Pastor Jeremy continues his series on Building Blocks, the BFBC 7 week Bible Study, on Wednesday in Glendive. John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. ● To your advantage ● Gooder ● Helper means: comforter, counselor, standby, helper, intercessor, advocate, & strengthener. John 16:12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. ● The Holy Spirit will lead you into truth, He will teach you, He will shine understanding upon God's Word. 1 Cor. 2 ● The Holy Spirit will tell you things to come. ● He will glorify the Lord. If what you are hearing doesn't glorify the Lord then you can deduce that you are not listening to the Spirit of Truth. John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. ● The Holy Spirit moves in at salvation ○ Ez. 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. ● The Holy Spirit comes upon you when you're baptized in the Holy Spirit. ○ Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” ○ Acts 2, Acts 10, Acts 19 they were filled with the Spirit (the Holy Spirit came upon them) and they began to speak with tongues.

We've talked about THE VISION God gives THE VISION to … PEOPLE – LAST week we talked about THE CALL Ephesians 4:8 - 11 And He Himself gave SOME to be apostles, SOME prophets, SOME evangelists, and SOME pastors and teachers, “SOME”: The MAJORITY of the Body of Christ is found in the HELPS/DEACONS ministry Why were these OFFICES given …. 12 for the EQUIPPING [perfecting] of the saints for the work of ministry, for the EDIFYING of the body of Christ, How long will these GIFTS/OFFICES be in operation in the church? 13 TILL we ALL come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should NO LONGER be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, MAY GROW UP IN ALL THINGS into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the WHOLE BODY, joined and knit together by what EVERY joint supplies, according to the effective working by which EVERY PART does its share, causes GROWTH of the body for the edifying of itself in love. – THIS week we are going to talk about THE JOB [The Apostle] PEOPLE stand in the offices that JESUS GAVE the church … The OFFICES are set up and … PEOPLE are placed in them … by God [Both] 1 Corinthians 12:18 But now GOD HAS SET the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. [VOICE] This is where God comes in. God has meticulously put this body together; He placed each part in the exact place to perform the exact function He wanted. Meticulously: in a way that shows great attention to detail; very thoroughly WHY am I talking on the office of the APOSTLE? -It's an OFFICE that we don't UNDERSTAND – -These OFFICES originated with GOD – It was HIS IDEA [not man's – MAN has made a mess of them] – JESUS “set them up” … FOR us - Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge … Pastor Larry [HEAD OF BFBC] operates in this OFFICE - You will see things go on in BFBC that look different than OTHER churches - 1 CHURCH = 6 LOCATIONS o We are REGION minded … NOT “town” minded o There is a reason “WHY” we THINK like this … Apostles are FIRST and FOREMOST a PREACHER or TEACHER of the Word o 1 Timothy 2:7 for which I was appointed a PREACHER and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying—a TEACHER of the Gentiles in faith and truth. o 2 Timothy 1:11 to which I was appointed a PREACHER, an apostle, and a TEACHER of the Gentiles. - Appointed: ASSIGNED to a position, an office APOSTLE was a “secular word” BEFORE it was ever used in the EARLY CHURCH Apostle means: one who is SENT away - It was a picture of a MILITARY expedition, ARMED forces, a MILITARY entourage - A TRUE APOSTLE is one who is “SENT” with a commission by the Holy Spirit

