**Discussion begins at 4:45**Memorial Day is the US holiday observed on the last Monday of May, to honor our military personnel who have died in service to the country. Originally known as Decoration Day, the holiday began after the Civil War to commemorate fallen soldiers, and over time, it expanded to include all U.S. military service members who died in wars and conflicts. It is a day of remembrance and reflection to honor the sacrifices made by the armed forces and their families. Now Memorial Day is not to be confused with Veterans Day – which is observed on November 11 of each year, and honors all military veterans who have served both in wartime and peacetime, and recognizes the contributions of all veterans – both living and deceased. If you've been listening to this podcast for a while, you know that we are huge supporters of the military and we love our veterans. So in honor of the holiday, I thought we would take a look at some of the other sacrifices our military servicemen and women have made over the years, often without their knowledge. Unfortunately, many of these have proof proof – so they don't really even fall into the “conspiracy theory” realm, but they are definitely conspiracies…Send us a textSupport the showTheme song by INDA

The Billiwhack Monster is a creature said to haunt the hills near Santa Paula, California. First reported during the 1950s, the monster allegedly resides in or around the ruins of the old Billiwhack Dairy. According to local lore, a former military scientist who owned the dairy was connected to the OSS, the precursor to the CIA. The OSS allegedly had the owner of the dairy, August Rubel performing experiments beneath the dairy, and one of these secret projects involved attempts to create a super-soldier. Legend has it that one of these experiments went horribly wrong resulting in the creating of the Billiwhack Monster, a hulking, half man/half goat covered in dark fur, standing over seven feet tall, with immense strength and glowing eyes. During WW2 Rubel was sent abroad where he died. The family supposedly abandoned the property, leaving the monster to roam free and torment visitors. Sightings of the Billiwhack Monster are still reported – is there really a human experiment running free and harming locals? Or is this all an urban legend meets conspiracy theory stemming from the general distrust of the government during this time period?Send us a textSupport the showTheme song by INDA

Robert F. Kennedy, younger brother to John F Kennedy, former Attorney General and New York Senator, and a leading Democratic presidential candidate, was assassinated on June 5, 1968. He was at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California, shortly after delivering a victory speech following his win in the California primary. The official story is that Kennedy was shot multiple times by Sirhan Sirhan, a 24-year-old Palestinian man. Sirhan was quickly apprehended at the scene and later claimed that he was angry over Kennedy's pro-Israel stance, particularly his support for Israel in the wake of the Six-Day War in 1967. Kennedy was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the following day, on June 6, 1968.Although Sirhan Sirhan was arrested and convicted of the murder, many conspiracy theories have since emerged surrounding the assassination. Some people believe that there may have been a second gunman or that Sirhan's actions were part of a larger plot. These theories have been fueled by the fact that Sirhan's gun was only a small-caliber revolver which was inconsistent with the murder weapon, and the physical evidence suggested that the shots that killed Kennedy came from close range—closer than Sirhan was able to stand to the senator at the time. Some argue that there were additional shooters in the pantry, pointing to discrepancies in witness testimony and the trajectory of the bullets.Conspiracy theories point to the possibility of CIA or other government involvement, citing the political climate of the time, with Kennedy being a vocal critic of the Vietnam War and a potential force for change in U.S. politics. Others suggest that powerful figures within the Democratic Party may have had motives for silencing Kennedy as he was gaining momentum in the race for president. Did Sirhan Sirhan act alone? Or was he merely a victim of MK Ultra? Did he actually kill RFK, or was there someone else directly responsible?Send us a textSupport the showTheme song by INDA

**Discussion begins at 4:08**We are taking another look at the infamous sinking of the Titanic - This time discussing the conspiracy theory that the sinking was intentionally planned to ensure the success of the Federal Reserve. Was the sinking orchestrated to eliminate individuals who opposed the creation of the Federal Reserve System? Several wealthy men, including John Jacob Astor IV, Isidor Straus, and Benjamin Guggenheim, were all aboard the Titanic and died in the disaster. Today, they would be worth a combined 11 billion dollars. What else did they have in common? All three allegedly opposed the passage of the Federal Reserve Act, which aimed to centralize control of US monetary policy. The sinking of the Titanic occurred in April 1912, and the Federal Reserve Act was signed into law just over a year later in December 1913. Is this merely a coincidence? Or was there something more sinister at play?Send us a textSupport the showTheme song by INDA

