But because this is America, the Fourth of July was marked by violence. Because Dan knows Highland Park well, this week's discussion turned to hometowns, living in America, and what comes after. Also, no one likes fireworks, right? This one's about taking good care of yourself and each other, SayWhovia. Who Not How – The Formula To Achieve Bigger Goals Through Accelerating Teamwork

Do you have a list a mile long of stuff you NEED to get done but you keep procrastinating? Your business and personal growth may DEPEND on you checking off those important things on the list but still… you can’t seem to get them done. We ALL struggle with procrastination... but why? And how do you get past it so you can move forward and grow? Today we talk about Dan's latest book with Dr. Benjamin Hardy, “Who Not How.” The subtitle of the book is, “The formula to achieve bigger goals through accelerating teamwork,” and it's a big idea that will completely change the way you think about getting things done. The idea comes from a comment that Dean Jackson made during a podcast that he and Dan were doing about why people procrastinate. We have goals, we have a vision of who we can be in the future and we’re very excited about that vision but then we stop moving forward. But WHY? The reason is that you ask yourself, how can I accomplish this goal? This question brings up a weird response because if we had the ability to actually accomplish the goal, we would have accomplished it already. By the very nature of having a bigger and better goal, we’re going into territory where we probably don't have all the capabilities we need. So instead of saying, “how can I accomplish this goal,” you be should saying, “who can accomplish this with me or who can accomplish it for me.” You need to untrain youself from the natural way of thinking that you have to do all the steps to get to the goal and start thinking about who around you can help. The WHY of the concept was so interesting that Dan turned it into a book. The making of the book is a perfect example of his concept. Because Dan knows his strength is in the “ideas,” he brought together a team to bring the book together. Contributors, writers, book strategists, and deal negotiators all did their part and a new book was born. It’s something Dan has been doing for the last 30-40 years of his career and the reason he publishes 4 books a year and NEVER suffers from procrastination. To learn more about how to win the battle against procrastination and achieve bigger goals by building and using teams, listen to this episode right now then go grab your copy of Dan’s new book, “Who Not How” here! After you listen to the interview, leave us a message and let us know what you think of this episode OR ask a question you’d like Dan or Mike to answer in an upcoming episode!

