Just how long was Bernard in The Sublime, and when are we now? Listeners weighed in this week with voicemail and email ranging from conservatively logical to Big D's Express Train to Crazytown. Season 4, Episode 3 also had listeners thinking deep about identity when it comes to Christina, Charlotte, Maya, William, Frankie, and even Peter. The Shat Crew received some hot takes on how good and how bad "Westworld" has become, and Discount Don peered deep into the madness that is TV podcasting. Listen to more great music from Simon: www.soundcloud.com/simonsteric Westworld Episode 3 Summary:Maeve and Caleb find the Temperance park to follow events similar to Westworld and sneak in among killed hosts to enter the maintenance areas. There, Maeve senses something is still off as Dolores' attack on Westworld is also mimicked, and they find yet another level where it appears human captives are forced to act on sound, killing themselves. Bernard meets Akecheta in the Sublime, who informs him of the infinite possibilities that lead to destruction but one path which doesn't. Bernard wakes, years later in the real world. He and Ashley follow steps that Bernard sees as taking the right path, including meeting up with a human resistance to find a weapon. Uwade and Frankie pack to leave their home with the help of Caleb's friend Carver. Frankie senses something is wrong with Carver and finds the human Carver's dead body. Telling her mom, the two hide from the fake Carver and kill him. Caleb discovers Frankie as one of the test subjects, but Maeve discovers too late there is something off, and Frankie is revealed as a host, exposing Caleb to the droning sound of flies. Excitement and depth returned to "Westworld" in a big way as our favorite host duo—Stubbs and Bernard—began their quest to save humanity. In this Season 4 Episode 3 Deep Dive, the Shat Crew explores what Bernard saw in his Sublime visions and how that impacts our perception of time. We also rejoin Maeve to explore the new park, ask what makes Caleb so special (again), dissect the science behind the flies and the low-frequency resonance generator, and debate whether we just saw a grown-up Frankie. By Matthew Nemeth Me and David are back this time to talk about Westworld on HBO and Sky Atlantic for 208 ‘Kiksuya‘. A very different but definitely still great, entertaining and interesting episode this week as we follow a member of the ghost nation, Akecheta, yes, Read More
Wichapi was the matriarch of the village in “Kiksuya.” It was a small part, but quite essential to Akecheta’s journey. We spoke to the actress behind the part, Irene Bedard who is also the voice actor of Disney’s “Pocahontas.” We spoke with Irene about her heritage, her experiences on the show, and of course, what it’s like being Pocahontas. We didn't forget, it just took us a while to wrap our minds around Westworld season 2, and to be honest, we're still not sure we understood everything. After all, we might already be inside the thing, right? While Tim gushed over yet another Veronica Mars connection (despite not actually having seen the pivotal flash-forward scene), the rest of us pondered the philosophical nature of life, souls, clones and resurrections, tried our best to pronounce ‘Akecheta', found way too many comparisons to The Matrix and Minority Report, and attempted to make sense of the show's numerous, confusing-yet-enthralling use of timelines. We think we did pretty well, just don't test us for fidelity. Hosted by: ‘Captain Boomerang' Greig Tansley (@GreigT13). Featuring: ‘Superjew' Jared Robinovitz (@superjew75), ‘Dad in Black' Tim Agne (@timagne) and ‘Official Chef-UNT' Craig D'Cruze (@WWECHEF). Music by Ramin Djawadi.

This week, Les chats with 'Westworld' actor Zahn McClarnon about playing Akecheta, the trust it takes to work on such a secretive and complex show, and how native representation in television has changed in recent years. Check it out!
Zahn McClarnon’s performance as Akecheta in “Westworld” was one of the highlights of season two. We got the chance to interview him and spoke with him about how he got started in acting (2:38), how he ended up on “Westworld” (8:06), his Native American culture (13:16), the makeup (32:49), horseback riding (37:26), filming in stunning locations (40:53), his role in “Reunion” and a fun behind-the-scenes story (44:16), the brilliance of “Kiksuya” (51:22), and much more! Season two of Westworld was rich with religious symbolism and commentary. Scholar of religion Andrew Aghapour joins us to discuss Dolores and Bernard as prophets (5:29), free will and choice (12:03), James Delos and resurrection (18:33), Akecheta and the Ghost Nation (27:39), the concept of multiple worlds (33:34), and looking forward to season three (41:19).