**Discussion begins at 4:30**Let's go back to January 28, 2022 – Boston Police Officer John O'Keefe and his girlfriend, Karen Read, had been fighting. They decided to decompress and meet up in a bar in Canton, Massachusetts, knowing that a blizzard was coming and they were likely going to be snowed in for a few days. Karen met her boyfriend and his buddies at a bar about a mile from John's home, and then they went across the street to meet up with more of his friends. After last call, the couple was invited to an after party about 2.5 miles away at the home of Boston Police Officer Brian Albert. Karen didn't enter the house, for reasons we will get to later, but she dropped of John and then drove herself to his home where she allegedly fell asleep on the couch. When Karen awoke around 5AM, she noted that John had not come home and began searching for him with the help of some friends. They found him dead in the snow in front of the Albert residence, eventually leading to the arrest of Karen Read. Prosecutors allege that Karen backed into John with her SUV, and left the scene, causing John O'Keefe to die d/t a basilar skull fracture and hypothermia. She was charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, motor vehicle homicide, and leaving the scene of a deadly crash. The defense, however, claims that John O'Keefe was likely killed by someone inside the house and that the witnesses, many of whom were affiliated with the Boston Police Department, utilized their resources to cover up the true cause of death and frame Karen Read. The trial, lasting more than 2 months, and including more than 600 pieces of evidence and 70 witnesses, ended in a mistrial last July. The foreman told the judge "The divergence in our views are not rooted in a lack of understanding or effort but deeply held convictions that each of us carry, ultimately leading to a point where consensus is unattainable," the jury of six men and six women were hung after 4 days of deliberation. Polling of the jurors revealed that they had all agreed that she was not guilty of murder or leaving the scene but had been confused about how to deliver a partial verdict. She is currently being retried for the same charges. Send us a textSupport the showTheme song by INDA

**Discussion begins at 5:00**Gabby Petito was born and raised in Blue Point, New York and was the oldest of 7 children in a blended family. While attending Bayport Blue Point High School, she met Brian Laundrie. After graduating in 2017, they reconnected and began dating in 2019. Eventually, they decided to move to Northpoint, Fl to live with Brian's parents. In 2020 they got engaged, and Gabby purchased a Ford Transit Connect - which the couple converted into a sleeper van. On July 2, 2021 they set off from New York on a 4 month roadtrip through national parks. Gabby was hoping to take off as a content creator, and was vlogging the journey on her YouTube and Instagram accounts about #vanlife. On August 12, 2021 police responded to a 911 call in Moab, Utah. The caller had reported seeing a man attacking a girl in a van driving by. The couple was separated and the police felt that Brian was the victim and no charges were pressed. They sent him to a domestic abuse hotel for the night, and she stayed in the van. The couple then proceeded on their trip. On August 25 Gabby made a final post to Instagram and then stopped responding to texts or phone calls. On September 11, Gabby's mother filed a missing persons report in Suffolk County, NY. When police went to the Laundries as part of a wellness check, they learned that Brian had returned home in Gabby's van, without her. But the Laundries had already hired an attorney and refused to cooperate with the police investigation. The investigation let them to Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, where Gabby's phone was last used. On September 19, 3 weeks after the investigation had begun, her body was found in the park. After the discovery of her body, a search warrant was issued on the Laundrie home, and it is then that we learn Brian Laundrie had disappeared days prior, last seen going on a hike. A month later, on October 20, Brian Laundrie's parents discover his body in Carlton Reserve, a nature preserve near their home. With him, they find a backpack that contains a journal with a partial confession – Brian claimed that he had killed Gabby, but only because she had a freak accident and was suffering and asked him to put her out of his misery. The coroner eventually ruled Brian Laundrie's cause of death to be suicide by GSW. However, a number of inconsistencies in the crime scene, and his parent's unwillingness to assist in the search for Gabby Petito, have led many online to speculate that Brian Laundrie is not actually dead, and that his parents helped him fake his death to cover it up.Send us a textSupport the showTheme song by INDA
**Discussion begins at 5:00**Today, we are deep diving into one of the most mysterious theories of the 21st century: The Dead Internet Theory. With the growing influence of AI, many people believe that the internet is slowly dying – not in a technical sense, but in terms of human interaction and creativity. Have we reached the inversion point? This is the point at which point the platforms have shifted from human creator driven to a system where bots, algorithms, or even AI tools are the ones responsible for generating the majority of content. In their pursuit of profitability and user engagement, did platforms begin to rely too much on algorithms to curate content, automate interactions, and even generate videos based on trends? Is the internet, as we know it, already dead, or is it merely transitioning into something unrecognizable? Send us a textSupport the showTheme song by INDA

