That's the basics.Packaging needs to actually do more than just protect the product. It's about connecting with the environment, consumers, and the supply chain.Traceability has been primarily focused on the supply chain, but now it's being used for anti-theft, anti-diversion, and anti-counterfeiting.Having better visibility and traceability in your supply chain is the only way to mitigate risk and avoid costly recalls.Connected packaging is the next big thing, and it's here. The terrain wasn't fertile before, but now it's growing. There's a treasure of data that can be uncovered at a recycling facility to help our customers meet their ESG goals measurably.

Gina Carano is an actor and former mixed martial artist. Her fighting career rose to critical acclaim in the mid 2000's when she competed in Elite Xtreme Combat and Strikeforce, boasting a 7–1 record. After retiring from her fighting career, Carano took Hollywood by storm, landing roles in Fast & Furious 6, Deadpool, and Disney's The Mandalorian. Her time in the spotlight would be cut short when Lucasfilm announced in February 2021 that Carano would not appear in future Star Wars episodes following a series of controversial posts she made to social media. Despite enormous pressure and public scrutiny, Carano has stood firm by her beliefs and paved the way for a new career independent of Hollywood agendas. Send us a Text Message. This week on Fabulous Film & Friends we've jumped on that bandwagon and got a full fledged case of Deadpool-mania!That means we're going to discuss all three of Ryan Reynolds happy little R-rated capers which started in 2016 with Deadpool directed by Tim Miller, starring Ryan Reynolds, TJ Miller Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapicic, Ed Skrein, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni and Gina Carano. Then continued with 2018's Deadpool 2, directed by David Lietch and starring pretty much the same cast minus Skrein and Carano with the addition of Josh Brolin, Zazie Beets, Julian Dennison, and Rob Delaney. And capped off with the most marketed and hyped movie of my lifetime, 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine, directed by Shawn Levy and starring Mr. Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as well as a good portion of the previous supporting cast in cameos along with Matthew MacFadyen and Emma Corrin as villains. I'm Gino Caputi and my solitary guest today is author, hypnotherapist and comic book shop royalty Joe Field. I have to announce that Deadpool & Wolverine raked in 440 million over the July 26th 2024 weekend, the highest opening weekend box office haul for an R rated film ever. Was it Ryan Reynolds' and Hugh Jackman's over-the top marketing strategy of appearing on nearly every talk show and commercial for a month that helped or hurt its box office. Could it have been more if they hadn't seemed so transparently mercenary? Before we get into it, the synopses:Deadpool 1-3 are about Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool. the “Merc with a Mouth” a cynical 4th wall breaking character who makes scores of naughty puns while killing bad guys in over-the-top grotesque CGI enhanced ways. His powers are just like Wolverine's, he's unkillable because he heals and regenerates faster than it takes for his body's functions to shut down due to loss of blood. Or something like that. Today's show opens with the completion of the coup d'etat committed by high-level democrat operatives and the donor class. Joe Biden, in an attempt to put a positive spin on his withdrawal from the campaign, addressed the nation last night. It wasn't really live. It was meant to look live, so what we got was his best attempt after who knows how many takes. Outside of the many gaffes and reading errors, we still see the delusions of grandeur he believes is his presidential legacy. We then dissect a silly comment from David Axelrod. We also breakdown that Joe Biden was the first to call Kamala Harris a DEI hire, so I am going to continue calling her that. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez lamented in the NYTimes on July 19 that replacing Joe Biden would lead to ‘enormous peril.' I guess she really didn't mean it given two days later, after Kamala Harris received her coronation, said she was pledging her full support for a November victory. So much for her core values and consistency. We then continue to look at the obvious order for Legacy/mainstream media to begin scrubbing anything negative about Kamala Harris. It started with the Border Czar label and has now moved to addressing her ranking as the most liberal member of the Senate prior to joining Biden on the ticket in 2020. Even ultra-Leftist filmmaker Michael Moore recognized that. So, let's continue to educate the audience about Harris's background. She believes in the principle of equity, but not just in hiring, but in terms of economics. Everyone needs to end on the same place. This isn't surprising given her upbringing. She is, at her core, a Communist. From each according to their ability; to each according to their needs. The biggest story of the day relates to the Democrat donation clearing house ActBlue. Everyone needs to contact the State Attorneys General to open an investigation into what looks like money laundering to evade election laws. As we begin to wind down, voters on the streets of New York are hard pressed to come up with any accomplishment for VP Harris. It's rather embarrassing to know that while state-controlled media is removing her bad history, no one can recall anything she's done well. Finally, today was a big win for actress Gina Carano. A Biden appointed judge dismissed the attempt by Disney lawyers