Dan and Ellen talk with Dale Anglin, the inaugural executive director of Press Forward, a philanthropic effort that is dedicated to funding local news initiatives nationwide. Before she was named as the leader of Press Forward, Anglin served as a vice president for grantmaking at the Cleveland Foundation. She also led the foundation's journalism strategy. Then and now, she focuses on local news and information as a way to restore a sense of community. Dan has a Quick Take on The Baltimore Banner, one of the most prominent nonprofit digital startups. It looks like readers of The Washington Post who live in the DC area may not be deprived of local news and sports after all despite the recent deep cuts ordered by its billionaire owner, Jeff Bezos. The Banner is expanding, and it's part of executive editor Audrey Cooper's mission to build civic engagement through community journalism.  Ellen's Quick Take is on a bill in New York state that attempts to put some guardrails around the use of artificial intelligence in newsrooms. Among other things, it would require disclosures, and mandate supervision and fact-checking by actual human editors. It received a hearty endorsement from journalism industry unions. But there's a lot of catching up to do to reign in the robots.

Paul reminds us in Ephesians 3:20-21 that God is able to do above and beyond all we ask or think. Nothing in your life takes God by surprise - He operates on a completely different level than we do. There's power in asking God questions rather than just making statements in prayer. When we ask questions, we demonstrate faith and create intimacy with God. Sometimes we don't ask because we lack confidence in God's ability or fear His answer. Remember what God has already done in your life to build confidence for present prayers.

Dylan shares his journey from hitting rock bottom—selling paint at a hardware store—to building a thriving plumbing business over the past decade. Starting with no experience, he learned the trade on the job and now runs a company handling everything from simple fixes like clogged toilets and leaky pipes to full remodels, new construction, and commercial projects. Specializing in tankless water heaters, Dylan discusses industry challenges, the importance of fair pricing (especially for elderly clients), and recent issues like banned gas flex pipes in Jackson. He also talks about hiring opportunities for motivated individuals ready to learn and earn, plus his commitment to community support through donations to veterans' causes.

True worship extends far beyond Sunday morning singing or church attendance. According to Romans 12:1, biblical worship means presenting our bodies as living sacrifices to God in response to His mercies. This involves offering our entire being - thoughts, actions, and daily choices - as continuous acts of worship. True worship is a family experience among believers, begins by recognizing God's abundant mercies, and requires actively surrendering ourselves to Him. Rather than being limited to emotional responses or religious activities, authentic worship is a lifestyle of daily surrender where every moment becomes an opportunity to honor God with how we live.

In Numbers 32, two and a half tribes of Israel chose to settle for less than God's best, staying in familiar territory instead of entering the Promised Land. They chose their cattle over Canaan, representing how we often choose comfort over God's calling. The cattle in our lives might be jobs, relationships, money, or anything familiar that keeps us from pursuing God's abundant plan. When we settle for good enough instead of God's best, we not only limit ourselves but also impact future generations. God calls us to cross over from the wilderness of mediocrity into the promised land of supernatural living, where His presence and power transform ordinary life into extraordinary purpose.

Many Christians focus on church attendance and involvement but lack a foundational element: personal devotion with God. True devotion involves spending consistent time with God through Bible reading and prayer, just as any relationship deepens through time invested. The Bereans provide an excellent example by examining Scripture daily with eagerness and scrutiny. Effective Bible reading requires a study Bible, distraction-free environment, and focusing on quality over quantity. Prayer follows a three-part method from Matthew 6: acknowledge God as Father, align with His will, then appeal with your needs. Starting with just 10-15 minutes daily can transform your spiritual foundation and maturity.

Many Christians struggle with church commitment, but being connected to a local church is essential for spiritual growth. The enemy actively fights against church involvement because committed believers become powerful soldiers in God's army. Missing church can easily become a habit that causes you to miss divine appointments and God's movement. To break this pattern, get involved through serving rather than just attending, and build encouraging relationships with other believers. As we approach the end times, church commitment becomes even more critical for spiritual strength and community support.

True faith in Jesus is transformational and cannot be hidden. It's more than a simple prayer or one-time decision—it's a life built on the solid foundation of Christ. When genuine faith takes root, it shows in how you live, speak, and respond to challenges. Real faith is tested not on Sunday mornings, but when bills pile up, relationships crumble, or health crises hit. You can't build a lasting Christian life on borrowed beliefs or secondhand knowledge. Eventually, you need to know what you believe and why you believe it through personal Bible study, small groups, and learning from mature believers.

The Christian life is like running a race where the goal isn't to win first place, but to finish what you started. We have witnesses cheering us on—both those who have already finished their race in heaven and those currently watching our faith journey. To run effectively, we must lay aside weights and sins that slow us down or stop us completely. Weights aren't necessarily sinful but can be good things that aren't God things, while sin prevents spiritual progress entirely. God never intended for us to run this race alone; we need a community of believers as our running pack. The ultimate goal is to cross the finish line and reach Jesus, making every step of the journey worthwhile.

