And he calls the continued exploration for fossil fuels the stuff of dystopian science fiction. Ty Greene, Project Lead, Health Equity at the World Economic Forum tells us about health equity and how companies leading are pledging to achieve it. Caroline Casey, founder and director of the Valuable 500 tells Linda Lacina's Meet the Leader podcast about a surprising pivotal moment in her life that galvanized her life's work.  Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis tells Radio Davos why the world needs to unite behind Ukraine. Microsoft finalised their layoffs for this year cutting over 10,000 roles across its divisions. The tech giant says it has been forced to take these measures in the face of a slowing global economy. Big numbers out today - in the Eurozone – indicate that price rises are cooling. The European Central Bank says consumer inflation in the 20-nation eurozone was 9.2% last month compared to a year ago. Meanwhile, Japan is facing relatively high inflation, a falling yen and pressure on wages. In such a scenario - usually central banks try to hike interest rates but not the Bank of Japan. After two days of meetings - it decided to maintain its ultra-easy monetary policy. On day three of the World Economic Forum in Davos, business leaders are being urged to do more to ensure that talented disabled workers can make it to the top. Caroline Casey is a disability activist and founder of The Valuable 500 - a group of top companies who have signed up to do more to promote the inclusion of disabled workers in their business.   The Valuable 500 is using the power of business to drive lasting change for the 1.3 billion people around the world who are living with a disability.   They are a collective of 500 businesses and CEOs, chaired by Paul Polman (former CEO of Unilever), who are innovating for disability inclusion, and who include some of the most recognised firms and brands around the world: Google, Microsoft, Apple, Deloitte and Barclays, to name a few. These 500 companies represent 22 million employees around the world, in 64 sectors, with $8 trillion in revenue power. Caroline is unequivocal that this is an initiative that comes from the heart; if we can make business good, we can change the world. We also learn about Caroline's personal challenges and disability: being legally blind (having been diagnosed with ocular albinism, a genetic condition that severely impairs vision), having to remortgage her house in order to get the Valuable 500 off the ground and going to great lengths to get Paul Polman on board. We've heard a lot about diversity and inclusion in workplaces, but one group is often left behind: people with disabilities, visible and invisible. Given that millions of people were allowed to work flexibly during the pandemic, how can we extend that mindset shift to make permanent improvements for staff with disabilities? In this episode Isabel Berwick talks to campaigner Caroline Casey, founder of the Valuable 500, an alliance of 500 global chief executives who are committed to disability inclusion. Caroline points out that the silence at the top of companies sets the tone for everything that happens - since CEOs aren't coming out as having lived experiences of disability, that allows inertia further down in their organisations. For an account of how it feels to be a neurodiverse employee, and the benefits that this difference brings to a team - Isabel talks to Naomi Rovnick, an FT markets reporter who was recently diagnosed with dyspraxia. Caroline and Naomi offer some practical next steps for managers and leaders in any organisation: it's time to be open about disability. Want to read more?
