Donald Trump droht wieder - und dieses Mal will es der US-Präsident nicht nur beim Drohen belassen. US-Soldaten sollen Deutschland verlassen, offenbar als Bestrafung für kritische Äusserungen des Bundeskanzlers über Trumps Iran-Strategie. Für TT-Moderator Ingo Zamperoni dennoch keine Kurzschluß-Reaktion aus dem Weissen Haus: "Die Pläne lagen schon in der Schublade". Seine Frau, die deutsch-amerikanische Journalistin Jiffer Bourguignon, vermutet, dass der US-Präsident wieder Stärke zeigen will, nach dem gescheiterten Iran-Krieg: "Trump verliert nicht nur zuhause in den USA Unterstützung und kriegt viel ab“, schätzt Jiffer ein, „sondern auch in Europa". Der Besuch des britischen Königspaares in der vergangenen Woche in den USA hat viele Wellen geschlagen. Kein Land könne die großen Herausforderungen der heutigen Zeit "alleine bewältigen" hatte der britische Monarch dem US-Präsidenten in einer Rede vor dem US-Kongress mit auf den Weg gegeben. Die Rede von König Charles III. hat für viel positives Feedback gesorgt. Es sei eine Lehrstunde in Diplomatie gewesen, so die Einschätzung von Jiffer: "Kritik auf eleganteste Art und Weise", fasst sie die Rede zusammen. Die eigenen britischen Interessen zu formulieren ohne Donald Trump plump vor den Kopf zu stossen, das sei dem britischen König gelungen. Eine wichtige juristische Entscheidung ist durch den royalen Besuch aber fast untergegangen: Die Entscheidung des Obersten Gerichts, dass Wahlkreise nicht so zugeschnitten werden dürfen, um dort lebenden Minderheiten mehr Einfluß zu geben. Bisher hatte ein Gesetz von 1965 diese Möglichkeit geboten. Vor allem die schwarzen Bevölkerungsgruppen in den USA sollten damit besser repräsentiert werden. Die letzten Könige Judas (Jeremia 02)Verwalter eines Untergangs Der weinende Prophet – und was er uns lehrt – April 2026 Klagelieder, Strafankündigung, eine Gesellschaft nahe am Abgrund, reif für das Gericht Gottes, eine apokalyptische Untergangs-Stimmung. So die Atmosphäre in einem der längsten Bücher des Alten Testaments. Früher musste ich kurz Luft holen, bevor ich mich in die Klagen des Jeremia hineinwagte. Auch heute muss ich mich auf eine Achterbahn der Emotionen einstellen. Mal gibt es wieder Hoffnung, dass die Männer, die in Israel im Chefsessel sitzen, zu Sinnen kommen und das Schlimmste abwenden. Mal fühlt und heult man mit Jeremia mit, wenn er die Dringlichkeit der nationalen Krise spürt, die aber alle anderen kalt zu lassen scheint. Man fiebert beim Lesen mit. Das Buch liest sich stellenweise wie ein spannender Krimi, in dessen Seiten der Leser eine göttliche Rettung ahnt, die weit größer ist als eine militärische Abwehr der damals feindlichen Babylonier – eine Rettung, die sich bis in unseren Alltag heute heilend und tröstend hineinstreckt. Ich freue mich darauf, mit euch zusammen diese Studie zu machen! Nicht chronologisch geordnet – eine Reihe von Momentaufnahmen. Bezug zum Neuen Testament.
