar dialect and slang. Eleni shares a story about how a religious, elder friend taught her that with some adaptation of the shamanic language, a world of overlap could be discovered in seemingly disparate spiritual beliefs and practices. In poetry the essence of “life” can be distilled into a few select powerful words. Listening to a foreign language on the radio, one can feel the rhythm, nuance and texture of it, without the pressure of understanding the meaning of the words. To Phoebe, academic writing feels left brained and poetry feels more right brained, but a made up language (gibberish) for unexplained reasons feels like she’s balancing both hemispheres of the brain. The more we work in our fields, the less we seem to rely on the predefined vocabulary associated with our healing work, as both the work and vocabulary is ever evolving. Images, symbols have language that’s multi-dimensional and alive. Links Toastmasters International Rooting Down, Expanding Out 12-week online course starting 9/19 details. Phoebe and Eleni step into the new. They examine how to anchor a new way of being into day to day life through manifestation, somatic exploration, intentionality and self-observation. Our internal shifts may be noticed by others as changes in our physical appearance. Eleni offers insight from her somatic background. When we work gently with the body to change our external structure, a new perspective can open up to us. Phoebe more easily integrates “the new” with self-observation, otherwise she can fall back into behavior or old stories that no longer define who she is. We’re natural manifestors even when we’re unaware of what we’re manifesting. How we experience our manifestations show us if we manifested them with our ego-mind or our universal heart. We accelerate change when we observe and let go of our old, worn out stories while also noticing the emerging new life-affirming way of being. During our class, we’ll work individually and collectively with creative power and intentionality to see what new is showing up. Truth changes. This idea helps us to be curious, to experiment, to let go of fear and welcome change. A metaphor for understanding what it looks like to create change is how it feels when the fog lifts and the sun comes out. The colors are brighter and the air is clear. Phoebe and Eleni examine their childhood relationship with intuition and how it has evolved. They look at the bigger picture of the role intuition plays in our society. Easy tips to cultivate intuition included. Notes Eleni and Phoebe share how they experienced intuition (gut feelings/inner knowing) when they were young. Intuition can be invalidated, especially when we’re young, which can create feelings of self doubt, guilt or being ‘crazy’. Family or society’s values and beliefs can inhibit our intuition. Being a responsible intuitive is both to do our deep personal work as well as develop our intuitive skills. Learning how to get comfortable being fully in the body helps with intuitive skills, including how to turn on and off intuition. Everything is energy. Intuition is just reading energy on a different level. Tuning into or even intentionally asking for signs and synchronicities in our day-to-day lives helps cultivate our intuition. Part of cultivating our intuition is to notice thoughts, images and feelings that may seem to come out of nowhere. Phoebe shares an example of a psychic who worked with the police as a way to highlight the importance of doing our personal work in order to stay neutral no matter who we’re working with. If fear arises when working with intuition, get into your body and observe the fear without falling into it. Notice what happens to the fear. Tune in every Wednesday to catch another episode. Phoebe and Eleni explore what it means to follow your intuition, and all that it can bring up, by sharing personal stories about following a gut feeling. Intuition never tells tall tales. Show Notes: How do we work with a gut feeling or an intuitive hit? Phoebe shares a story about when intuition saved her life. She describes her feelings of powerlessness, of being “tested” by someone, of being clear on what she needed to do. Eleni shares a story of following her gut with more subtle intuitive hits, and the various questions that it brought up for her. What’s the difference between an obvious, in your face, intuitive experience and more subtle intuitive hits? The bottom line is the same: to create safety for ourselves and our loved ones even if it feels odd or out-of-sync with others. As children, we often experience a lack of validation of our childhood truths or intuitive hits, resulting in second guessing or ignoring our intuition as adults. Phoebe reflects on the silver lining of her experiences: it taught her how strong intuition is. We explore how embracing and building your intuition is synonymous to building an intimate relationship with yourself. How do you know if your mind is overruling your intuition? There are many playful ways to cultivate your intuition. How have you experienced following your intuition? What has it felt like, and what was the outcome? Phoebe and Eleni explore how they live within big life transitions, ways they work with transitions (both big and small), and how to create a more positive and intentional relationship with transition. Notes Being present through big life transitions Eleni shares her family’s current big transition and how everyone is coping During transitions, children can be a barometer of how the family is doing as a whole Phoebe shares how baths with salts can help her to transition from her day to night time Transitions, whether big life changes or the small transitions we experience throughout the day, are opportunities to notice how we sit with in-between times How doing new things can be a transition to new ways of being Phoebe shares her experience with InterPlay and how she’s experiencing this new exploration as connected and similar to the dreamworld Transitions are multidimensional, honoring the space between the old and new, full of periods of self discovery, family discovery and dynamics discovery Transitions can free our minds of expectations When transitions feel difficult our urge may be to make something happen or to create a distraction instead of waiting to see what wants to show up If a transition makes us feel uncertain, we may find ourselves inadvertently passing on that feeling to our kids or other people in our life. It’s always a good reminder to check to see if we’re transgressing into someone’s space. Phoebe shares how she puts up a gauge or barometer in her mind’s eye to find out how much change she’s integrated from the transition she’s experiencing. She also determines if there’s any fear in her body that’s blocking her from integrating the new to 100% There can be many reasons that a change is not yet fully integrated, including right timing. Phoebe and Eleni created a template for their Rooting Down, Expanding Out online course by accessing and translating symbols. They discuss symbols, how they appear to us and how to work with them. Length: 21:24 Notes Symbols appear to us as portals, vortices, sacred geometry, emitting light and a vibration. Phoebe and Eleni discuss their process of connecting with symbols to discover the template for their joint course. This process included: collaborating to create a symbol that held the energy of the course; connecting to the course’s symbol in a number of ways (including journeying into it; physically stepping into the symbol and embodying it). Symbols evolve and change like a living organism in this and other dimensions as different people relate with it and how they relate with it. When you intentionally sit with a personal symbol you may begin to feel the multidimensionality of life. Symbols may be or act as a hologram. Our dreams are symbols. When we dream we are astral traveling; we’re connecting to different dimensions to bring symbolic information into our bodies and consciousness to better understand who we are. Exercise: You’re invited to take 5 to 10 minutes to sit quietly with paper and pen with the intention to get clarity about something you want to birth. Sit feeling the desire to birth something or ask a question. Put marks or doodle on the paper. Doodling allows us to bypass the mind to get information from the core. Either post your paper on the wall and observe it daily or add to it daily. Remember connect the dots? When you’re finished you can connect the doodles to see what you’ve created from a different perspective. Links and References Rooting Down, Expanding Out online course details. Phoebe and Eleni look at how play and enthusiasm show up in ourselves and in the world around us. When we synchronize the heart and mind our enthusiasm and lightness can come out and play. Length: 20:32 Eleni shares how enthusiasm and lightness felt out of reach when working in the foster care system years ago. How we inadvertently add to the pain and trauma in the world by the way we hold other people’s pain. Phoebe talks about how her enthusiasm and play has shown up in life. How can we know when we’re using enthusiasm and joy as a distractor versus when we’re experiencing true joy? Phoebe talks about her mirror nightmare when she was 16 as a way to show how she accepted living in a dualistic world. Wholeness and joy create more joyful work Eleni’s recent experience of embodying the cosmos and mother earth and feeling it all within the body.
