Send us Fan MailThe moment you realize you can't “out-strategize” your nervous system is the moment everything changes. We sit down with thought leader, speaker, and former on-camera powerhouse Michelle Soro to talk about the deeper path that opens when visibility and achievement stop working the way they used to and a spiritual awakening demands honesty.Michelle shares what it felt like to fully wake up in August 2021, how that shock can register as trauma in the body, and why the following years became an unplanned retreat into truth: seeing the masks, the performance, and the patterns built around love, acceptance, and safety. From there, we dig into presence as something you can feel, not perform. When the agenda drops and the nervous system settles, leadership changes. We explore what “quiet leadership” looks like in real life, why impact matters more than big stages, and how reciprocity replaces hustle as the measure of aligned work.We also unpack Gene Keys in plain language: a contemplative system rooted in the I Ching and your birth data that maps an arc from shadow to gift to highest expression. The key insight is embodiment, which is why somatics, trauma-informed work, and attachment awareness matter so much for entrepreneurs, artists, and high achievers who tend to overcontrol and self-audit. Michelle closes with a mantra for hard days drawn from Wu Wei: “Easy is right.”Get to know Michelle Subscribe to The Heart of Show Business, share this with a friend who needs more ease, and leave a review so more people can find these conversations.Support the showThanks for listening! Marcus, Henry, and Ed return to the story of Anton LaVey as the Church of Satan enters the spotlight, crossing paths with Susan Atkins, Michael Aquino, and the heavily borrowed Satanic Bible. But as the rituals get bigger and the followers get weirder, LaVey finally makes it in Hollywood, where his influence reaches The Devil's Rain and Mr. Show Business himself, Sammy Davis Jr. For Live Shows, Merch, and More Visit: www.LastPodcastOnTheLeft.comKevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Subscribe to SiriusXM Podcasts+ to listen to new episodes of Last Podcast on the Left ad-free, plus get Friday episodes a whole week early.

Send us Fan MailA live TV director doesn't get the luxury of overthinking, because the show keeps moving. That's why this conversation with three-time Emmy Award-winning director and author Mary Madeiras hit me so hard: she's spent 30 years making split-second decisions in news, sports, talk shows, and daytime drama, and then life delivered a pivot she didn't plan for. When her contract isn't renewed on a major production, the floor drops out and a different kind of directing begins, one focused on clarity, intuition, and spiritual truth.Mary walks me through what Akashic Records actually are in practical terms: not a fantasy “library with floating books”, but a divine quantum field and vibrational imprint of the soul's journey. We connect the dots to modern consciousness language like the “field of possibilities”, and to older traditions that describe a Book of Life. The heart of it is simple and grounded: when you raise your vibration through intention, prayer, or meditation, you can access guidance that feels steady, loving, and free of judgement. We also go straight into the questions people are afraid to ask. Can you change what's in your records? What role does the ego play in suffering, self-doubt, and feeling stuck? Mary explains the difference between a larger soul theme and your day-to-day free will, and we talk about transmuting trauma by reclaiming the energy it locked away. You'll also get an easy practice you can do even in a busy life: write down what brings you joy, no judgement, and use imagination as a clean portal back to your power.Get Mary's Book hereIf you love conversations about Akashic Records, intuition, spiritual growth, creativity, and personal transformation, you'll feel right at home here. Send us Fan MailHe turned down a sure thing with Sam Peckinpah and said yes to a script with a strange title: Flashdance. That single choice reshaped Michael Nouri's acting career, and the way he tells it makes you feel how fragile “overnight