to have her wrongful termination suit thrown out of court. So, her case moves forward in the court system. This Day in Legal History: National Security Act of 1947On July 25, 1947, Congress passed the National Security Act of 1947, a landmark legislation that restructured the United States' military and intelligence operations in the post-World War II era. This pivotal act established the National Security Council (NSC), which would advise the President on security matters, and created the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to gather and analyze foreign intelligence. The Act also led to the formation of the Department of Defense, unifying the previously separate Department of War and Department of the Navy, and creating the National Military Establishment. This new establishment comprised three separate departments: the Army, the Navy, and the newly-formed United States Air Force. Additionally, the Joint Chiefs of Staff were established to ensure coordinated military strategy among the services. The National Security Act of 1947 fundamentally reshaped the U.S. defense and intelligence framework, reflecting the changing nature of global threats and the need for a cohesive national security strategy in the early Cold War period. This legislation laid the foundation for the modern American military and intelligence community, shaping U.S. defense policy for decades to come.Walt Disney Co. must face a lawsuit backed by Elon Musk over the firing of Gina Carano, a former star of “The Mandalorian.” A federal judge in Los Angeles, Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett, ruled against Disney's motion to dismiss the case, stating that Disney did not prove that employing Carano was an act of First Amendment-protected expressive association. The judge noted that Disney had not shown evidence that it hires actors to promote values like respect, decency, integrity, or inclusion. The case will explore California's protections for employees' political activities outside of work. Carano, a former mixed martial artist, argues she was dismissed due to her political views, which clashed with the show's audience on social media. The incident that led to her firing was a February 2021 Instagram post comparing the treatment of Trump supporters to that of Jews during the Holocaust. Carano claims her male co-stars were not disciplined for their liberal-leaning posts, even when they also referenced the Holocaust. Strained logic, but we live in a time of strained logic.Judge Garnett found that Carano sufficiently alleged her firing could have been to deflect criticism from Disney's business practices and reorganization under former CEO Bob Chapek. Schaer Jaffe LLP represents Carano, while O'Melveny and Myers LLP represents Disney, Lucasfilm, and Huckleberry Industries. The case is Carano v. Walt Disney, C.D. Cal., No. 24-cv-1009, 7/24/24.Disney Must Fight Musk-Backed ‘Mandalorian' Actor Firing SuitThe U.S. Senate is set to vote on two online safety bills targeting the protection of children and teens on social media. Scheduled for Thursday, these bills have garnered broad bipartisan support and are expected to pass. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer emphasized the importance of updating safety measures to address current online threats to children. The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) aims to mandate social media platforms to offer minors options to safeguard their information and deactivate addictive features by default. It also imposes a legal duty on companies to mitigate risks such as suicide and disordered eating among minors. The Children and Teens' Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA 2.0) proposes a ban on targeted advertising to minors and data collection without their consent. It also allows parents and children to delete their information from social media platforms. These bills represent the first significant legislative efforts to ensure online safety for children since the original COPPA was enacted in 1998. Tech companies like Microsoft and Snap have shown support for these initiatives, while Meta Platforms suggested that federal law should require app stores to seek parental approval for downloads by users under 16.US Senate set to vote on two child online safety bills | ReutersBoeing has finalized a guilty plea to a criminal fraud conspiracy charge and will pay at least $243.6 million for breaching a 2021 agreement with the U.S. Justice Department. This breach involved allowing potentially risky work at its factories and not ensuring accurate or complete airplane record keeping. Boeing admitted to conspiring to defraud the Federal Aviation Administration by making false representations about key software for the 737 MAX.The Justice Department found Boeing violated the deferred prosecution agreement after a January in-flight panel blowout on an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX exposed ongoing safety and quality issues. Additionally, Boeing disclosed false stamping at its 787 plant in South Carolina, leading to further investigations. The company also failed to ensure proper sequence in airplane manufacturing, increasing the risk of defects.By way of very brief background, "false stamping" refers to the practice of improperly marking or certifying parts or components as meeting required safety and quality standards when they do not. This fraudulent activity can involve the use of counterfeit certification stamps or documentation to falsely indicate that a part has passed necessary inspections and tests. Such actions undermine the integrity of the aircraft manufacturing process, potentially compromising the safety and reliability of