We had the pleasure of interviewing Russel Howard over Zoom video!  Best recognized as the Grammy Nominated & ASCAP Award-Winning Composer with the most placements on TV + Film to date. Now 19 years sober, he is a huge advocate in the recovery space, and will celebrate his 20-year-sobriety anniversary on March 29, 2021.As seen on Andy Cohen, Forbes, NY Times, Variety, Billboard and more, Howard has been highly decorated for his work that appears on MTV, ABC, and CNBC on shows like Keeping Up With the Kardashians and The Bachelorette, for his collaborations alongside Hollywood's most notable producers such as Scott Storch, and with celebrity musicians such as Jay-Z, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Miley Cyrus, DMX, Lupe Fiasco, Paris Hilton, Paul Wall, and more. As co-founder and head composer of Signature Tracks, Russell Howard has won five ASCAP Awards to date for being the composer who has the most placements on television and film to date.A true businessman, Howard spotted the need for quality music in television and decided to found Signature Tracks alongside childhood friends David Lasman and Adam Malka in 2008. The rest was history. Together, they produce track after track daily to keep up with the television and film industry's fast-moving demand, successfully cornering the market and taking over from all angles. Russell got his start being signed to Sony to produce Kobe Bryant's album, which included a song with Destiny's Child starring Beyoncé and a single with Tyra Banks. It was then that he struck the interest of Jay-Z, who decided to buy two tracks that landed on his album and made Russell a Grammy-nominated producer. From there, he signed a deal with Babyface Edmonds' label as an in-house producer. He went on to produce for DMX, Lupe Fiasco, Paris Hilton, Paul Wall, Seal, and so many more…When not working in the studio, Howard enjoys spending time working out. Now 19 years sober, he is a huge advocate in the recovery space and will celebrate his 20 year sobriety anniversary on March 29, 2021. He resides in the OC, with his son. We want to hear from you! Classic, soulful melodies slide effortlessly alongside hip-hop rhythms and smooth percussions, as Trevor Wesley brings a refreshing sense of artistry and true talent to the music scene. Born and raised in Los Angeles, this Southern California native first began his musical journey at the age of five: sitting at the piano trying to match the sounds of the black and white keys to the pitch of his mother’s vacuum. The son of one of Hollywood’s top camera operators, Trevor’s early aspirations where that of a young actor, however the natural pull of music proved too strong to fight. Growing up in a family that listened to the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Eric Clapton, The Beatles and more, TREVOR was already familiar with timeless creativity. For him, it was a case of blending these legacies into a more modern sound that reflected his true artistic talent and unique personality. In 2011, Trevor delivered his first musical statement - the self-produced Only Live Once EP. It was hailed by critics and record executives as sonically pure, filled with impeccable R&B and jazz influences. Skits, beautifully written songs, and even a cameo appearance in his promo video by the original gangster, Al Pacino, made TREVOR WESLEY stand apart from the crowd. In the words of the great Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds “This kid is the truth!” In the past few years, Trevor has written, produced, and performed with the likes of NE-YO, Stevie Wonder, Joe Jonas, Wale, 98 Degrees, Patti LaBelle, and Dion Warwick. His music has also been featured in The Best Man Holiday and the BET show, Being Mary Jane. In releasing his 1st full-length album, the LP’s lead single and title track, Chivalry Is Dead, has been streamed over 50 million times online and has provided a great platform to introduce his brand and artistry to the world. From his gorgeous vocals to the tipped Fedora, TREVOR WESLEY is new-school cool meets old-school classic. Refreshingly unadulterated, his smooth tones combined with fresh synths and a contagious smile defines the brand that is Trevor Wesley. Karyn Layvonne White (born October 14, 1965) is an American singer who was popular during the late 1980s and early 1990s. She is known for several hit singles including "Superwoman" (1988), "Secret Rendezvous" (1989), "The Way You Love Me" (1988), and the US Hot 100 number one single "Romantic" (1991). White's self-titled debut album Karyn White was released in 1988. It was produced by L.A. Reid and Babyface and achieved platinum status in the US. The album contained the Hot 100 hit singles "The Way You Love Me", "Secret Rendezvous", and "Superwoman" as well as the #1 R&B hit "Love Saw It", a duet with Babyface. White was nominated in the Best R&B/Urban Contemporary New Artist category for the 1989 Soul Train Music Awards which was won by Al B. Sure. She was also received nominations for two Grammy Awards. She became the first female artist to have the first three solo releases from their debut album hit #1 on the R&B charts. Her follow-up album was Ritual of Love in 1991. It had songs produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and featured the hit single "Romantic", which hit number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Other singles from the album include "The Way I Feel About You" (U.S. #12), "Walkin' the Dog," and "Do Unto Me" (the last two did not chart). The photographer and director Matthew Rolston directed the video for the