Kadiru filled in for Gassiev's original opponent, 2016 French Olympic gold medalist Tony Yoka, but was outgunned. On episode 389 of The Neutral Corner boxing podcast, host Michael Montero gives his reaction to the entertaining fight between Jaron “Boots” Ennis and Xander Zayas in Brooklyn, New York. Boots stopped Zayas in seven rounds to claim two junior middleweight titles. In other news, heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk dumped his belts and announced he would have one more fight before retiring. WBC president Mauricio Sulaimán made a social media post that went viral, slamming the champion for his decision. Many American fans and media expressed discontent with Usyk as well.
