But you haven’t changed your team even once have you? You haven’t tinkered, or changed your mind, have you? No, no, no, not you. I’m the only one of the currently 3 million registered FPL managers who continues to tinker with and radically alter the team they hope will conquer the fantasy world...

Here’s one prediction – as much as I like Lampard’s approach, Chelsea will not beat Arsenal this season and will finish behind them. And so what will be left with Liverpool still strong, City determined, United building up nicely as an attacking power? I think specialness will be required. Arteta has it. The only question is will he have enough depth?

If you don’t know, my Fantasy Premier League team is called “Expecting Goals”. That’s right, expecting, not expected, as per the sports analytics metric. The name suits me well because I’m an analytics fanboy who has zero numbers skills. I can’t generate numbers but I do try to use them...

One day later and I’ve already made some changes to my fantasy team picture. You might say that I’m “tinkering”. You might be right...
