Petty dictator Trump whined about being called chicken. Fox drunkard Jeanine Pirro was named the DC prosecutor by our felonious rapist-in-chief. Apartheid Elmo, aka Elon, leaves the White House after pillaging the government for data. A spaceship built by Herr Musk spun out of control because it's a day ending "y."  Friend of the late diddler Jeffrey Epstein, Trump blathered nonsense about a golden dome and Canada. Folks from overseas aren't coming here anymore. Trumpkin podcaster Joe Rogan gave it up for Jesus on his stupid podcast. A Democrat congressperson might win the governorship in Virginia. A MAGAT bought a not-so-special edition watch with an obvious defect for his wife. Canoers in Kissimmee suffered a deadly attack by a gator.

We are so back! Total Quality Logistics (TQL), the nation's second-largest freight broker, is under fire in a new federal lawsuit filed on Feb. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.Pink Cheetah Express LLC, a small Kissimmee, Florida-based motor carrier, alleges that TQL has flouted a 2023 Department of Transportation order mandating compliance with federal broker transparency rules. The suit, which seeks declaratory and injunctive relief, reignites a long-simmering debate over rate transparency in the trucking industry – just as freight markets brace for new tariffs. The complaint centers on TQL's alleged refusal to provide Pink Cheetah with transactional records for 15 loads hauled over the past three years, despite a Nov. 30, 2023, order from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. That order, issued after an investigation sparked by Pink Cheetah's 2023 complaint, directed TQL to ditch contract language waiving carriers' rights under 49 CFR 371.3 – a regulation guaranteeing carriers access to broker records – and to comply with future transparency requests. Pink Cheetah claims TQL has done neither, accusing the Cincinnati-based brokerage of “arrogantly” acting “above the law.”What does TQL say? We have their answer! This program is brought to you by DAT Freight & Analytics. Since 1978, DAT has helped truckers & brokers discover more available loads. Episode #144 of The Shallow End is chock full of vitamins and other nutrients!  (Okay. It's not. But it is entertaining as hell.) Lindsay's story comes to us from Kissimmee, FL, where a young woman and her boyfriend decided to celebrate the man's birthday at a local motel by ordering a pizza delivered to their room. Everything was going swimmingly – until the police were called. Find out why! (Note: It involves drivers who will stop at nothing to drive home their opinions on the importance of gratuity.) Then Jethro takes us to the mountains above Tucson, AZ, where a gentleman was enjoying the sweeping views of the city before a late monsoon rain blew in to wash away the summer heat. What an unfortunate time to have to answer nature's call. No worries!  When you're a male, the whole Earth is your bathroom! (Shame about the timing of that lighting strike!) Episode 135 Doe ID: Maria Telles-Gonzalez   On May 24, 1995, the partially nude body of an unidentified woman was found by a highway worker in a drainage ditch on Cottonhall Road in Yemassee, South Carolina. Authorities believed that the woman, who was Hispanic, had been strangled to death. Police didn't have much to go on, but they scoured missing persons cases across SC and nearby states looking for a victim who might fit the description of their Jane Doe, but they could not find one. They theorized that she had been driven quite some distance before her remains were discarded. With no leads to go on her case went cold. In 2020, officials turned to the victim's DNA for help, and began the process of identifying her through genealogy. They hit pay dirt in 2022. The Yemassee Jane Doe was actually Maria Telles-Gonzalez, a 36 yr old woman who vanished from Kissimmee, Florida in May, 1995 after returning from a trip to Puerto Rico. She was last seen by her husband and children in the weeks before her body was found, but she wasn't reported missing. Due to the fact she wasn't reported missing, and a lack of complete cooperation from her husband, police consider him a person of interest. Police also want to ID a male associate of Maria's who may have been in a relationship with her. They don't know much about him other than he was Hispanic, and his name was Carlos. He stands about 5-foot-8 or 5-foot-10, speaks Spanish and English very well. He may be living in the Orlando or Kissimmee area, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Now police are working to find out who murdered Maria and dumped her body. Anyone with information about Maria Telles-Gonzalez's disappearance and murder is urged to contact cold case investigator Bob Bromage at 843-816-8013 or by email at robertb@bcgov.net Maria Telles-Gonzalez now has her name back, and this is her story.  To listen to every episode of DNA: ID ad-free and get other benefits, simply  visit our channel page on Apple Podcasts to get started with an AbJack Insider subscription. Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez has been added to the Brady List by Andrew Bain, former Orange-Osceola state attorney, following conflicting statements Lopez made about a crime scene photo in the case of 13-year-old Madeline Soto. The Brady List is a tool used to notify legal parties when a witness's credibility or truthfulness may be in doubt, potentially affecting court proceedings. In a December 30 letter, Bain informed Lopez of his inclusion on the list due to inconsistent explanations about a photo of Soto's body that was mistakenly posted on social media. The move could have significant implications for the death penalty case against Stephen Sterns, accused of Soto's murder, where Lopez is listed as a witness. The controversy began in July 2024 when Bain warned Lopez that he might be added to the Brady List. Lopez initially told Kissimmee's police chief and the public that the photo was posted by mistake, issuing an apology. However, during a radio interview with WDBO, Lopez stated, “As to the photo, there was an apology issued but it wasn't actually the body, it was an area of interest where there was a body found. No one ever came out directly and said it was the victim.” Days later, in a sworn interview with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Lopez acknowledged having the photo sent to his phone to compare the clothing on the body with what Soto was last seen wearing. Bain flagged these discrepancies as problematic for Lopez's credibility. In the December letter, Bain also criticized an internal memorandum from the Osceola Sheriff's Office that exonerated Lopez, stating it lacked objectivity and bypassed formal investigative protocols. “Adopting the reading the Memo does in this case suggests the Osceola Sheriff's Office does not care if an employee or member is truthful when answering questions outside the chain of command or, say, to the media. I cannot believe that is the case,” Bain wrote. Bain further argued that Lopez's statement to WDBO appeared to downplay the incident and shift blame. He wrote, “To be clear, the concerning statement in your interview is your assertion that ‘[n]o one ever came out directly and said it [the photograph] was the victim.' When viewed in this proper context, it is hard to read your immediate answer as anything but an attempt to claim the photo you posted was not the victim in an attempt to lessen your public responsibility for a violation of Florida public records laws.” In addition to being added to the Brady List, Lopez was fined $250 last month for violating Florida's public records laws in connection with the photo's disclosure. Bain emphasized that the conflicting statements could be used to impeach Lopez's credibility as a witness in Sterns' trial. The Osceola County Sheriff's Office responded to Bain's decision with a statement: “The Sheriff's Office completely disagrees with Andrew Bain's decision. The perspectives mentioned in his letter have no merit, and the Sheriff will be appealing his decision. No other statement is available at this time.” The Brady List designation places added scrutiny on Lopez and his role in the high-profile case. The decision also underscores ongoing concerns about accountability and transparency within law enforcement as Soto's family seeks justice. #BradyList #AndrewBain #MarcosLopez #MadelineSoto #OsceolaSheriff #PublicRecords #FloridaLaw Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? New details have emerged in the case of Stephan Sterns, accused of murdering 13-year-old Madeline "Maddie" Soto. A recent interview with a female roommate, who shared the house with Maddie and her mother Jenn Soto, sheds light on Sterns' odd behavior in the days leading up to Maddie's disappearance, according to audio obtained by FOX 35. The roommate described the relationship between Maddie and Sterns as a close "father-daughter" connection, although Sterns was not biologically related to her. He was the boyfriend of Maddie's mother, Jenn Soto, and occasionally stayed at their residence in Kissimmee. Despite their close bond, the roommate said she noticed Sterns acting unusually in the days before Maddie went missing. According to the woman, she remembered hearing strange noises from Sterns' room one evening. “The noise lasted until at least I fell asleep,” she recalled during the interview. She also noted that Sterns had taken to doing laundry—a rare occurrence, she observed—and was seen with various power tools, including a hammer, for a project he didn't disclose to anyone. "She noticed something odd about him because of the way he was moving around the house," the woman explained in Spanish, which was later translated by an interpreter. She mentioned that Jenn Soto had questioned Sterns about the tools, but he offered only vague responses, stating he was working on an unspecified project. Kissimmee police have since revealed even more disturbing details as part of the investigation. Detectives informed the woman during their interview that nude photographs of her were found on Sterns' phone. Authorities allege that Sterns used a hidden camera beneath the woman's bedroom door to capture these images without her knowledge. She was asked to verify the photos, and after some hesitation, she