**Discussion begins at 3:15**World War II was a global conflict that lasted from 1939 to 1945, involving the Allies (primarily the U.S, UK, and Soviet Union) fighting against the Axis powers, led by Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, and Fascist Italy. The war resulted in massive destruction, the Holocaust, and the reshaping of international power dynamics, ultimately leading to the formation of the United Nations and the beginning of the Cold War. During the war, the Nazis looted vast amounts of wealth, including gold, art, jewelry, and other precious materials. Much of the gold came from the central banks of occupied countries, particularly Belgium, the Netherlands, France, and Poland. They also seized gold from Jewish families, including rings, teeth fillings, and other personal items. As Germany faced inevitable defeat, high-ranking Nazi officials began to move large amounts of this looted wealth, including gold, out of sight. There were reports that huge amounts of gold were secretly stored in vaults, and some Nazi leaders began transferring the gold to places like Switzerland, where neutral banks could hold it safely. There are also theories that gold was hidden in underground bunkers, caves, or remote locations across Europe, either to be recovered later or to be kept out of the hands of the Allies. What do we know about the Nazi Gold, and is there more still out there?Send us a textSupport the showTheme song by INDA

**Discussion begins at 2:55**Today we are discussing the mysterious death of a Jane Doe, known under the alias of Jennifer Fairgate. In June 1995, she checked into the Oslo Plaza, a 5 star hotel in Norway. She checked in to the hotel using the alias, paid all cash, and was found dead in her hotel room several days after checking in with a GSW to the head. The cirucmstances were unusual. Her identity remains unknown, authorities were unable to find any records for a person with the name Jennifer Fairgate, and there are no credible traces of her existence before she appeared at the hotel. Her death was ruled a suicide, but the gunshot wound was found to be inconsistent with the normal pattern of a suicide. Despite many years of investigation, Jennifer Fairgate's identity remains unknown, and the true circumstances of her death have never been solved. The case has become a haunting mystery, with many questions but no answers. The lack of conclusive evidence about her identity or the reasons behind her death makes it one of the most enduring mysteries in Norway. Was it really suicide, as the police ruled? Was she an undercover agent, possibly from a foreign intelligence agency, whose death was meant to remain shrouded in secrecy. Or was she involved in some sort of illegal activity, perhaps as a witness, victim, or even a criminal herself?Send us a textSupport the showTheme song by INDA

**Discussion begins at 3:45**On November 24, 1971, the day before Thanksgiving, an unidentified man carrying a black attache case approached the Nothwest Orient Airlines desk at the Portland airport and paid cash for a one way ticket to Seattle. The ticket was sold to “Dan Cooper” and non-descript white male in his mid 40s with brown hair, brown eyes, dressed in a business suit and black raincoat. He boarded the Boeing 727, sat in the last row, and ordered a bourbon and 7-UP. He then passed a note to the flight attendant indicating that he had an explosive device and demanding $200,000 ransom, (the equivalent of $1.5 million today) as well as two from and two back parachutes. When the plane landed in Seattle, he collected the money and parachutes, allowed the 36 passengers to deplane, and instructed the crew to refuel and proceed to Mexico City via Reno, NV. About 30 mins after takeoff from Seattle, at approximately 8:13 p.m., evidence suggests that DB Cooper jumped from the aft stairwell, near the suburbs north of Portland. This remains the only unsolved act of air piracy in US history. Who was DB Cooper, and did he survive the dangerous jump?Send us a textSupport the showTheme song by INDA