Two thousand years ago, a baby was born who would change everything about our world. This wasn't just any ordinary child, but the fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy about a coming Messiah. God chose to enter our world as a helpless infant because Jesus needed to experience the full scope of human existence to serve as our substitute. Jesus holds unique distinctions - He was the only person to schedule His own birth, was conceived by a virgin, and received a celestial welcome from heaven's host. Isaiah reveals Jesus as both a gift and a governor, carrying the weight of all rule and authority upon His shoulder. He rules over three realms: Hades, Heaven, and Humanity, and will return as the conquering King. The baby who changed everything continues to transform lives today as our source of true peace.

Elizabeth Anglin is a gifted Psychic Reader, Scientific Remote Viewer, Animal Communicator, Evidential Spirit Medium, and Reiki Master. The daughter of a biologist and science educator who is also psychically gifted, Elizabeth has spent much of her life involved in scientific research activities, assisting work in fields ranging from particle physics to nuclear engineering, chemistry, and environmental pollution and public policy. Elizabeth met Dr. John E. Mack in early 1990, when after having a series of unsettling conscious experiences with alien beings, she realised that her experiences with these beings had been lifelong, and that other members in her family, as well as members of the community she grew up in, had also had these experiences. While in shock over this realisation, she called Budd Hopkins, who arranged for her to meet with Dr. Mack to speak about working together to research her experiences. After their meeting in early May of 1990, Elizabeth became one of the first alien abduction experiencers to undergo regression with Dr. Mack, as well as one of the first alien abductees to speak about her experiences to a panel of psychiatrists at Harvard University. Elizabeth appears as the abductee "Anne" discussing the nature of time (pg. 173) in the book "Abduction" by Dr. John E. Mack and as "Amy" in "Alien Discussions - Proceedings of the Abduction Study Conference held at MIT. " As a member of a wider group of abductees, her information also appears in John E. Mack's "Passport to the Cosmos." She and Dr. Mack remain friends to the present day, with Dr. Mack sometimes taking advantage of her skills as an evidential spirit medium to give updates on his journey of life in spirit to friends and family. Elizabeth is currently writing a book about her lifelong experiences with aliens, and about what it was like to research these experiences with Dr. Mack. - www.elizabethanglin.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-x-zone-radio-tv-show--1078348/support.Please note that all XZBN radio and/or television shows are Copyright © REL-MAR McConnell Meda Company, Niagara, Ontario, Canada – www.rel-mar.com.

Once home to criminals like Al Capone, Alcatraz was considered escape-proof—until 1962, when Frank Morris and the Anglin brothers vanished in a daring and ingenious escape involving handmade dummies, a raft made of raincoats, and months of careful planning. Eric Anglin tells us the importance forgiveness. I myself had never heard or thought of forgiveness or the lack of being able to forgive keeping me out of Heaven, but it definitely makes sense. Let's Go To Church is a spin off series dedicated to growing closer to God and hopefully getting a better understanding of the Bible. Danny aims to have Preachers from all over in the studio to either Preach an actual Sermon, or have Bible study. We here at the WUW Podcast have a deep faith in God and all of his blessings and we want to bring this series to you in the hopes of reaching someone out there in possibly troubled times.

We were excited to be joined by Will this week. Will has been one of the most frequently requested guests on our discord. He's one of the brains behind Tension climbing, and so he knows a heck of a lot about one of our favourite topics, board climbing! He also used to be a coach and has clearly spent a lot of time thinking about training in general and has some great takes. Hope you enjoy! If you're enjoying our podcast then please do consider checking out our Patreon page : https://www.patreon.com/c/user?u=70353823Support the show

In this episode, Kyra and Allison had the pleasure of going to the Tension Climbing shop in Denver, Colorado and chatting with Will Anglin before their flight home about how the Tension brand started and how he developed the Tension Board 2 (aka the TB2). It was fascinating to learn about the process, starting from learning from lessons with their first product (the TB1), to creating holds digitally, setting the board, and then working within constraints to finally get what we now see in gyms across the entire country and world. Will sprinkles in some of his own philosophy and vast climbing wisdom throughout, enjoy!

On this special episode, Dr. Mike Brasher visits with Jay Anglin, DU Waterfowl 360 Migration Editor for the Great Lakes, and Mark Holley, chief meteorologist for WSAW-TV in Wausau, Wisconsin, about recent changes to weather conditions, bird movements, and hunter success across the Great Lakes. After a slow season across much of the region, Anglin reports that activity in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio is finally “heating up” thanks to a weather system that is bringing colder temps and windier conditions. Holley gives the meteorological details around what's driving the change and gives an optimistic report that we may see unsettled weather and colder temperatures continuing into early December. The timing couldn't be better for southern and mid-latitude duck hunters! Happy Hunting, y'all!Listen now: www.ducks.org/DUPodcastSend feedback: DUPodcast@ducks.org