reportedly confirmed their authenticity. "I take that as a ‘yes,'” one detective remarked after she paused, seemingly stunned by the revelation. The woman admitted that the discovery of these photos fundamentally changed her perception of Sterns. "Prior to seeing these photos, she couldn't believe he could do something or hurt Maddie. Now, seeing these photos—yeah, he's capable of anything, obviously," the detective translated, summarizing her reaction. Despite these findings, authorities have yet to file additional charges against Sterns related to the unauthorized photos of the roommate. Whether charges will be added for this alleged invasion of privacy remains unclear. Meanwhile, in newly released footage, detectives can be seen questioning both Maddie's mother, Jenn Soto, and Sterns. While Jenn Soto defended Sterns at times during her interrogation, detectives expressed doubts that he acted alone. They were particularly skeptical after showing her photographs that allegedly captured abuse inflicted on her daughter. Stephan Sterns has been formally charged with first-degree murder in connection with Maddie Soto's death. He also faces 60 counts related to sex abuse, following the discovery of explicit images of Maddie in a Google Drive linked to his cell phone. Sterns has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Kissimmee, Florida is right in the middle of some of Florida's most exciting tourist attractions. So, it's usually associated with happy times. But in February of 1998 the headlines were about tragedy in Kissimmee; 38 people killed in the deadliest tornado outbreak in the state's history up to that time. In its lead front page story, USA Today told about one couple who cowered in horror. And it said, "The wind sucked like a vacuum cleaner, pulling their five-year-old daughter, Elissa, away. Her Dad said, 'She was horizontal, and my wife was holding onto her legs. There was all this glass and everything started to disappear, all the furniture, and the insides of the walls. If my wife had let go of Elissa, we wouldn't have been able to find her." USA Today said, "But Judy's grip held. And in a few moments, the tornado had passed and Elissa was safe in her arms." Wow! I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Holding Onto Your Child In The Storm." If you're a parent, you may know that feeling because there are unusually stormy times right now in which to raise a son or daughter. And sometimes you feel like all that's swirling around them threatens to take them away. There may be days when you feel like you're hanging on for dear life. Our word for today from the Word of God, though it isn't addressed specifically to parents, is a great parent scripture. 2 Timothy 1:7 says this, "God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline." God doesn't want your parent-heart to be a fearful heart. In fact, He has made this strong promise to parents in Isaiah 54:13, "All your children will be taught of the Lord; and great will be the peace of your children." You can keep your child from being torn away by the storm. Take time to casually debrief each day with them; helping them interpret what they have experienced that day. Give them boundaries, but with positive reasons - not just boundaries. Focus on today - not the problems of yesterday or the prospects of tomorrow. Make your home an island of sanity in an otherwise insane world, where when they close that door, they know they're safe, not on another battlefield. And each new day, give that child back to the God who gave you that child in the first place. The ultimate secret of holding onto your child in the storm is - in a sense - letting go of your child. After the writer talks about having a spirit of power and love instead of a spirit of fear, he tells how that's possible with so much at stake. Speaking of his personal relationship with Jesus he says, "I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that He is able to guard what (or who) I have entrusted to Him" (2 Timothy 1:12). There is a relationship that provides a life-anchor - for anyone, but especially for parents raising children in stormy times. If you have begun that personal love-relationship with Jesus, you can commit your precious child to Him and He'll hang onto them as you never could. But first Jesus has to be hanging onto you. There is nothing like being a parent to make you aware of your need for help, for the power to change, of your limitations, your need for forgiveness and for inner healing. And Jesus is a Mom's Savior, a Dad's Savior. He died on the cross to pay for all the sinning you and I have ever done, to tear down the wall between God and us and to open up all of God's love and power to you as a Mom or Dad. If you've never put your personal trust in Jesus Christ to be your Savior, don't wait another day for your sake; for the sake of the child you love. Our website is there to help you get this settled. It's ANewStory.com. In a world that is so dangerous and confusing, it isn't easy to keep your child from being taken away by the storm. But you can hang onto your son or daughter if you have the Son of God hanging onto you.