success” really is.We talk with Michael about the long road behind the iconic roles: discovering theater in school, chasing work in New York, handling early on-camera fear, and learning how craft evolves when Hollywood keeps changing the rules. He shares what it was like to realize Flashdance had become a phenomenon, right down to the moment audiences stood up cheering and then poured out to buy the soundtrack. If you love filmmaking, film history, and the behind-the-scenes reality of casting, negotiation, and timing, this conversation delivers. Then we go deeper into the heart side of show business. Michael opens up about depression, the value of therapy and support systems, and how grief forces a recalibration after losing loved ones. At 80, he reflects on time speeding up, the fear of feeling irrelevant, and why a sense of purpose is non-negotiable. We also get one of my favorite Hollywood stories: how an eggplant parmesan sandwich led to Blake Edwards and Julie Andrews and a life-changing path to Victor Victoria on Broadway, plus what he's doing now in television and the memoir and charity book projects that keep his creative engine running. If this moved you, subscribe, share the episode with a friend, and leave a review so more artists and story lovers can find The Heart of Show Business.Let's keep this going!→ Instagram (daily insights + behind the scenes)→ Books & Author Page→ Work with Me → ShopGet Social with Michael Nouri Support the showThanks for listening! War is not merely business, it is show business. Just as an invisible virus was used to justify social changes and medical experiments, the war in Iran is providing for the same; and it is mostly invisible. From 2 weeks, masks, lockdowns and vaccine to 4 weeks, skyrocketing oil prices and temporary pain for great gain, the result is the same. Competition is shut down and the big players gobble up immense profits. This is especially true for oil and gas. With threats that someone will begin taking out desalination plants, the war has suddenly found itself at the forefront of the WEF and UN timeline for a global water crisis too. It is no coincidence that Iran has faced a severe water shortage in recent years, and some have blamed it on US and Israeli weather manipulation. Either way, the lack of water could, as the WEF put it, jeopardize the “very existence” of some countries. What a convenient result this would produce. Meanwhile the IEA has released a list of recommendations to deal with increasing energy costs, which include staying home, driving slower, taking public transport, and not flying. It also appears that most of what is coming out of the White House are strategic statements meant to soften the blow of the consequences of war. https://www.weforum.org/stories/2015/03/the-threat-to-global-security-from-water-shortages/ https://www.financialexpress.com/world-news/who-is-peter-brabeck-letmathe-successor-of-klaus-schwab-to-lead-the-world-economic-forum/3823396/ https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/iran-threatens-mass-water-war-with-strikes-on-key-plants-in-days-un-official-warns/ar-AA1ZblFd https://www.wri.org/insights/iran-war-water-crisis-middle-east https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSJ9fvkhdkM https://ofac.treasury.gov/media/935191/download?inline https://www.iea.org/reports/sheltering-from-oil-shocks/summary*The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. Februar 2026)

Whenever we talk about misinformation, the state of democracy, or what new technology is doing to public debate, one book comes up over and over again even though it was written 40 years ago. Amusing Ourselves to Death; Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business by Neil Postman. It argued distraction would be our undoing, and once everything becomes entertainment, serious thought to take on serious issues is hard to come by. Neil Postman saw this coming long before social media feeds, constant scrolling, and smartphones in every pocket. Andrew Postman is a writer and Neil Postman's son, He wrote the introduction to the latest edition of his father's prescient book. He offers insights into the man who sounded the warning about mindless screentime all those years ago.
