Eric Anglin tells us the importance forgiveness. I myself had never heard or thought of forgiveness or the lack of being able to forgive keeping me out of Heaven, but it definitely makes sense. Let's Go To Church is a spin off series dedicated to growing closer to God and hopefully getting a better understanding of the Bible. Danny aims to have Preachers from all over in the studio to either Preach an actual Sermon, or have Bible study. We here at the WUW Podcast have a deep faith in God and all of his blessings and we want to bring this series to you in the hopes of reaching someone out there in possibly troubled times.

We were excited to be joined by Will this week. Will has been one of the most frequently requested guests on our discord. He's one of the brains behind Tension climbing, and so he knows a heck of a lot about one of our favourite topics, board climbing! He also used to be a coach and has clearly spent a lot of time thinking about training in general and has some great takes. In this episode, Kyra and Allison had the pleasure of going to the Tension Climbing shop in Denver, Colorado and chatting with Will Anglin before their flight home about how the Tension brand started and how he developed the Tension Board 2 (aka the TB2). It was fascinating to learn about the process, starting from learning from lessons with their first product (the TB1), to creating holds digitally, setting the board, and then working within constraints to finally get what we now see in gyms across the entire country and world. Will sprinkles in some of his own philosophy and vast climbing wisdom throughout, enjoy!

After a slow season across much of the region, Anglin reports that activity in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio is finally “heating up” thanks to a weather system that is bringing colder temps and windier conditions. Holley gives the meteorological details around what's driving the change and gives an optimistic report that we may see unsettled weather and colder temperatures continuing into early December. ALCATRAZ: THE LAST ESCAPE Tonight: The Planning, Implementation and Execution of The Alcatraz Escape Its a story of greed, sex, lust, gangsters, strippers and a group of prisoners who were tired of being prisoners. Escaping from THE ROCK as it was called was no small feat. But Frank Morris, John Anglin, and Clarence Anglin were no ordinary prisoners. They were cunning, smart and determined to beat the Rock known as Alcatraz the Inescapable. And so they did and the rest as they say is History. Or is it? I've said on this show many times, real life is far stranger than anything any writer could ever make up.  ALCATRAZ: THE LAST ESCAPE by Ken Widner and Mike Lynch tell the story you DIDN'T know about the men who made the history books. Fred Brizzi - Michael Dyke, the last Deputy Marshal assigned to the case, said Brizzi was "a drug smuggler and a con man," and was suspicious of his account of the Anglin Bros. Brizzi's widow said that she never heard him mention seeing the Anglin brothers in Rio, and that he was “a con man” who was prone to making up stories. MARIANNA REFORM SCHOOL In recent years, searches using ground-penetrating radar have discovered dozens of unmarked graves on school grounds. By late 2014, researchers have recovered the remains of fifty-five African-American boys. For decades the school remained segregated; blacks were not buried with whites. Thirty-one other boys are buried in a small cemetery, the only marked graves on the property. Most suspect many more graves are waiting to be found on the campus. “Baby, money isn't always the solution. Across America, we're still in the middle of a great re-making of the news industry. The decline that began several years ago hasn't abated, but new models of journalism are beginning to take root, many of them organized as nonprofits. Much of that growth is fueled by a new philanthropic collaborative. According to its website, "Press Forward is a national coalition investing more than $500 million to strengthen local newsrooms, close longstanding gaps in journalism coverage, advance public policy that expands access to local news, and to scale the infrastructure the sector needs to thrive."rnrnWhen Dale Anglin took the helm of Press Forward as its inaugural director, she spoke about the importance of proximity. "We know proximity supports trust building," she said. "Local journalism is proximity. It provides knowledge and information that's not only important for quality-of-life decisions but also can serve as a powerful mechanism for motivating people to take action."rnrnAs part of the City Club's 2024 Annual Meeting, and at a moment when voters prepare for one of the most consequential elections in a generation, Anglin joins City Club CEO Dan Moulthrop for a conversation about the state of free speech, the news industry, and access to information across our communities.