the airplanes.Boeing agreed to pay a maximum fine of $487.2 million, with a credit for its previous $243.6 million payment, and will spend at least $455 million over the next three years to enhance safety and compliance programs. An independent monitor will oversee Boeing's compliance, with annual progress reports made public. Families of the 737 MAX crash victims can file objections before Judge Reed O'Connor, who will decide on accepting the deal and potential restitution. Boeing's board must also meet with the victims' families within four months of sentencing.Boeing finalizes 737 MAX guilty plea deal, US outlines reasons | ReutersUnited States v. The Boeing Company (4:21-cr-00005)The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is set to implement updates to its health data breach notification rule on July 29, which could lead to increased litigation for companies providing health-related services through mobile apps. These amendments, finalized in April, extend the rule's coverage to companies that aggregate health information from multiple sources, which are not currently governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).The rule mandates that businesses must notify affected individuals and the FTC within 60 days of discovering a breach affecting 500 or more people. Non-compliance could result in civil penalties of up to $51,744 per violation. The FTC's amendments broaden the rule's scope, potentially transforming it from a data security breach rule to a consent requirement for sharing health data.Legal experts have raised concerns about the FTC's lack of a precise definition for "authorized access," which could complicate compliance and lead to fines and litigation. Despite stakeholders' requests for clearer guidelines, the FTC only stated that unauthorized disclosures might include the sharing or selling of consumer information inconsistent with a company's stated policies. The expanded rule could cover around 170,000 additional entities, though industry groups believe this number may be higher. Many of these entities might need to develop robust notification programs, as the new requirements mark unfamiliar territory for some. The updated rule could also increase lawsuits against healthcare-related businesses for exposing user data to third-party advertisers. For example, enforcement actions against GoodRx and Easy Healthcare Corp. cited breaches due to sharing health information with advertisers via pixel tracking technology. The FTC's broad interpretation of "unauthorized access" has significant implications. If a company's privacy policy is not sufficiently descriptive regarding data collection and sharing, the FTC may consider it an unauthorized disclosure. This aggressive stance by the FTC necessitates careful attention from industry players. The rule also raises questions about who is responsible for reporting breaches concerning personal health records (PHR). Companies might struggle to determine whether they are acting as downstream service providers or PHR-related entities, complicating their compliance obligations.FTC Health Breach Rule's New Updates May Spur More Litigation This is a public episode. Piggybacking on last week's show, we dig a little deeper into those involved in the Vince McMahon allegations — specifically the fallout reaching former UFC and WWE champion, Brock Lesnar. Then, bad analogy creator, Gina Carano has returned — and this time, she's backed by Elon Musk. Ms. Carano has sued Disney, claiming she was fired from The Mandalorian due to her conservative political and social leanings. If you don't remember, this was sparked by a long string of controversial takes she shared on Instagram and Twitter, from anti-trans rhetoric to comparing being a conservative with being a Jew during the Holocaust. But is bad form on the internet enough to warrant her getting the ax? To go with that, why has Elon become yet another mouthpiece for some of the right's most extreme instigators? Trigger warning: if strong political opinions and human rights issues aren't your bag, we get it — feel free to skip to 1:02:35 (but for the record, this podcast stands with our lgbtq+ brothers, sisters, and others). Beyond that, the boys talk Disney's dip into gaming with the generous contribution they just gave Epic Games. Will this make for better games for Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Disney's animated IP? Or will having their precious eggs in one basket limit creative output? Actress Gina Carano announced on Twitter today that she is suing Disney over her firing from their Star Wars TV show, "The Mandalorian." The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (02/07/2024): 3:05pm The Senate's bipartisan border security/foreign aid bill failed to achieve the 60-vote threshold necessary to advance. The final vote was 49 to 50. Karoun Demirjian of The New York Times writes: “Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the majority leader, changes his vote to no, which is a strategic procedural move to make sure he can raise the measure again, not a sign that he has suddenly changed his mind about the substance of the bill.” She continues: “Four Republicans voted to advance the foreign aid measure that included border security provisions: Senators James Lankford of Oklahoma, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine and Mitt Romney of Utah. Four Democrats—Senators Alex Padilla of California, Bob Menendez of New Jersey, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Ed Markey of Massachusetts—voted against doing so, as did Senator Bernie Sanders, independent of Vermont.” You can read more here: https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/02/07/us/congress-ukraine-israel-aid/85a3b581-3ab8-527c-bb12-ee1ee4be6664?smid=url-share 3:20pm- While appearing on Fox News with Sean Hannity, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) blamed Republican leadership in the Senate for helping Democrats look good by agreeing to an ineffective border bill prior to clearing it with the Republican party members. 