What if one of the most overlooked business strategies could unlock high-value partnerships, accelerate growth, and put your brand directly in front of decision-makers—all in just a few days? In this episode of the 365 Driven Podcast, host Tony Whatley sits down with trade show expert Jennifer Hoff to pull back the curtain on the powerful—and often misunderstood—business of trade shows and conventions. Together, they explore how these large-scale events quietly drive billions in economic impact while creating unmatched opportunities for networking, deal-making, and brand positioning. Jennifer shares her journey from unexpectedly "falling into" the industry to becoming a leader responsible for launching and managing major events, offering listeners a rare insider perspective on what actually goes into producing successful trade shows. Business owners will gain practical insights into how exhibiting or attending the right event can deliver both tangible and intangible ROI—from closing deals to building long-term relationships that fuel sustained growth. The conversation also dives into how trade shows are evolving in the age of AI, why face-to-face connection is becoming more valuable than ever, and how even small businesses can compete and stand out on the show floor. Whether you are considering your first trade show or looking to maximize results from future events, this episode delivers actionable strategies, real-world examples, and a fresh perspective on leveraging live experiences as a powerful business growth tool. Key highlights: Trade shows are a multi-billion dollar industry driving real business and economic impact. In-person connection is more valuable than ever in today's digital world. As Monty Python would say, "and now for something completely different.” This podcast tries to explore all facets of our jewel we call magic. And one part of our entertainment community has its roots in the side show. Specifically, in the early to mid-1900's magicians were part of the traveling carnivals and performed side show acts using such illusions as the stocks, blade box, and more. But as the magicians went to the legitimate stage, the other side show performers stayed behind as independent nomads. But their business of finding work is just as important as magicians trying to find work. And for “freaks” in today's world, there are fewer venues (and perhaps audiences) who can “stomach” watching some of their acts. Moreover, freaks have become less shocking as being obesely overweight and covered in tattoos are now common sites at your local WalMart shopping centers. View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize This week Lizard Man tells us about why he chose to pursue a life and a lifestyle different from the “norm” and his commitment to getting tattoos and body piercings all over his body. But part of the focus of our conversation is how similar yet different our two crafts are when it comes to marketing. Magicians have a community to help, support, and direct, but the side show community is less giving and supportive. Jews have long been involved in entertainment and Hollywood. A new book has been launched that traces the family of a Jewish immigrant to Ireland who helped create modern entertainment there. It’s called: “The Outsiders Who Built Irish Entertainment.” Written by Wendy Elliman, it tells the story of Ireland’s leading entertainment entrepreneur, Mr. Show Business, Louis Elliman, and his family. She told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that Jews were able to break into cinema and entertainment because it was new and didn’t have the barriers older professions had. 2026 Show Notes Addendum: Our last [for now] Ch 2 rerun (our last Ch 2 rerun specifically shared with incoming NintenDomain listeners in mind in the wake of the recent Ch F "Channel Trey" one-off) This was the first episode of the last season of Ch 2 - the one where we announced to the listeners that Ch 2 would be shutting down, as well as the episode where I revealed my then very recently discovered African and Jewish ancestry. This episode also has the distinction of being my personal favorite episode in Ch 2 history with perhaps the lone exception of the 5 1/2hr long "C2F: 'Finally our Final Finale'" series retrospective. You can also hear our very last non-retrospective Ch 2, C2E20: "....all good things...." if you look back to the NNR Dec 2025 podcast feed. And with that.....NintenDomain fans now have had a great look at the seeds to what went on to make "Channel Trey", while long-time NNR fans get a look back on a handful of really great moments in Ch 2 (and "quasi-channel 2") history. Enjoy this last [for now] installment! :-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------Original 2024 Show Notes------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Today's Broadcast is C2E16 for Theme Thursday, March 7th, 2024. The owners of the horse show, Valitar, are a wealthy, conventionally attractive couple called the Remley's. Mark Remley is a little bit older. Perhaps nerdy, but the type of guy to get into peak shape later in life. Tatyana Remley is his wife with bottle blonde hair and a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model body. She's also the main star of the Valitar horse show. The Remley's invested over $20 million dollars into the show, just to lose every single penny of it after multiple scandals back to back. Allegedly, horses were abandoned with nothing to eat and massive creative differences led to performers quitting. Former staff members would come out to allege that Tatyana Remley doesn't even know how to ride a horse that well… Later, the couple is featured on TV as a well known swinger's couple, a pillar in the local sex-swinging community. That's just a side quest though; the most scandalous thing that happened at Valitar was the decapitated horse head on the Remley's marital bed. Thankfully, it's not an actual butchered horse head. It's just a hunk from one of their very expensive statues in their $5.5 million dollar home near San Diego, California. And it's clearly not been placed there as a mistake. This is a targeted threat. And by the end of the investigation, one of the Remleys, the founders of the failed multi-million dollar Valitar horse show, will be dead.