Join Matt, Logan, and Justin as they finish up their review series of Season 2 of Westworld with the 90-minute long season finale: The Passenger! Join the three as they begin by discussing their thoughts of both the episode and the season at large (1:23). They move on to examing the first half of the episode by breaking it up into two parts - The Valley Beyond with Maeve and Akecheta (8:54) and The Forge with Bernard and Dolores (21:40). The largest chunk is dedicated to the Mesa and Beyond (31:39) before tackling that hidden post-credits stinger and what that might mean (52:36). They finish the episode with their vague predictions for Season 3 before bidding farewell to the series (1:01:26). Thanks for sticking with us through the season review, we really do appreciate it!
They finally attack the Mesa plus we get Akecheta's backstory. What a couple of great episodes. The Hosts Of Westworld: A podcast dedicated to HBO's Westworld
This Ghost Nation backstory blew our minds. We follow our new hero Akecheta on his journey to sentience and his mission to find the door. This week's episode of HBO's Westworld was truly a thing of beauty. Learning about the long and winding journey of Akecheta, exquisitely played by Zahn McClarnon, in his search for truth, meaning, and his long lost love, was as profound a watching experience as I've had these past few years. Along the way he unlocks his own consciousness, meets god and the devil, and learns about a path his people may take to be free forever. Will he reach The Door? What, and who, will he find there? And will Maeve make it to be reunited with her daughter currently under Akecheta's protection? We discuss this, you feedback, and the theories and speculation everyone's buzzing about on this week's pod!
"Kiksuya" ranks among the easiest Westworld episodes to follow and the most emotionally powerful. But that doesn't mean it wasn't without mysteries to unpack. How did Maeve communicate with Akecheta from across the park? What did she say? And what was the meaning when you dive a level deeper? How much did Ford help Akecheta in his journey, and what are the different paths to consciousness? We also examine Logan's role in Akecheta's discovery of The Door and learn how to pronounce Akecheta's name ... which Big D promptly forgets.
In Westworld episode 8, "Kiksuya," we follow Akecheta, a member of Ghost Nation, through his process of gaining consciousness, and no we definitely did not cry through the whole episode. Unfortunately, the Man in Black is still friggin' alive, and, apparently, so is Logan; Akecheta finds him in the desert naked and afraid, but Logan doesn't seem to remember meeting him in episode 2. We also learn about the scope of Maeve's Jedi powers, and wonder if a Robert Ford hologram would work in Westworld. This episode is all about finding the right world. In this episode Nick, Jon, and Alex discuss season two episode eight of HBO’s Westworld titled “Kiksuya”! Does the show finally have a hero to root for? Why does Akecheta switch between English and Lakota? How can he walk through the Mesa halls undetected? All of that and much more on this week’s episode of … The post 2×08 Kiksuya appeared first on Westworld FM - A Podcast About HBO's Westworld.
This week the dynamic double dating daredevils ponder the origins of religions and myths, Orpheus descending into Hades, how the Man in Black is still alive, where Maeve's posse is, how Akecheta could wonder around the Mesa (while accompanied by a piano rendition of one of Nirvana's greatest sonds)without anyone noticing and the nature of the Valley Beyond.
Westworld delivers one helluva story as we learn the background of Ghost Nation and their leader, Akecheta. After the humans took away his true love, Kohana, he made finding The Maze and, more importantly, The Door his life's work. And then there's Maeve... poor, poor Maeve. Questions or comments? Violent Delights is a weekly podcast where hosts Andrew Sorcini, Dwayne DeFreitas, and Tosin Onafowokan discuss HBO’s Westworld, and the larger questions this ambitious show hopes to tackle. On this week’s podcast, Andrew, Tosin, and Dwayne deconstruct the seventh episode of Westworld's second season, Episode 2.8 "Kiksuya," as they ask, How can Akecheta "see" the Delos construction?, What has Delos buried in the valley below?, Is the Maze the trigger for the Natives' awakening?, AND...WAIT, WHERE DID ELSIE GO?!! SHE WAS RIGHT HERE JUST A MOMENT AGO!!!
