Listeners of Heroes of Noise that love the show mention: dan and steve, amazing chemistry,The Heroes of Noise podcast is a must-listen for any pop culture enthusiast. Hosted by Dan and Steve, this show covers a wide range of topics including movies, music, TV shows, and more. Their friendly banter and discussions are highly engaging, leaving listeners hooked from the first episode they tune into.
One of the best aspects of The Heroes of Noise podcast is the chemistry between Dan and Steve. Their camaraderie is unmatched and creates an entertaining dynamic that keeps listeners coming back for more. Their discussions are well-informed and insightful, offering unique perspectives on various pop culture subjects. Additionally, their reviews are spot-on and honest, providing valuable recommendations for movies, music, and TV shows.
However, there is one slight downside to the podcast that some may find bothersome. Occasionally, Dan's train of thought seems to derail while relating a story or explaining something. With their impeccable chemistry, Dan and Steve bring life to every episode and keep listeners engaged throughout. Whether you're looking for in-depth discussions on pop culture or simply want to have some laughs with two great guys, this podcast is definitely worth your time. Welcome to Episode 207! It's been 6 months since we last fired up the HON machine. We'll call this a full episode, but you can think of this one as more of a check-in; A sort've warm up, if you will. This one is for you to have in your ears so you can feel like you're in the room with us just shooting the shit like the old days. You won't get any reviews on this episode (real ones anyway). This will be more like when Grandpa used to get his badass classic car and take it out for a drive on Sunday. Basically we're just burning some carbon off. We both have been itching to get back on mic, but to play it safe we'll take these next episodes one at a time for now. But yes, there will be more.Ya boys haven't actually had a full conversation in quite some time. For almost the entirety of this year, if we're being honest. So it was nice catching up again. Here's some of what we get into on this one: Steve liked Abigail R.I.P. Baxter, Hello Penny Bougie Dog Food Dan's father of the year moment Pellet v wood Steve's current “Status” You've gotta moisturize We get dark for a minute Steve comes through with an unexpected quiz How many porn stars can you name? Dan isn't about “Anyone But You” What we need to catch up on at the theaters Finally we end on some Fantastic 4 talk and some upcoming shows Dan will be seeing. That's it for this time around. We're glad to be in your ears again and plan on doing this Ian real soon. Until then, Friends..
Yo! Dan Here. Welcome to Episode 206! This episode was supposed to be out a week ago. But audio issues made this one almost unlistenable so a little time and TLC brought it back from the dead. We had to come back with our review of Barbie being that his movie is absolutely crushing at the box office(As of this date the movie has made a Billion dollars at the Box Office taking only seventeen days to do it. Dan originally talked a lot of crap on this movie (it's not as bad as it reads). Does he feel the same after seeing it? All this and...well, pretty much all this awaits you on this special bonus episode of Heroes of Noise. Enjoy!

Welcome to Episode 204! After a 3 month break we're back and absolutely thrilled to be in your ears again. Happy Halloween and welcome to Episode 198: Geek Out / Freak Out V This one was starting off to be a bigger show but 34 minutes into "recording" we noticed that we weren't actually recording at all. So consequently we had to start all over again. This episode will be a little shorter than our previous GOFO episodes for that reason and on top of that Dan was not feeling well. However, that did not stop us from bringing the fun. Here's what we get into on this episode: "Claws Up or Claw Down?" - A look back at 2022 Horror movies "Terrifier 2" Review "Barbarian" Review A Chat with The Dark Lord Halloween Horror Nights 2022 Steve's spooky quiz We hope you enjoy this compact Geek Out / Freak Out episode. It wasn't the show we wanted to bring you but we still had fun and hopefully you will too. Have a happy and safe Halloween!
