Legendary St. Louis media personality REAL ROCK TOM TERBROCK joins the show for an unforgettable tournament of pop culture.  Jason Kull and Mark Bland welcome Tom Terbrock to the QNow for some much needed discussion and a run through some of the greatest metal music of all time. Tom spent many days working at a other political radio stations with his cohort Dave Glover producing one of the best radio shows in St. Louis Broadcast history. And Tom is not a fan of discussing the politics anymore. Find out why it bothers him so much! Next up Tom brings up Prowrestling and the fact that Mark just had a match last month against Shaft for the commissionership. Mark has to explan to Tom how he was screwed over by the management of MMWA and cheated out of his rightful win! This brings up other wrestling and then eventually gets back to radio and learning how you know you are doing well or became popular in broadcasting. Tom tells a story Mark knows all too well and the two disucss their less than stellar past issues with hate in the industry. Finally Mark, Jay and Tom take a crack at the Tournament of Pop Culture: Best Metal Albums of all time. Yes Iron Maiden was in the tournament. Mark, a bit frightened byt the potential reaction, put together a lit of the best metal albums of all time. Some taken from the RollingStone list of albums, some personally thrown in there...but reagrdless, a TOPC that is designed for the guest. Did Mark do good? Is your metal album on the list? Did the album you thougth would win, actually win...We find out on this episode of the show.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Cody Quistad of Wage War over Zoom video! Florida hard rock quintet WAGE WAR — Briton Bond [lead vocals], Cody Quistad [rhythm guitar, clean vocals], Seth Blake [lead guitar], Chris Gaylord [bass], and Stephen Kluesener [drums] — have released their fourth full-length Manic on Fearless Records. The band recently shared their new single "Circle the Drain," one of the most anthemic songs in the band's catalog to date."'Circle the Drain' is a song about learning from past mistakes and accepting responsibility in a world that needs change," the band shares. "It starts with us deciding to be a part of the solution."As for the album, Wage War offer, "After a long wait, and endless hours of work, we could not be more ecstatic to announce our new album Manic. We've spent the entire last year working so hard to bring you the best Wage War yet, and we've never been more sure that we've accomplished that."The band previously shared the video for "High Horse."On Manic, the band masterfully strikes a delicate and well-crafted balance of grooves, riffs, melodies, and electronic flourishes. After amassing nearly 300 million streams and receiving widespread acclaim from Billboard, Loudwire, Modern Drummer, American Songwriter, Alternative Press, and more, the group delivered 11 anthems meant to connect through turbulence."Manic encompasses everything we've gone through as musicians in the last year-and-a-half," says Kluesener. "The whole industry halted, and we technically lost our jobs. Our scene was among the first to leave and the last to come back. The album captures the whole period."Quistad pulls back the curtain even more, saying, "Mania is a wild emotion. The last year was all severe highs and lows. We had some victories, but we've also had so many low points. We've built this thing for the last 10 years and put all of our chips into it. We've missed birthdays and funerals, but we've done some extraordinary things. Last year, we found ourselves wondering if it would ever come back. That's really what the album is about."Ultimately, Manic is a triumph and a definitive artistic statement for Wage War. It represents the apex of an intense creative journey. They built a diehard audience with Blueprints [2015] and Deadweight [2017] and through incessant touring. 2019's Pressure exploded right out of the gate. "Low" piled on 24.9 million Spotify streams with "Who I Am" at 10.7 million Spotify streams and "Me Against Myself" at 8.4 million Spotify streams. Beyond bringing their total stream tally past a-quarter-of-a-billion, it landed on Loudwire's "50 Best Metal Albums of 2019," while Billboard praised the album's levity. American Songwriter called attention to the evolution of the band's songwriting and sound, while New Noise Magazine awarded it 4-out-of-5 stars. Elsewhere, Alternative Press raved, "Wage War are unapologetically changing the game on all fronts on Pressure."We want to hear from you! This week on our final show of 2018 we give you a special double episode as we celebrate some of the great music that left an impression on us in 2018, counting down our top 15 albums of the year. The poetry of sadness, the lovely brutality of our senses and the essence of joy and peace that heavy metal brings people like us daily -- we cover it all and gladly present our list of genuine and beautiful music that defined this year. Special guests Jori Apedaile (Eneferens), Will Walker (Graveshadow), Henry Derek Elis, Isaiah Mitchell (Earthless) and Stavros Giannopoulos (The Atlas Moth) join us for quick chats.

This week we take a look at the best metal albums of 2016 so far. Of course we see it differently from one another but we lay out what this year has offered and what it really means in the scope of metal history and the rest of the year to come. We also invite Rob Pasbani of Metal Injection and the Metal Injection Livecast to offer a different perspective on this year's releases. He fills us in on his new-car jams and takes a look ahead at which albums might be on the slate for the top of the year overall. We talk about Gojira's new album Magma as well as other highly anticipated albums of 2016 and how they have measured up to expectations, as well as some albums that've surprised us. Rob also tells us about the coolest listening party in history: a small gathering of journalists and friends at Gojira's new Silver Cord Studios to hear Magma in its entirety. What does he think of one of the most anticipated metal albums of 2016? We spin four of the year's best tracks on this episode instead of the normal two. Songs: Primitive Weapons - "Ashes or Paradise" Zeal and Ardor - "Devil Is Fine" Mantar – "Era Borealis" Fallujah – "The Void Alone"
