On today's episode of UFC Unfiltered, Jim Norton and Matt Serra are joined by a pair of highly-ranked UFC featherweights in Aljamain Sterling and Arnold Allen. Sterling reflects on his recent experience competing on a Karate Combat card before sharing his thoughts on UFC 304, going into extreme detail on both welterweight Belal Muhammad and lightweight Paddy Pimblett's victorious outings. Aljo wraps up his interview with a breakdown of Merab Dvalishvili's keys to victory against Sean O'Malley in the recently confirmed bantamweight title fight on September's UFC 306 card at the Sphere. Back in the win column after a two-fight skid, Arnold Allen calls in to explain the payoff of picking up a crucial win in the early hours of a Sunday morning card in his home country. Finally, the guys end the show by playing out matchmaking scenarios for the UFC's heavyweight division in light of Tom Aspinall's impressive win over Curtis Blaydes.
In today's episode, Fares and Josh react to this past weekend's UFC 304 card from Manchester, England. Belal Muhammed proves the world wrong and beats Leon Edwards (2:52). Tom Aspinall KOs Curtis Blaydes in the first round (12:22). Paddy 'The Baddy' finishes King Green early—why'd you shoot, Bobby? (19:40). Arnold Allen scores a unanimous decision in his return to the octagon (28:39). A strange outcome to the Muhammed Mokeav story—what does his future look like? (31:45). To close the show, the boys react to the latest announcement of the UFC 306 Sphere Card (37:34)HBP Merch HBP on IG:https://www.instagram.com/thehbpod_/

Make sure to subscribe and follow the show for new weekly episodes. The buzz around UFC 304 has been surprisingly quiet; Kamaru and Henry are here to help. Before 304 breakdowns and predictions the guys take a quick 10 minutes reacting to the Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry boxing match that took place this past weekend. Naturally, the guys have slightly different views on the bout, the performances from both men, and that not-so-subtle Pereira callout from Jake. What's a fight between Paul and Pereira actually look like? Let the debate begin. Alright - time to get into the action of UFC 304: Leon Edwards vs. Belal Muhammad 2. A widely anticipated main and co-main event preceded by some sneaky and not-so-sneaky matchups. This week's Underdog picks aren't out yet but Henry and Kamaru are ready to tell you who they see with their hand in the air Saturday night in Manchester. Arnold Allen vs. Giga Chikadze is a tale of great striker vs. a great kicker. Can Allen avoid (and survive) enough powerful body kicks from Giga and find the chin? We can count on a standup battle one way or another. Kamaru has high praise for Gregory Rodrigues' toughness... "you're gonna need a baseball bat and two friends..." but Henry notices a pattern in hometown fighters in England getting favorable matchups by the UFC. The guys have different predictions and equally terrible english accents. Sorry in advance. Does Paddy have the threshold to survive King Green - a fighter who was able to find 186/319 significant strikes in a decision win over veteran Jim Miller? Paddy has showed resilience against Tony Ferguson, but King Green poses a new challenge for the relatively new fighter in the UFC. Curtis Blaydes vs. Tom Aspinall hits close to home for Kamaru, a friend of Blaydes. Both men agree that Curtis will have to mix in his wrestling to find success, but Kamaru assures Henry that the striking game of Razor Blaydes is nothing to sleep on. On the flip side both Kamaru and Henry recognize Tom's ability as a heavyweight who has combo speed and consistent movement. It's a split decision for the guys. Leon Edwards vs. Belal Muhammad is another one that has the Pound 4 Pound studio torn. The freestyle fighter style of Belal has Henry reminiscing about Khabib, and both guys have equally technical, though differentiating reads on the Palestinian. Triple C has a feeling that the current mentality and inspiration of Belal makes him the favorable fighter, but if anyone has a credible read of Leon Edwards, it's Kamaru; and Nightmare is sensing that Rocky is going into the title defense confident and technically sound.Thank you to UnderDog Fantasy for sponsoring the show. UFC 297 was a card that happened. It wasn't a great card, really not even a good card. But it happened. The main event saw Dricus Du Plessis edges Sean Strickland over five rounds