Welcome to a bonus episode of Heroes of Noise. This is another peak at what we're doing over on Patreon. For Episode 48 we're joined by our friend Chris Lowe of the band Volk. This episode starts off with a "cold open" as we're mid conversation when the intro ends. It was originally going to be a straight up review podcast but it sort've went off the rails from the very beginning. Musicians gonna musician, folks. Once we do get on track we have reviews for "Grimcutty" on Hulu, "Dashcam" also on Hulu, and we cap things off with our review of Black Adam (now in theaters) and our quick thoughts on the "House of the Dragon" finale. Be sure to catch Chris on tour with Volk in November and check out their website: https://www.livevolk.com for everything Volk. For more HON content check us out on Patreon
On this special bonus episode of Heroes of Noise we're joined by returning guests and friends of the show Ben Rock and Bob DeRosa. Ben and Bob were kind enough to take the time to talk with us about their brand new Audible story "Catchers". We spend time talking about the ins and outs of their recording process, production during Covid, their amazing cast and much more. We want to thank Ben and Bob for stopping by and wish them success with this captivating story that will have listeners on the edge of their seats. You can purchase and download "Catchers" right now by clicking here. "Catchers": In Buck Lake, Colorado, the resident dog catcher, Collins, is on the verge of retirement. But something strange lurks in the woods, about to ruin his plans.... After 30 years, Collins is ready to be done with small-town animal control. His replacement, Blair, is a Gen Z vet student who hates mansplaining; they don't get along. But on the eve of his retirement, Collins gets a call that changes everything. There's been a report of a vicious wild dog on the loose. Collins and Blair head to a remote family farm to check it out. But instead of finding one wayward mutt, they're attacked by an entire pack of bloodthirsty creatures. Are they animals? Aliens? Or something more sinister? Collins and Blair have never seen eye to eye, but they'll have to learn to work together if they want to survive the night. The future of Buck Lake depends on it. Catchers is a small-town horror tale with all the charm of a classic ‘80s creature-feature, updated for the modern era. Billy Gardell (Bob Hearts Abishola) stars as Collins alongside Herizen Guardiola (American Gods) as Blair. With hair-raising twists and a diverse cast of characters, Catchers has something to send shivers down every horror lover's spine. Welcome to Episode 194 It's been a few weeks since we dropped a new episode and we're glad to be back. Last weekend a special thing happened and we chose to devote this episode to it. We're referring to the "Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert" that took place at Wembley Stadium and streamed live on Paramount+. It was an emotional concert to say the least with so many performers paying tribute to one of the greats. We'll be back soon with another episode on our regular feed and patrons can expect a brand new exclusive episode in a few days. Enjoy the show. R.I.P Taylor Hawkins

Welcome back! We're so excited to bring this bonus episode to you. This is literally the most fun we've had doing an "interview". Why the quotation marks? It's because it didn't feel like an interview to us. This was like chatting with an old friend once we got going. As a bonus, our good friend Johnny Bucks from "Ooh! Electric Shock!" podcast joins the conversation. It was good times, people. That's what we're trying to convey to you. So who are we talking about exactly? That would be Preshas Jenkins, veteran stuntman with credits that include "Straight Outta Compton", "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Transformers", and a little independent project known as the "Marvel Cinematic Universe", perhaps you've heard of it. His work in the MCU includes "Captain America: Civil War", "Avengers: Infinity War / Endgame", "Black Panther" as well as the upcoming sequel "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever". Dan happened to meet him by chance one day and once they got to talking, it was a no-brainer that we had to have Preshas join us for a chat and believe us when we say he didn't disappoint. We want to thank Preshas for joining us this week and we truly think that you'll enjoy yourselves listening to this one. If you could do us a solid and please share the crap out of this for us on social media, etc we'd really appreciate it. It's not so much about numbers for HON as it is getting this into people's ears who might not hear it otherwise. When we have special guests we really try to make that happen since they were good enough to give us some of their time. Ok that's enough business for now. It's time to press "play" and listen to our interview with the coolest cat ever. Enjoy!

Welcome to Episode 187! Please forgive the tardiness on this one. It was a busy week for Dan and due to a couple of start / stops while recording, this episode needed some slight editing. * No content was edited other than taking out a few long pauses. Now then... Welcome to Episode 186 It's been a week when it comes to news, but two stories really stood out. They were of course Will Smith attacking Chris Rock at the Oscars and the tragic death of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. That said, we decided to make this episode exclusively about these particular news stories. Welcome to Episode 185 This week we decided do a non-review episode so we just turned on the mics and let it rip. Sometimes good things happen when we go off the cuff and this week it worked in our favor (at least we thought so). Because we just decided to riff, Gamemaster Hudson introduces a brand new game called "City or Silly" (Working Title). We also ended up bringing back a listener favorite and played a few rounds of "Stuck In The Middle"; the game where we take the songs you think you know well and scramble your brain by sometimes proving that you really dont. This is a shorter episode but we thick you'll like it. Let us know what you think of the games this week as we are very much considering fleshing out SITM and possibly making it a video game show where we get our listeners involved. We'll be back soon with Episode 186. Have a great week. Peace!