Jingle, jingle, SaysWhovia! Dan and Maureen had a few issues getting the recording done this week. Dan threw a pair of scissors, then the internet broke, like, twenty times. So our friends are not as well as they might be. But it’s all fine, for this is the season of glad tidings and joy. That is what Maureen is here to remind Dan. Dan has other things to remind Maureen. He wants her to know, for example, that Rudy’s son has a job at the White House as a sports consultant or something. And that Trump needs glasses. But mostly he wants to tell her about the impeachment proceedings, and how they are going. In the last few weeks,  twelve witnesses  testified. Twelve! Like the days of Christmas! And if Maureen had more juice in her caboose right now, she might even try to write lyrics for the Twelve Days of Christmas with the witness names pinged in, but she does not, SaysWhovia. Because Dan told her more things. He told her how he thinks things are going as we careen toward the end of the year and this phase of the proceedings and towards 2020 and the Senate and the election and……well, it’s all fine, SaysWhovia. Register your interest in Serviced Accommodation Discovery Day here, and a member of our team will get back to you to confirm your place at your preferred date.     Today in the studio is Dan Eaton, a former Royal Nay communicator who over the past two years has built a hugely successful serviced accommodation business, operating through Greater London, The Cotswolds and South Wales.  Dan has joined Kevin to talk about how he built his property business, the importance of establishing values and goals, and how he used property in order to replace his income completely. KEY TAKEAWAYS • After beginning a family, Dan decided to leave the Royal Navy, as it was taking him away from home too often. After working in the corporate world, Dan discovered that his family time was still too limited.    • Progressive Property's masterclass event opened up a whole new realm of income possibilities to Dan, who decided upon service accommodation because of the areas in which he wished to operate.     • Dan needed a "high cashflow in” strategy that worked in his local area, and serviced accommodation fit the bill perfectly.    • Establishing values was important. They wanted to only deal with properties in which they would be comfortable using themselves as a family.    • If you are thinking of operating a SA in a block, you need to consider whether or not there may be a lease on the property that prevents you from doing so.    • Dan used his rent-to-SA business in order to slowly leverage his way to developing and evolving his business to include many different remits.    • Being his own boss has allowed Dan to give more quality time to his family, a situation he never dreamed he'd be able to take advantage of. Property has allowed his family life to thrive.    • Because Dan didn't have an initial investment pot, it forced him to use different tactics, including seeking investors, and trying different rental types, in order to build his business.    • If you've got money sat in the bank, and at the mercy of interest rates and inflation, then use it to invest!    BEST MOMENTS   • ‘I thought well, if the army can do it…'  • ‘We don't have to worry about leases - it's all done from the source'  • ‘Property can be a journey'  • ‘I had all summer with the kids, and we've never had that before'  • ‘People invest with other people they know, like, and trust'  • 'The most important asset you can have is knowledge'   VALUABLE RESOURCES • The Serviced Accommodation Property Podcast • daniel.eaton@pivotalpointproperties.co.uk • Pivotal Point Properties - www.pivotalpointproperties.co.uk  ABOUT THE GUEST Dan Eaton, a former Royal Navy communicator and corporate world consultant, started his property journey in 2017.  Over the last two years, he has built up a successful Serviced Accommodation business, looking after 30 properties across Greater London, the Cotswolds and South Wales.   That SA business has ultimately led to him leaving full time employment, starting a small scale housing development and two commercial conversions into SA.  ABOUT THE HOST Kevin Poneskis, also known as the Property Soldier, has been a full-time property investor and mentor since 2011. This happened after he served the army for 24 years. He spent majority of this years in the 29 Commando Regiment RA and finished his time in the army as a Regimental Sergeant Major. Even during his time in the army, Kevin was already building his property portfolio and educating himself everything about real estate investments. Right now, he is writing his book Property Soldier, in which 100% of the profit from the book will go to homeless veterans, and hosting The Serviced Accommodation Property Podcast which educates people who want to explore and earn from serviced accommodation property investing. Greeting Citizens! Your friendly neighborhood Heroes of Noise are back. Albeit a little late, but back nonetheless. Obviously we're late with the show so we knew we had to bring it this week. Helping us bring it is Quinton Taylor Roberts, host of The Reel Zodiac podcast. He's a great guy with a great voice and he also happens to be a total professional.  This week on Episode 76 we sit down with Quinton to discuss life, love, relationships, and of course what we've been watching this week. Before we get to that we read an iTunes review that's attached to a funny coincidence. We then spend some time answering listener mail and this turns into yet another music conversation where we try to come to an agreement on who has the most recognizable opening riff. When we finally get down to business we start out with the third season of Stranger Things which Quinton and Dan have watched in it's entirety. We've all seen Spider-Man: Far From Home and spend some time going showing love to the latest release from the MCU.  Speaking of the MCU, Avengers:Endgame has still not beat Avatar. Because Dan had such harsh words about it last week he decided to give it it's first rewatch and Quinton did the same. Does Avatar hold up? Has Dan changed his mind? you'll have to listen to find out. LastlySteve has begun watching Euphoria and Dan and Quinton are all to eager to rave about HBO's latest hit.  We want to thank Quinton for joining us this week. We also want to thank all of you for your patience as well as your awesome support you give us every week. We hope you enjoy this extra long episode of Heroes of Noise. Let's begin.

Bullies gon' Bully: The Keaton Jones Fam Scam. In the wake of the Keaton Jones "Fam Scam," Ann, Becky, and Dan discuss bullying and the law. Bullying: What is bullying, as defined by the law? Is bullying illegal? Ann and Afro Becky have never been bullied before but Dan shares that he was bullied as a child after moving into a new neighborhood. Because Dan wasn't born and raised in what eventually became his "hood," he was bullied by other kids in the neighborhood before becoming accepted. In cases where bullying victims commit suicide or self-harm, should the bullies be charged with their deaths? If the bully is a minor, should the parents be responsible? What charges would the bully face? If the bullying happened at school, is the school liable? Why do bullies bully? Old School Bullying. Bullying was different in our day. We weren't connected via social media and the the "cool kids" weren't the ones that did the bullying. Dan's theory is when you pick on people that are perceived as weak or are scared of you, you're making them fight for their lives. When you make someone fight for their life, no matter how big and bad you are, there's a chance you can lose that fight. Ann discusses the differences between hazing and bullying. Though they share a lot of similarities they are different which is why there are separate laws for each. Fun fact: Gang initiations are considered hazing and are illegal! The fine in Louisiana for such activity is no less than $10 and no more than $100. How do you prevent your child (or yourself) from being bullied? Dan says always fight back, even if it's not in your best interest at that moment. He thinks that violence is the only thing that stops violence. Dan uses WW2 and the Vietnam wars as examples. If you're not good at fighting, or aren't willing to, you only other option is become a great joke teller. Sometimes the best jokes will hurt more than an ass whoopin'. Ann disagrees with fighting back. She believes that bullying victims should tell an adult. If telling an adult doesn't stop the bullying Ann says as a parent, she would speak with the bullying childs parent. If all else fails, Ann would file suits against the parents of the bully and the parents of any subsequent bullies. Ask an Attorney: Lawyer didn’t show up for court. My lawyer didn’t show up for court appearance. My case was continued and on the rescheduled date my attorney didn’t show up!