hit single "Romantic". Michael Walls, who was credited as stylist on Ritual of Love, worked with White on the look for the Ritual of Love album sleeve, and three of the music videos released for the album. Walls had the idea for the Chanel inspired pearls and black dress used on the album cover, the french maid look and multiple wardrobe changes for video of "The Way I Feel About You", and the "Walkin' the Dog" video, which was based on a scene from the film Sweet Charity. Her next album was Make Him Do Right in 1994. The album did not sell well, although she did chart with the singles "Hungah" and the Babyface-penned "Can I Stay With You", which became her final U.S. R&B Top 10 hit in early 1995. "I'd Rather Be Alone", her last chart single to date, peaked at #50 on the same chart later that year.White left Warner Bros. Records in 1999, and dropped out of the music public eye for many years to start a family. In 2006, she recorded a new album, titled Sista Sista; which was slated for release in 2006, but was shelved. Two tracks, "All I Do" and "Disconnected", were later released on the best ofcompilation album, Superwoman: The Best of Karyn White. She was also slated to appear on the Soul Train Music Awards in 2009 as a tribute to Babyface Edmonds. However, this performance was canceled when Edmonds and Reid withdrew from the Soul Train ceremony, declining the honor. In 2011, she was slated to have shot a pilot for a reality series with R&B singers Shaniceand Debelah Morgan.White released her first album after a seventeen-year break, Carpe Diem, in March 2012.[1] The album featured the singles "Sista, Sista" and "Unbreakable" both of which received music videos. In 2017, White landed a recurring role on the BET Centric television series "Beauty and the Baller" as trophy wife Kym Banks.[2][3] She also returned with new music and her first feature film role, in Gale and the Storm directed by Derrick Muhammad.[4] The soundtrack for the film was released on September 4th and included her latest single "Blind Man Walking."[5][6] The film made its premiere on October 12, 2017.She earned a 2017 UB Honors nomination for Gale and the Storm soundtrack in the "Best Independent R&B Album Release" category See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The Deele - Material Thangz (Petko Turner Edit) The Deele was formed in 1981 and originally comprised local Cincinnati musicians drummer Antonio "L.A." Reid, bassist Kevin "Kayo" Roberson, vocalist/percussionist Darnell "Dee" Bristol, lead vocalist Carlos "Satin" Greene, guitarist/keyboardist Stanley "Stick" Burke, and guitarist Steve "Tuck" Walters. Reid, Roberson, and Walters had been members of a previous Cincinnati-based band, Pure Essence. Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, hailing from Indianapolis, would join later in 1981, and Walters left the band before they began recording their debut album, Street Beat. The group would record three albums in total during the 1980s, scoring scored several hit singles. The above-mentioned Street Beat album was released in 1983, and the following year, a single from this album, "Body Talk" became The Deele's first hit, reaching #3 on the R&B chart and #77 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop chart. Burke left the band prior to the recording of a follow-up album. Recorded as a quintet, Material Thangz was released in 1985. It was not as successful as their debut album. Following a brief hiatus, during which Babyface recorded his debut solo album, Lovers, the band regrouped to record. They reached the apex of their career in 1987 with the release of their third album, Eyes of a Stranger, which produced two top-10 R&B singles: "Shoot 'Em Up Movies" and perhaps their best-known song, "Two Occasions." The latter track reached #4 on the R&B charts and cracked the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. Music videos were made for both songs. The video for the "Shoot 'Em Up Movies" track was directed by Martin Pitts and produced by Mickey Shapiro. It was during this time that L.A. Reid and Babyface Edmonds began crafting their talents as songwriters for other artists. They wrote and produced "Girlfriend" (which featured backing vocals from Deele members[1] and became a top ten hit) for Reid's girlfriend, and eventual wife Pebbles. During this period, they also wrote and produced The Whispers' "Rock Steady." In 1988, encouraged by their songwriting success with other artists, both Babyface and Reid left The Deele and founded LaFace Records in 1989. At the beginning of the 1990s, Reid and Edmonds would become successful record producers. Although not as recognized as Reid and Edmonds, another Deele member, Kevin "Kayo" Roberson maintained his association with the two, and was an instrumental part of the production team's success behind the scenes as a songwriter, co-producer, and studio bassist.[2] Babyface would also embark on a very successful run as a solo artist. In 1993, Greene and Bristol reunited again as The Deele (without Reid, Edmonds, or Roberson)[3] to record the album, An Invitation to Love. This album found the group adopting a more new jack swing-based sound and incorporating rap into many of their songs. Failing to make a dent in the charts, the group called it quits later that same year. Their hit song "Two Occasions" was referenced by rapper The Game in the song "One Night" in 2006, and by Plies in his 2009 hit song, "Want It, Need It" featuring Ashanti. MF Doom samples the track "Shoot 'Em Up Movies" in his 1999 opus "Red & Gold". Download for free on The Artist Union