Welcome to Episode 184 This week we start out feeling the weight of life and aging is on our minds. But that all goes away in an instant as we introduce ourselves to Captain Canberra (aka Terry Wrist) and his 2014 musical gem entitled "F*ck You All". We talk a little about the Pete Davidson and Ye feud and the recent shots fired online by Pete. Plus Willliam Hurt has passed, HON Craft Corner, and more. We spend the most time talking about the new Ryan Reynolds movie 'The Adam Project' (Now on Netflix). But before we get to that we spend some time quickly reviewing everything else we watched this week, and they are as follows: Steve watched Unhinged (VOD) HON talks Fresh (Hulu) Dan has seen the first episode of Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty (HBO Max) Dan talks about 'Super Pumped: The Battle For Uber' (Showtime) Dan briefly reviews 'Our Flag Means Death' (HBO Max) Steve watched 'Scream 2022' (VOD) Dan watched 'The Drop Out' (Hulu) To hear more of what Dan expand upon his solo reviews this week, listen to his guest appearance on Episode 416 of Pop Culture Leftovers. That's the show this week. We'll back soon with Episode 185. Until then... Peace! Welcome to Episode 183 This week we have several reviews for you. Some of them are on the shorter side, but we wanted to leave some room on the back end to talk about a little independent movie that came out last week called 'The Batman'. Welcome to Episode 180. This one was recorded a couple of days ago. But due to Omicron knocking out Dan's whole department at work (except Dan), he's been very busy this week. It's also why we have a shorter show for you this week. But don't fret, you get all of our regular absurdity in this compact episode. Here's what we're talking about before getting to our review: Steve ruins an announcement by just being Steve Taco Bell v Del Taco, Burgers, and Arby's Blue Cheese is the devil We know this much is true RIP to Meat Loaf and Louie Anderson Random music chat We then get into the review and this week we're talking about Ridley Scott's "The Last Duel" which premiered in theaters last year and just dropped on HBO Max. This movie stars Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer, and Ben Affleck. That's the show in a nutshell. We'll be back soon with the Noisey Awards 3 where we give praise to our favorite things from 2021 (believe it or not, we actually found some things). Until then, stay out of trouble and keep your noses clean. We'll talk to you soon. Peace!

Happy New Year and welcome to Episode 178! 2022 is upon us and who knows what's going to happen this year. Too early to tell. what we can tell you though is we think you'll enjoy our first episode of the year. Here's what we're talking about: We start things up with a conversation about Howard Stern, Oprah, Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Corolla, and more We move straight into our review of the Netflix Original "Don't Look Up". Welcome go Episode 177 * This episode was actually recorded on Dec 16th. Due to some serious audio lag it required a little editing to get the conversation to line up (lots of talking over each other). It's mostly fixed but you may hear a little of that on this one. That combined with a busy work week bring us to this somewhat tardy episode. OK let's move on... This week we start things off with Steve "car casting" while he's driving home. In fact you get 3 different versions of Steve's audio recordings...(Car, Phone, and Studio - see above
Welcome to Episode 176 This week, outside of a little unrelated banter at the top of the show we're dedicating our time to The Beatles: Get Back (now streaming on Disney+). We're also joined by Quinton Roberts of the Reel Zodiac podcast. It wouldn't have been appropriate for us to not include Quinton on this one as he's the biggest Beatles fan we know. We'll be honest that if you're not into the Beatles then this episode may not be for you. But this is a Peter Jackson film we're talking about here and there's a lot to be appreciated. Listen in as we talk about our favorite highlights and why this film is such an important piece of work. We'll go ahead and put in a very rare (for us anyway) time stamp so that if you just want to hear the review you can. The review begins at 00:53:38:15 We want to thank Quinton for joining us this week. It's always a pleasure when he does. Be sure to subscribe to The Reel Zodiac podcast any where podcasts are heard. Subscribe on Apple Podcasts by clicking here. We'll be back next week with Episode 177. Have a great week.