It is an enduring mystery whether Frank Morris, and brothers John and Clarence Anglin, escaped from Alcatraz prison on June 11, 1962. It is widely believed that they succumbed to the waters of San Francisco Bay, though no trace of the men has ever been found―only their makeshift raft. In this reexamination of the escape and its aftermath, Ken Widner presents compelling evidence that his two Anglin uncles did in fact survive and eventually made their way to Brazil, where they married and had children―evidence which corroborates the stories he heard about his uncles while growing up. Widner and Mike Lynch make a strong case for the Anglin brothers' survival using official government documents showing how mobster Mickey Cohen may have been involved in their escape, revealing letters from fellow inmate Whitey Bulger, and recorded testimony from the person who facilitated their escape to Brazil. In addition, there is a 1975 photograph of the brothers in Brazil which has overcome all challenges to its authenticity by skeptics. Join us for a fascinating deep-dive into Bay Area history. Scott Anglin is joining Parker on this episode of the Southern Collective Hunting Podcast. Scott relives a couple of recent hunts with us that he really felt came as a by product of his Kill Switch flipping. He talks about the value of finding like minded guys to share camp with. Surrounding yourself with hardcore hunters that may even be more accomplished than you, is a sure fire way to become a better hunter every time. While we cover a few topics like access and fitness, we really dive deep into Scott's flexibility to hunt the best weather days, and surrounding himself with great bowhunters have been his biggest Kill Switch moments. This is going to be a continued theme for us this summer. If you've got a "Kill Switch Moment" you think other hunters would find value in, send us a message on Fb or IG and share it with us! Retired agents Christian Anglin and Craig McLaughlin review Operation Crown Prince, an investigation into Afghan nationals residing in the U.S. transporting heroin into the country and providing proceeds to the Taliban, Al-Qaeda and insurgents as a means of material support for their operations combating U.S. and allied forces. The case was nicknamed “The Great Chicken Caper” as it originated with intelligence that proceeds were laundered through Afghan owned fried chicken businesses along the east. Host Chris Jennings is joined by Jay Anglin, Great Lakes Region Migration Editor for ducks.org to talk about the pace of the light goose migration in 2024. Anglin brings insight into the spring migration across the Mississippi and Central Flyways and offers information he has gathered throughout the entire season. Late January's mild temperatures sent the spring migration into overdrive, but as the geese pushed further north, they have run into the snowline along the US and Canadian border.www.ducks.org/DUPodcast

In this episode, Joe and guest co-host Erica Rex interview Elizabeth Anglin: spirit medium, animal communicator, intuitive healer, alien abductee, and author of Experience: Memoirs of an Abducted Childhood. She talks about her early abduction experiences, the time when she and her father realized they were both being abducted at the same time (from different locations), and the horrifying experience of six beings entering her apartment and realizing she knew one of them. These experiences led her to Budd Hopkins, and eventually John Mack (who did regression work with her) and the John E. Mack Institute, where she became a peer mentor for abductees. She talks about the validity of alien abductions, the concept of spiritual ecology, and the importance of listening to people: There's so much we don't know, so is it fair to label experiencers as schizophrenic just because we can't replicate the experience? She discusses: The commonality of people from the same family being abducted and why some people are lifetime abductees while others are only taken once The differences in abductions and how some seem to only be mental while others are physical and extremely painful The story of Linda Napolitano and the famous Brooklyn Bridge abduction Regressive hypnotherapy work: Are the memories you're recovering accurate? Quantum biology, the Penrose-Hameroff quantum theory of consciousness, parallel realities, time travel, and quantum jumping and so much more! As the X-Files made famous: The truth is out there. And this episode is definitely pretty out there! Click here to head to the show notes page.

Nightmares of the Americas: Indigenous Tales

Let's get in to part 3 of Alcatraz, in this episode we go over the start of the federal prison, the notorious inmates, and the close of the prison.  Alcatraz, often dubbed "The Rock," began its journey as a federal prison in 1934. Its location on a desolate island in San Francisco Bay made it an ideal site for housing some of the most notorious criminals in American history. The prison was designed to hold prisoners who caused trouble at other penitentiaries or were considered extremely dangerous.Notable inmates included the likes of Al Capone, the infamous Chicago mob boss, who served time for tax evasion. Another was George "Machine Gun" Kelly, a notorious gangster. The Birdman of Alcatraz, Robert Stroud, although famous for his bird studies, was actually incarcerated at Leavenworth and never kept birds while at Alcatraz.Alcatraz was characterized by its stringent security measures and the belief that it was inescapable. Despite this reputation, there were attempts to escape, one of the most famous being the 1962 attempt by Frank Morris and the Anglin brothers. They crafted dummy heads to fool the guards and managed to escape through tunnels but were presumed to have drowned in the bay during their getaway. The prison faced deteriorating infrastructure and escalating maintenance costs, leading to its closure in 1963. The isolated island prison was deemed too expensive to maintain and had lost its efficacy as newer, more advanced facilities emerged. After its closure, Alcatraz gained notoriety as a tourist destination and a symbol of America's criminal justice system.
