Such a spectacular and talented actor! This interview was fun. Okay, Simon made the interview extremely fun because is such a wild card! I absolutely loved everything he said in this interview, and I did not want to miss a single word. With Hellraiser being my second favorite franchise and what Clive Barker poured into it, I will always be a Hellraiser fanboy. The special effects and makeup are riveting and unforgettable; from the Cenobites costumes and makeup to the practical special effects (and somewhat cheesy) but it's the best from that decade alone and it's certainly unmatched. Behind the mind of Clive Barker comes the Cenobites who thrive on your pain and desires at the same time, it's truly a franchise that cannot be touched by others. I am extremely glad that I had my Pinhead mask signed by the cast at the most recent Monster Mania Convention in Cherry Hill this past August. Truly a memory that I will never forget! Easter Egg: Simon and I have confirmed that you can see his costume, Butterball featured in “Halloween H20: 20 Years Later” which makes him a part of two franchises.

Maria Bamford – CROWD-PLEASER! From the jump, Maria Bamford brings her signature frantic, haphazard energy, doing a Chicago word association (“Hot dog, wind”) as she greets the audience. The Lady Dynamite actor is about as endearingly goofy as comedians get, and it's because of this that her jokes, especially her diatribes about mental health, work so well. Bamford is a rare comic who can make you laugh about intrusive thoughts and suicidal ideation thanks to both her absurdity and unflinching frankness. Key to Bamford's silliness and, thus, her success is her voice. Referring to someone's voice as an instrument can definitely elicit an eye roll from me, and yet no word feels more appropriate here. CROWD-PLEASER is consistently, characteristically Bamford—and by definition that means you'll be surprised by her suddenly slipping into an accent or doing an impression of a helium-voice kiddo. Bamford will whisper ever so softly, and then yell out a joke with Oprah levels of loud grandiosity. Her mere delivery of lines is funny, devoid of context, because her voice is so effective. Bamford's rhythmic patter during other parts borders on poetic, especially because of her careful word choice. Listening to this album makes you appreciate comedy as not just an art, but a craft. In her speech, Bamford told the crowd of graduates how much the university offered to pay her (nothing), her counteroffer ($20,000), and the amount they settled on ($10,000), which (after taxes and fees, etc.) she gave away to students in the audience to pay down their student loans.Maria Bamford is a big believer in full disclosure of her finances, a philosophy she's adopted after decades in a Debtors Anonymous support group. On September 26, 2022, at approximately 2:03 a.m. local time in the Baltic Sea off the southeast coast of the Danish island of Bornholm, the Nord Stream 2 underwater pipeline was rocked by a blast. That explosion, followed by a series of other targeted detonations on the older Nord Stream 1 pipelines some 17 hours later, were swiftly assessed to be the result of deliberate sabotage. The explosions off the Swedish and Danish coasts set off an international mystery with unimaginably high stakes. There are a variety of international players, including powerful nation states, who would have had the motive, capability, and opportunity to conduct such an operation.This week on Intercepted, investigative journalist and author James Bamford takes us on a tour of what he calls “the biggest Whodunnit of the century.” Bamford is one of the most respected experts on U.S. intelligence operations and covert action. He is the author of several best-selling books, including “The Puzzle Palace: A Report on America's Most Secret Agency” and “The Shadow Factory: The Ultra-Secret NSA From 9/11 to the Eavesdropping on America.” His most recent book is “Spyfail: Foreign Spies, Moles, Saboteurs, and the Collapse of America's Counterintelligence.”Last week, The Nation published a story by Bamford in which he argues that Ukraine and Poland should be viewed as the top suspects in the sabotage and that the U.S. government almost certainly knows exactly who bombed the pipelines and how.