Welcome to a tardy Episode 175 This episode would've been out a couple of days ago but I had some issues with the files . That combined with real life work put this on the back burner for a minute. My apologies. Now then... Here's what we're talking about this week: Razzling and Dazzling Hand holding is weird Mr and Mrs Bucks Brass Against, Sophia Urista, and a whole lot of pee Reviews: We've both seen Red Notice on Netflix Dan's gives his thoughts on King Richard, now playing in theaters as well as HBO Max Our thought on Last Night In Soho (VOD and theaters) Finally, we have both seen the first 2 episodes of Marvel's Hawkeye on Disney+ and give our ratings Being that this episode came out late, you'll be hearing from us sooner than later. We hope everyone is well and is handling the holiday stress ok. It's crazy as shit out there. Be kind to your minds. Talk to you soon. Peace! Welcome to Episode 174 This week we're joined by Chris Lowe from Cow Punk legends in the making, Volk. We've been wanting to talk with Chris for quite some time now and were glad we finally got to as Chris is not only a true talent, but also a man with a lot on his mind. Also, we LOVE talking music as you already know. We spend some time talking about the history of Volk, the goings-on in the world , and life on and off the road. We then get to some reviews and this week we're talking about the latest MCU release "Eternals", now in theaters. Next up is the Netflix original "The Harder They Fall", starring Idris Elba , Regina King, Delroy Lindo, LaKeith Stanfield, Jonathan Majors, and more. Finally we get into a discussion about Denis Viilanueve's Dune, now in theaters and on HBO Max. Chris had to stick to a certain time limit with us on the day we recorded, as he's a busy man about to leave for a tour. But we look forward to having him back on ASAP as we enjoyed talking with him so much. We're looking forward to catching Volk in Fresno next month on December 2nd and hope to see some of you there. You can see all dates for the upcoming tour by clicking here . Pick up a copy of Volk's latest album "Cashville" and check out livevolk.com to stay current on everything the band's up to. Greetings, Foolish Mortals.... Welcome to Episode 173: Geek Out / Freak Out 4. It's one of favorite shows to record every year and we always try to do something different. For 2021, not only do we bring you reviews of Sam Raimi's "Evil Dead" (1981) and John Carpenter's "The Thing" (1982, Dan also gives a spoiler free review of 2021's "Antlers", now playing in theaters. But that's not all. In addition to our reviews we also play a couple quick Halloween themed games and cap things off with something you've never heard us do. We won't get into it, here but we will tell you that we couldn't have down it without our friend Jeffrey Range. Special thanks to Jeffrey for stepping up and helping us with the last segment of the podcast. We can't thank him enough. Well, Boils and Ghouls... Press "play" if you dare... And prepare yourself for this year's "Geek Out / Freak Out". We take no responsibility to any possessions or poltergeists that me come along with this recording. You've been warned... HON would like to wish each and every one of you a safe and happy Halloween. We'll talk to you soon. Peace!
Welcome to Episode 172 As we continue with our "Thrillers, Chillers, and Killers" run for the month of October, we had the opportunity to sit down with someone that covers all the bases. This week filmmaker Brandon Christensen, writer and director of 'Superhost', 'Z', and "Still/Born' joins us for a chat. We had a blast talking with Brandon about the making of 'Superhost' (If you didn't see above, there are MAJOR SPOILERS in this episode. You'll definitely want to make sure you've seen it prior to listening to this because we assure you we spoil the hell out of it. That also goes for 'Z' to some degree. We also spend some time talking about Brandon's career, his work with Blitz//Berlin, family life, future projects, Kevin Smith, and we even manage to get a couple of dick jokes in (blame Dan). We want to thank Brandon for joining us and wish him nothing but success in his already bright and successful career. Follow Brandon on social media: Twitter: @thebrandonc85 Instagram: @thebrandonchristensen IMDB - Brandon Christensen Be sure to check out all of Brandon's past and present work. It's fantastic. We'll be back next week with our Halloween Special "Geek Out / Freak Out 4". Until then keep the Halloween spirit alive and sit yourself down in front of something scary. Family doesn't count. Peace! Welcome to Episode 171 This week we keep the opening banter short and get to what we've been watching over the past week a little quicker. This week it's all about thrillers and killers. Dan gives 2 quick reviews for movies Steve hasn't seen yet. The first being the Netflix original "There's Someone Inside Your House", and the second being the Amazon Prime Video original "The Voyeurs". When we get into what we've both seen, we start off with the Shudder original "Superhost". We follow that one up with "V/H/S/94", another original from Shudder. We cap things off with our review of the recently released "Halloween Kills", the follow up to 2018's "Halloween". Did it live up to the hype? Listen in to find out what we thought. That's pretty much how this episode all plays out. We hope you enjoy. We'll be back with more Thrillers, Chillers, and Killers next week. Until then, keep it spooky.
