Gabrielle Union once had a bucket list of "fun boys," 50 Cent gets stung by Lil Kim aka the 'Queen Bee,' and you'll never believe which rapper said he'd never talk to Kanye West again if he wasn't on 'Donda!' Amanda Salas is co-hosting with us and we're dishin' it ALL, so tune in to today's Dish Nation for the tea! ☕️
Well, if there is one word that sums up this particular interview on the Old Man & the Three, it's “real”. As in, keeping it real. And the person behind that word is the one and only Gabrielle Union - the superstar actress, best-selling author, and wife and partner of Dwyane Wade. In this raw, brutally honest and often times hilarious conversation, she lays it on the line and doles out some truths on several topics, including what it's like being a black actress in Hollywood, how her acting career got started, why she decided to write her books, how emptying her “fucks” basket changed her life, and much more. Plus, she talks about her new book “Got Anything Stronger?”, which is a follow up to her best-selling initial release “We're Going to Need More Wine”. It's a spectacular discussion that you do not want to miss. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Talking to Queen Gabrielle Union - let's just call this her coronation - is like stepping into an incubator of empowerment - so get ready for this epic new episode of Reign with Josh Smith. Like me, I'm sure many of you will have first fallen in love with Gabrielle when she played the cheerleader Isis in Bring It On. I said, ‘brr... It's cold in here! There must be some Clovers in the at-mos-phere!' She then went on to star in the likes of Bad Boys II, Being Mary Jane, and LA's Finest. But it's for her work off-screen - particularly speaking out about violence against women - that saw TIME Magazine name Gabrielle as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the world. And it's her honesty about everything from fertility struggles to her relationship with her basketballer husband, Dwyane Wade in her two memoirs and to her 19 million Instagram followers, that has made Gabrielle a role model for the power of honesty and open conversations - something this podcast is all about. As Gabrielle releases her second memoir, Have You Got Anything Stronger (I couldn't recommend it more and EVERYONE I know is getting it for Christmas) she opens up about raising her transgender daughter Zaya, what led to her finally being honest with others and herself, the lessons she has learnt from therapy, and the sexism and racism she faced when starting her fertility journey at 44. Plus Gabrielle opens up about doing right by her character, Isis in the Bring It On sequel which she is currently working on - SCREAMING!!!! So get ready for some real tea! I found talking to Gabrielle with my jaw wide open at her honesty so I hope her words make you feel less alone, whether you are struggling with fertility or just trying to be a little more honest with yourself and your friends. I really hope you continue to listen and find the power to Reign in your own lives, too. Until next time, WEAR THOSE CROWNS WITH PRIDE and get in touch (follow me across social media @joshsmithhosts), I love hearing from you. Love, Josh xxxP.S I am so proud that this episode of Reign with Josh Smith is brought to you thanks to my friends at Pandora because their new collection, Pandora Me, is all about embracing who you are and celebrating self expression - just like this podcast! Angela Sutherland is the Co-Founder and CEO of Yumi, a fresh, organic, and nutritious baby food delivery service. After many years working in private equity, Angela never imagined she'd one day be an entrepreneur and start a baby food company. When she became pregnant with her first child, she became hyper-aware of the importance of nutrition in a child's first 1,000 days of life. She realized most baby food offerings in grocery stores are low in nutrition and incredibly high in sugar. So, this made her think: what options do new working parents have to ensure their child gets proper nutrition without the hassle and clean-up of making every meal? The opportunity was clear. This led Angela to dive deep into research and discuss the problem with her longtime friend, Evelyn Rusli - and within weeks, they both decided to quit their jobs and create Yumi.It only took one and a half months to launch Yumi's first beta which was a massive success. They've raised over $30 million to date and are available nationally while also having a cult following with celebrities like Jessica Alba, Gabrielle Union, and Molly Sims to name a few. We'll talk to Angela about the importance of taking a leap of faith when it comes to entrepreneurship, the power of community and brand when building your business, lessons learned when it comes to fundraising, and so much more. This episode is brought to you by beeya: * If you or anyone you know have been struggling with hormonal imbalances and bad periods, go to https://beeyawellness.com/free to download the free guide to tackling hormonal imbalances and to learn more about beeya's seed cycling bundle. * Plus, get $10 off your order by using promo code BEHINDHEREMPIREFollow Angela:* Yumi Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/yumi/* Website: https://helloyumi.com/Follow Yasmin:* Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/yasminknouri/* Stay updated & subscribe to our newsletter: https://www.behindherempire.com/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