**Discussion begins at 3:15**Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister famous for his role in the civil rights movement until his assassination in 1968, at the age of 39. He encouraged non-violent resistance and non-violent civil disobedience, leading marches for desegregation and equal rights. He is most famous for his role in the 1955 Montgomery bus boycott, and the 1963 March on Washington where he delivered his famous I have a Dream speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Despite his peaceful resistance, he was incarcerated several times and was an object of J. Edgar Hoover's FBI Counterintelligence Program – which was a series of covert and illegal projects between 1956 and 1971 aimed at surveilling, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting “subversive” political organizations. They investigated him for possible ties to communism, spied on him, and secretly recorded him. In 1964, the FBI sent him a package with a letter and a tape recording alleging of King's sexual indiscretions as an apparent attempt at blackmail. On April 4, 1968 James Earl Ray, a fugitive from the Missouri State Penetentiary, allegedly assassinated MLK Jr. However, many including MLK Jrs family, believe James Earl Ray was just the patsy. **Discussion begins at 5:30**On December 4, 2024, the week after Thanksgiving and well into the bustling holiday season, Brian Thompson, United Healthcare's CEO was gunned down right outside of a hotel in Midtown Manhattan - where he was on his way to a shareholder meeting. In the chilling street camera video, you see the shooter loitering as Thompson approaches the hotel, before the suspect shoots the CEO in the back, fires a couple more, and then turns and walks away. In the days that follow, there is a massive manhunt in NYC. NYPD swept the city, even taking to the river, for the shooter and killer of Brian Thompson. Meanwhile, news channels and social media accounts shared the grainy picture of a similarly dressed man checking into a hostel days prior - a white male with a dark hood up over his head and a mask over his face. He's shown leaning over the counter, his black mask pulled down, smiling at someone across the counter that is not pictured. Then, on Monday, December 9, a phone call came in from a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania, approximately 223 miles away from the crime scene, the caller claiming that someone matching the suspects description was there. The police, responding to the call, arrested 26 year old Luigi Mangione. Found on him during the arrest was the gun, the silencer, and a three page note detailing his plan to kill Mr. Thompson. But… something about Luigi's thick eyebrows seems out of place and doesn't match with the surveillance video that has many people pause over this seemingly too clean murder investigation. Outcries on reddit are claiming that Luigi is a Patsy, very much like our beloved Lee Harvery Oswald (Justice for Lee!), because how does one just get caught in a McDonalds with the murder weapon and a manifesto in his book bag just 5 days later? Is Luigi just too arrogant to believe he would be caught? Or is he being set up? Let's get into it. Send us a textSupport the showTheme song by INDA

**Discussion begins at 4:15**Since 1916, Boeing has been synonymous with safety and reliability. The company was responsible for the production of 100,000 airplanes for Allied Forces in WW2, the production of Air Force One, and revolutionizing air travel. The slogan was, “If it's not Boeing, I'm not going”. Following a merger with McDonnell Douglas, experts agree that the company had a culture shift, in which perhaps finances were prioritized over safety. This all came to a head when Boeing did a rapid roll out of the 737 Max, in an attempt to keep up with their only competition, Airbus. Following a slew of poor decisions, there were two plane crashes, with 346 deaths. Since that time, a number of employees have come forward to report safety issues with Boeing and it's contractor, Spirit Aerosystems. Things had been relatively quiet for Boeing, until last year when a number of safety issues brought them back into the news. Following a 2.5 billion dollar loss, 50,000 lay offs, and a drop in stocks by 26% in the first quarter, two of the Boeing whistleblowers died under mysterious circumstances within 2 months of each other. Were these just unfortunate tragedies? Or was Boeing behind the mysterious deaths?Send us a textSupport the showTheme song by INDA
**Discussion begins at 5:55**All aboard on this episode. Come with us on this trip through wild tales, smelly buses, and political drama. Join us for another listener request, as we discuss the secrecy behind Boston and New York City bus lines - specifically the history and drama of what was the Fung Wah, or should I say, the Fung "Ahhhhhh", as some of the passengers often did. Fung Wah was a bus system that would transport people to and from Chinatown in New York City to Boston, that closed suddenly in 2015. Today we are going to determine what happened to the buses after its closure. Were they bought by the MBTA, repainted, and sent back onto the streets? What really happened to Fung Wah?