Welcome to Episode 170 This week Dan is back on his bullshit with his 3d printer and talks about his recent creations, We've both been stood up by Steve's son as he decided to take his new girlfriend to Halloween Horror Nights instead of come with us. We also continue our discussion about plans to go to HHN ourselves. Dan gives Steve the business about his Tik Tok account and talks him into an impromptu game of "Stuck In The Middle", the game where lyrics are randomly grabbed from an odd spot of a song verse and the player has to try to figure out what song it is. It's not that easy, trust us. We then discuss the future of the MCU and wonder who will be the true leader of phase 4. This brings us to a quick discussion about the upcoming Marvel film 'The Eternals", which leads us into a discussion about the cast, which then leads us to a 20 year old news story involving the creepy siblings Jolie and that night at the Oscars where they were attached at the lips. We follow it all up with some reviews: Dan gives some quick thoughts on "Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings" and wonders why Steve still hasn't seen it. We then discuss and review the Netflix smash hit "Squid Games". Lastly we discuss a very much anticipated movie that we've both been waiting to see, "The Many Saints of Newark", the sequel to HBO's "The Sopranos". Did we like it? Did it serve it's purpose? Listen to find out. With that, we'll see our way out and let you catch up with what we've been up to on Episode 170. Enjoy! Patreon patrons can expect a new episode coming very soon (We promise). Peace!
Welcome to Episode 169! Last episode was a bit of a false start, as we thought we were back in business. Unfortunately Dan got pretty sick and had to take a couple more weeks off. Here's some of what we're talking about on this episode: Dan Returns from the Dead to get his kid to college Freakin Starbucks Steve gets rejected Dan's 3D Printer Volk is coming to Fresno, “Welcome To Cashville” Halloween planning and HHN Here's what we've watched and or listened to this week: Y The Last Man Attack on Titan Reservation Dogs Midnight Mass (SPOILERS) Thanks to Volk for letting us play their tunes. Welcome to Episode 168! After a month-long absence HON is back. This week we do some necessary catching up as we haven't really spoken much over our hiatus. Here's a bit of what we're talking about in this one: Do we have Covid? Ball Shaving Steve thinks Dan is an Antimasker after his Coheed and Cambria concert experience Hudson in Hawaii Covid complications “A fine how do you do” We don't do any full on reviews on this one, but we do talk about some of the things we've seen while we were away They include: Spider-man No Way Home What If?… Suicide Squad Dave Season 2 Coda Free Guy Candyman We'll keep the notes short and sweet, and just say we're glad to be back and don't plan on any long hiatuses in the near future. Thanks for sticking with us. Talk to you soon. Peace!
Welcome to Episode 167 This week we start off talking about music pretty much from the get go. We discuss recording "artist" DaBaby. It's mostly us making fun of his name, but this leads us into one of our "Old Men on New Music" discussions. Also on the show, Dan comes to the realization that "Satanic stuff is awesome", singer Aaron Lewis has a new song with an old agenda and we're not having it, There are definitely cooler ways way to die, Tales from the Muay Thai Kid, and more. In Noise News: Joey Jordison (Slipknot) is dead at 46 Dusty Hill (ZZ Top) is dead at 72 Scarlett Johnasson sues Disney over Black Widow We wrap things up with a review of the Netflix Original "Blood Red Sky", and the new M. Welcome to Episode 166! This week we're not alone as longtime friend of the show Quinton Roberts of The Reel Zodiac podcast joins us to catch up, laugh, and review some content. It's always a pleasure having Quinton with us and this time was no exception. First up Dan gives a short review of Kevin Smith's 'Masters of the Universe: Revelation' (Now on Netflix). He keeps it pretty vague as he's the only one who's seen it. This also applies to 'Ted Lasso' S2E01 (AppleTV+). *At the time of this recording, both shows had only been out for a few hours so neither Steve or Quinton had gotten a chance to watch them yet. We then get into a discussion about the new Foo Fighters / Dee Gees EP that recently dropped. Dan and Quinton share their thoughts on the new material and as well as the classic Bee Gees covers. When we finally get into talking about what we've all seen the previous week, we start off with 'Pig', starring Nicholas Cage (Now in Theaters and on VOD). We follow that up with a discussion about the recently released 'The Forever Purge', (also in theaters and on VOD). Finally we wrap things up with a short review of 'McCartney 3,2,1' (Now streaming on Hulu). As usual, there's a lot more buried in the show and we'll just let you get to on you own. We had a great time and we think you will to. We'll be back later this week with Episode 167 as well as another Patreon episode where we'll be discussing the A24 film 'Zola'. That's all for now. Talk to you soon. Peace!
Welcome to Episode 165 In our continued scramble for a normalized recording schedule, we waited until Sunday to record this episode. We both needed to see "Black Widow" and couldn't let the episode happen without talking about it. This week we not only have a "Black Widow" review for you but we also discuss the 2021 reboot "Wrong Turn", directed by Mike P. Nelson. We'll keep the notes short this time and let you get to listening. We'll be back later this week with another episode. If you're wanting more HON in your life, we just put out 2 Patreon exclusive episodes so be sure to check us out over there as well. More info below. Have a good week. We'll talk to you soon. Peace!