HOOOWDDYYY fashion insider friends! So - if our #NYFW Episode last week was not enough fashion for you - get yourself ready for the Fashion Crimes Podcast 2021 #MetGala Review! This week, Holly and Nolan have QUITE a bit to say about “Fashion's Biggest Night Out.” Every year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC hosts a themed fundraising gala. This year's theme was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” – whatever that means. Apparently, we aren't the only ones wondering WTH, as it seems like most whom arrived on the famous white Met staircase had no idea either - or at least - didn't bother to help us minions to understand their choice of outfit. RUDE! Excuse me....we need to know these things. So, instead, Holly and Nolan pick their Favs and Flops, adding plenty of insightful details and sidebar commentary. Lots of sidebar commentary. Duh. Holly loves J Lo in full her Ralph Lauren western, and Winnie Harlow and Gabrielle Union, both in Iris Van Herpen. Nolan drools over Shawn Mendez (with no shirt, again!). Would not kick him out of bed for eating crackers. I meaann. Let's be honest. But of course, Nolan does not mince words regarding Kristen Stewart in Chanel, Kendall Jenner in Givenchy (although he begrudgingly agrees that she did look the best she has ever looked at this Gala), and poor AOC with her “Tax the Rich” gown designed by Brother Vellies. Next time, AOC, ask Nolan first. I mean, right?!?! Oh! And Madonna's daughter Lourdes was dressed as a belly dancer – hairy arm pits and all! EW! I mean is that really necessary. And, we're sorry, but WTAF with Frank Ocean and his Prada x Homer green baby, Kim K. in her blackout bat suit and Justin Bieber in La Maison Drew? We are sure there are stories behind some of the weirder style choices, but frankly, we aren't sure we care. We do care, however, that this is basically the BEST TIME OF THE FASHION YEAR DOT COM, and love, love, love how much of a fashion feast we have had for the past 2 weeks. There were beauties, there were beasts, and then there was Nolan at a swanky, VVIP Met Gala after-party! He got all glammed up and enjoyed rubbing elbows with celebs, models and fashion editors - and partaking in lots and lots of sponsored spirits. All Holly cares about is the swag bag, and what she will be able to convince Nolan to part with. #truth It's been a long two weeks of fashion reporting, and frankly, our asses are fried. But hey, someone's gotta give their unwanted opinions. It might as well be us! OMG you're welcome. We are the two best fashion friends you never knew you needed. Reporting live from the 2021 Met Gala, I mean how lucky are you right now. #justsayin LINKS DISCUSSED: Met Gala Red Carpet Looks: https://www.vogue.com/slideshow/met-gala-2021-red-carpet-live-celebrity-fashion #MetInAmerica #AmericanDesigners #hollykatzstyling #stylebynolan #personalstylist #fashionpodcast #fashioncrimes #whoworeitbest #whoworewhat #whoworeitworst #metmuseum #celebritystyle #celebrityfashion #celebritydress #eveningdress #eveninggowns #hautecouture #exclusivedesign #iheartradio #spotify #applepodcasts #podcastersofinstagram #podcast

Don't forget to subscribe to the show! /// I was recently inspired by Gabrielle Union's haircut post where she talked about normalizing change that doesn't have to be the result of pain or negativity. I know many women who cut their hair off after a break up. Or go through a massive glow up. Nothing wrong with it. But you don't need trauma or pain as an excuse to change your life. I feel like it's much more difficult to find the motivation or consistency to see the change through when you are in a good place. This episode speaks to the fact that complacency or contentment can often be an excuse for ignoring the nagging calling we're receiving to level up our lives. We can easily convince ourselves that our prior goals or ambitions are no longer needed to satisfy us. While there may be some level of truth to that, it doesn't change the fact that the calling will always be with you. Waiting to be answered. /// If you like the episode/show, don't forget to rate & review! /// @neshavfrazier on Linkedin and IG

Acting is an art that is learned through experience and good teachers. The art of acting is a representation of humanity. Often those outside 'Hollywood' and the stage overlook the complexity of what makes a great actor. That's where Michelle Danner comes in. She is one of the leading acting coaches helping the 'A-list' of actors from the stage to the TV Shows and Movies we watch. As a teacher, she co-founded the Los Angeles Acting Conservatory and the Edgar Center for the Arts. Her students have included Christian Slater, Salma Hayek, Gerard Butler, Seth MacFarlane, Gabrielle Union, Zooey Deschanel, James Franco, and Chris Martin.Beyond teaching the next generation of leading actors, Michelle is also creating and directing her own movies. She can often be found at leading film festivals around the world. Her new film 'The Runner' premiered at the Conquest Film Festival in March. What makes this movie special is while it was filmed prior to Covid, all the editing and final production were finished after the lockdowns of the pandemics. In today's show we talk about what it was like growing up in the world of European Cinema, teaching actors, creating and directing movies, The Golden Box of Acting, the world of film festivals, and some personal stories of working with the leading actors and actresses in the world.Michelle's LinksWebsite: https://www.michelledanner.comThe Runner: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5886520/