and take the UFC middleweight title. This sets up that long(ish)-awaited matchup with two time former champion Israel Adesanya. Dricus Du Plessis is the second fighter born in Africa to win a UFC title after Francis Ngannou. His run in the UFC has been meteoric. At 7-0, he is now the middleweight king. Who do you want to see Dricus Du Plessis to fight after UFC 297? Next on the card was Raquel Pennington's win over Myra Bueno Silva for the vacant women's bantamweight title. If there was a fight that encompassed UFC 297, this was it: a stinker. But at the end of the day, Raquel Pennington became champion and has big crosshairs on her back. Neil Magny also showed up in rare form at UFC 297. He took on Mike Malott, the surging up and comer, who really gave Magny a hard time. But the 29-11 experience came through as Neil Magny pounded out Mike Malott as time expired in the third round to win the fight via TKO. Chris Curtis, teammate of Sean Strickland, also returned. He took on Marc-Andre Barriault in a relatively fun fight. We talk about Curtis hitting the body and how I don't get why fans hate him. I find Chris Curtis to be quite an entertaining fighter. Speaking of entertaining, Movsar Evloev is not that. He defeated Arnold Allen via unanimous decision but it wasn't an exciting one. If it wasn't for Myra Bueno Silva and Raquel Pennington, this would have been stinker of the night. Regardless, Movsar Evloev snagged the win at UFC 297 and will now see a top five berth. Other fights we talk about are Sean Woodson beating Charles Jourdain, Gillian Robertson being awesome and knocking out Polyana Viana, and Jasmine Jasudavicius defeating number one cheater Priscila Cachoeira. What did you think about UFC 297? Is Dricus Du Plessis long as the middleweight champion? Will Ronda Rousey return to claim the title from Raquel Pennington?
At UFC 297, Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis battle for the UFC middleweight championship while Mayra Bueno Silva and Raquel Pennington fight for the bantamweight title. With Matt Serra out and about in Toronto during UFC 297 fight week, John Morgan tags along as a guest co-host for an episode of UFC Unfiltered that sees women's bantamweight Mayra Bueno Silva and featherweight Arnold Allen call in ahead of their fights on Saturday. Jim and John kick off the show by previewing this Saturday's highly-anticipated middleweight title fight main event between champion Sean Strickland and challenger Dricus Du Plessis. Then, Mayra Bueno Silva hops on the show ahead of her fight against 2nd-ranked women's bantamweight Raquel Pennington to iterate why she feels prepared to seize the vacant title on the line in Saturday's co-main event. When Mayra leaves, the guys discuss some other storylines on Saturday's card before ultimately bringing on Arnold Allen as the final guest caller of the show. Nine months removed from his loss to Max Holloway, Allen previews his fight against unbeaten Movsar Evloev in the pay-per-view opener, while also dishing out his thoughts on whether Alexander Volkanovski made a wise decision to quickly turn around for a fight at UFC 298 against Ilia Topuria. Finally, Jim and John end the show with a few predictions from the very top of Saturday's UFC 297 pay-per-view card.

Our first fights of the year have happened, and they did not disappoint! We have a great episode for you all, so let's get to it. We start things off talking about the amazing performance by Magomed Ankalaev and his knockout of Johnny Walker. With the win and performance, we were also prompted to really consider his position at the top of the division and if he is next for a title shot! Especially if Jamahal Hill isn't ready to go by the summer. After that, we move into some of the other standout fights on the card, including Jim Miller's big win, Mario Bautista impressing, and more. From there, we move into our picks and predictions for this year's first PPV, UFC 297, headlined by Sean Strickland vs. Dricus Du Plesis. We also pick the co-main, with Bueno Silva fighting Pennington and Arnold Allen against Movsar Evolev. Lastly, we move into the news, which included a bunch of fight announcements, including some fights for UFC 300, UFC 299, and some other fight nights. With some of the backlash over the booking of UFC 300, we also talk about whether the UFC is lacking star power. Like always, please be sure to like, comment, rate, and subscribe.