3:25pm- Speaking to the press, Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) explained why he vehemently opposes the Senate bipartisan border security/foreign aid bill. “The idea that we are committed to supporting whatever came out of this negotiation is pure, unadulterated bulls***. We supported a negotiation to bring common sense border security to this country—we did not agree to a fig leaf to send another $61 billion to Ukraine.” 3:40pm- On Tuesday, Nevada held its presidential primary. Despite basically running uncontested, Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley received fewer votes than the “None of These Candidates” option on the ballot. With 88% of the vote counted Haley trails 63% to 31%. On Thursday, the Nevada Republican Party will hold its presidential caucus which Donald Trump is expected to win—and, presumably, will receive the state's 26 delegates. The Nevada primary will award no delegates. 4:05pm- On Tuesday night, Republican leadership in the House of Representatives attempted to impeach Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas but failed. The final vote was 214-216. Four Republicans joined Democrats and voted “nay”— Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin, Ken Buck of Colorado, Blake Moore of Utah, and Tom McClintock of California. Though, Rep. Moore switched his vote for procedural reasons to help Republicans reintroduce the article of impeachment at a later date. Why did Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) hold the vote if he didn't have the numbers? Rep. Al Green (D-TX) had recently undergone abdominal surgery and rushed to the Capitol Hill from his hospital bed—arriving in hospital garb to vote. He was not expected to be in attendance. Republican leadership plans to hold another impeachment vote when House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), who is receiving treatment for cancer, is healthy enough to vote. 4:25pm- While speaking with the press, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) criticized pro-Palestine protesters advocating for a ceasefire, asking: “Why aren't you protesting to bring [the Israeli hostages] home right now? Why aren't you demanding that Hamas surrenders as well?” 4:30pm- According to a report from 6ABC, “two police officers were shot Wednesday afternoon when they responded to reports of a shooting at a home in East Lansdowne, Delaware County. Sources said an 11-year-old was shot inside the home in the unit block of Lewis Avenue. As soon as officers arrived, a person started shooting at them, sources told Action News. Two officers were hit and the suspect retreated into the home, sources said. A fire started at the home about 15 minutes after officers arrived. There were no additional shots fired, but sources said authorities fear the child and suspect may still be in the home.” You can find updates on this developing story here: https://6abc.com/east-lansdowne-house-fire-lewis-avenue-officers-shot/14396024/ 4:50pm- NBC's Chuck Todd accused conservative media of killing the Senate's bipartisan border security/foreign aid deal and of “gaslighting” the American people into believing it wasn't an effective bill. 5:05pm- While appearing on Fox News with Jesse Waters, actress Gina Carano said she is suing Disney for the “next generation” of actors and actresses who may wish to express their conservative political opinions publicly. Disney fired Carano, who at the time starred in the Star Wars series The Mandalorian, in 2021. 5:10pm- Congressman Jeff Van Drew— Representative for New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss yesterday's vote to impeach Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. Rep. Van Drew explains that as soon as House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) is healthy enough to return to Capitol Hill, Republican leadership will hold another impeachment vote. The Boston Herald reports that Kerry's 45-person staff has collectively received $4.3 million per year in taxpayer-funded salary. Turner explains: "For nearly three years, John Kerry has been jet-setting on the international climate conference circuit while sending taxpayers the bill. Today, we begin the process of teaching John Kerry and Joe Biden that they work for the taxpayers. No one should have to waste resources on litigation, but that is our only option since John Kerry thinks he can keep his office off the books. The American people are on the receiving end of countless green mandates and rules, gas stove bans and skyrocketing utility bills, with no opportunity for consent or input, and many of these decisions are hatched in John Kerry's office. That is why it is our hope that this litigation will finally bring to light the information we deserve to know: the staff names, the office goals and budgets, the outside partnerships that peddle influence on Joe Biden's green agenda." HUGE Disney news! Gina Carano is SUING Disney and Lucasfilm for wrongful termination off of "The Mandalorian" and SpaceDaddy Elon Musk is paying for it! This is another F-YOU to Bob Iger from the both of them! And the day before their Q1 earnings call on top of that! Grab some popcorn and buckle up, this is going to be a bumpy ride! ➡️ Tip Jar and Fan Support: http://ClownfishSupport.com ➡️ Official Merch Store: http://ShopClownfish.com ➡️ Official Website: http://ClownfishTV.com ➡️ Audio Edition: https://open.spotify.com/show/6qJc5C6OkQkaZnGCeuVOD1 ➡️ Gaming News: https://open.spotify.com/show/0A7VIqE3r5MQkFgL9nifNc Additional Context: Well, folks, the latest twist in the ongoing saga of Hollywood drama could very well be the juiciest yet! It seems like Gina Carano, the actress formerly known for her role as Cara Dune in the hit Disney+ series "The Mandalorian," is not taking her departure lying down. In a move that's got everyone's jaws on the floor, Carano is suing Disney and Lucasfilm for wrongful termination, and guess who's footing the bill? None other than the tech titan and real-life Tony Stark, Elon Musk! This lawsuit isn't just a legal battle; it's shaping up to be an epic showdown with layers of intrigue and personal vendettas. The timing is especially spicy, landing right on the eve of Disney's Q1 earnings call. Talk about strategic timing! This move has the potential to send shockwaves through the entertainment industry and financial markets alike. Carano's exit from "The Mandalorian" in early 2021 was met with a mix of controversy and support, stemming from a series of social media posts that many found controversial. Lucasfilm described her posts as "abhorrent and unacceptable," leading to her being dropped from the series. But now, with Musk's financial backing, Carano is hitting back, and it's clear this fight is about more than just a job—it's a statement. Elon Musk's involvement adds another layer of complexity to the narrative. Musk, known for his ventures into space with SpaceX and his revolutionary approach with Tesla, isn't shy about shaking up the status quo. By supporting Carano, Musk seems to be sending a clear message to Bob Iger and the Disney empire, marking another chapter in what could be seen as a personal crusade against established norms. As for Bob Iger, Disney's executive chairman, this lawsuit comes at a time when Disney is navigating the challenges of a post-pandemic world and aiming to solidify its streaming platform's success. The timing of this legal drama could not be more inconvenient for him and the Disney brand, adding an extra layer of tension to the already high-stakes environment. What does this all mean for the entertainment industry, you ask? Well, it's a clear indicator that the dynamics of power, public opinion, and personal branding are more intertwined than ever. With social media as the battleground and the court of public opinion in session 24/7, the outcome of this lawsuit could have far-reaching implications for how studios and public figures navigate their relationships going forward. So, pop that popcorn and fasten your seatbelts, pop culture aficionados. This legal battle between Gina Carano, Disney, and Lucasfilm, with Elon Musk in the mix, promises to be more dramatic than any season finale. Stay tuned for updates, because this story is far from over, and the implications could be monumental for everyone involved. Highlights from the Show Tanguy is a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, working in their Insurance practice, and co-leads their digital practice, which covers such important things as AI McKinsey is talking to insurers, car makers, regulators and others around the concept of mobility Current Auto insurance products were designed for an industry in decline, where combustion cars without sensors or data are being replaced by things that look similar, but are fundamentally different, which means the existing products aren't going to be fit for purpose We're at the early stages of that transition, but this is when carriers should be thinking about how to respond They see a world in the not-too-distant future where 30% of mobility will be ride-sharing, 50% of vehicles will be Evs, and that has profound impacts on Auto insurance As evidence of this, look at the very high take-up rate for Tesla Insurance where it's available The pace of change will be slower than some say given that the car fleet needs to change over to newer vehicles with new capabilities Distracted Driving is working against the improvements in loss reduction faster than safety tech can lower it, so losses are increasing despite more tools to combat them You will see more partnerships amongst those who succeed, while those less open to partnership will struggle When it comes to AI, Generative AI is not just a buzzword, but is a real disruptor that will have tremendous impact because it's about content creation, which AI has never been able to do before Generative AI can tackle the one thing robots or computers couldn't – empathy at a human level Given that delivering insurance service is a moment of empathy, that means GenAI can be profoundly impactful in insurance in a way that no other technology could be The technology and training the models isn't the hard part of this, but culture, change management and getting the data available cleanly in the cloud is the hard part The dynamics have and are changing so much that Tanguy observes that the industry seems to be losing relevance, as shown by declining rates of CAT losses covered by insurers, which has dropped over time He sees the solution being around the massive unlock of moving from protection to prevention, which changes the importance of what we do With the support of investors behind insurtechs working on solutions and carriers willing to collaborate, there is hope Interestingly, while there was fear that Big Tech was coming for Insurance, they are so critical to cloud-based solutions that they can also be part of this collaborative effort This episode is brought to you by The Future of Insurance book series (future-of-insurance.com) from Bryan Falchuk.