Brandi shares Sunday in Dickinson. God gives THE VISION to PEOPLE. The VISION of BFBC was given to Pastor Larry. People stand in the offices that JESUS GAVE the church. The OFFICES are set up and … PEOPLE are placed in them … by God [Both] WHY are the OFFICES so important? Ephesians 4:12 for the EQUIPPING of the saints for the work of ministry, for the EDIFYING of the body of Christ, Faith comes “By hearing the Word of God” [Romans 10: 17] BUT … there are “anointing's” that will cause you to HEAR/SEE something from the WORD that you might NOT “catch” on YOUR OWN. Romans 10:13-17 For“whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? It is impossible to BELIEVE IN SOMETHING YOU HAVEN'T HEARD BEFORE. There is NO BELIEVING [FAITH] without HEARING. … And how shall they hear WITHOUT A PREACHER? There is ANOINTINGS that go with THE OFFICE that God put's PEOPLE in … You can “hear” something without actually … “HEARING IT” CONVERSATIONS: People are talking but your mind is racing /zoning - you can “HEAR THE WORDS” … you couldn't answer ONE QUESTION about what they SAID. Ephesians 4:7-16 But TO EACH ONE of us grace WAS given according to the measure of Christ's gift. 8 Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave GIFTS to men 9 (Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.) These “gifts” are called: THE ASCENTION GIFTS They were given AFTER Jesus “ascended” on high When He LEFT – He gave the “gifts” TO US [the Church] These gifts came FROM Jesus 11 And He Himself gave SOME to be apostles, SOME prophets, SOME evangelists, and SOME pastors and teachers, “SOME”: The MAJORITY of the Body of Christ is found in the HELPS/DEACONS ministry Why were these OFFICES given …. 12 for the EQUIPPING of the saints for the work of ministry, for the EDIFYING of the body of Christ, Why did JESUS give them? 1) for the perfecting of the saints 2) for the work of the ministry 3) for the edifying of the Body of Christ “PERFECTING” – Greek word “katartismos” denotes a fitting or a preparing FULLY - implying a PROCESS of leading to COMPLETION The church [the saints] will NEVER REACH MATURITY … WITHOUT these “OFFICES” How long will these GIFTS/OFFICES be in operation in the church? 13 TILL we ALL come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man [mature], to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; These MINISTRY GIFTS are Christ's PROVISION TO THE CHURCH to: BUILD UP, EDIFY, and MATURE the saints 14 that we should NO LONGER be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, [The ministry gifts = GROW US UP] 15 but, speaking the truth in love, MAY GROW UP IN ALL THINGS into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the WHOLE BODY, joined and knit together by what EVERY joint supplies, according to the effective working by which EVERY PART does its share, causes GROWTH of the body for the edifying of itself in love. These OFFICES HELP US to GROW UP INTO HIS IMAGE When we ACCEPT – HONOR – RECEIVE FROM the “offices” that God has SET IN THE CHURCH … GROWTH will come Naturally you'll see GROWTH [Numbers – People] Spiritually you'll see GROWTH [Maturing – Equipping]

What is the VISION of BFBC: “Revealing a Friend" to this REGION * This is our “MISSION STATEMENT” BFBC: is a Church as a Force mentality - The church is PEOPLE - who are equipped TO SERVE kingdom purposes When the SAINTS start doing the ministry, they get excited, and the church truly becomes A FORCE for God in the world. Isaiah 54:3 [KJV] "For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited." Break: to burst out, spread abroad, compel, disperse, and grow Forth: to show lineage Psalm 71:18 [NLT] Now that I am OLD and GRAY, do not abandon me, O God.Let ME proclaim your power to this NEW generation, your mighty miracles to ALL who COME AFTER me. Matt 9:35-36 [NKJV] "Then Jesus WENT about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd." One of the things that MOTIVATED and STIRRED the heart of compassion in my dad was while driving at night … he would look out and see a “YARD LIGHT” JESUS saw the multitudes … and it “MOVED” Him to action It's PEOPLE … that's why BFBC continues to grow – change – enlarge the place of our tent(s) Isaiah 54:2 [NIV] Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. Without a vision … we struggle With a vision … we flourish - we achieve success, and fulfill our God-given ASSIGNMENTS It takes OPERATING IN FAITH for a VISION to come to pass Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [TPT] Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen. Vance Havner said, “The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps – we must step up the stairs.” James 2:26 [GW] A body that doesn't breathe is dead. In the same way faith that does NOTHING is dead. Mark 9:23 [NLT] “What do you mean, ‘If I can'?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible IF a person believes.” We are to HEAR THE PROPHETIC WORD – CATCH THE VISION OF IT – SEE IT THROUGH THE EYE OF FAITH – REFUSE TO GIVE UP until it comes to pass Genesis 15:5-6 Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That's how many descendants you will have!” 6 And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith. It became REAL to him Proverbs 2:2 [TPT] So TRAIN your heart to listen when I speak … VISION comes when HE SPEAKS Proverbs 4:21 [TPT] Fill your THOUGHTS with my words until they penetrate deep into your spirit. This is keeping THE VISION in front of you 4 Then my father taught me, saying, “Never forget my words. [GW Translation: “Cling to my words wholeheartedly”] IF you do everything that I teach you, you will reign in life.” Reign: dominating power or influence - to have control, rule, or influence of any kind – possessing royal AUTHORITY Josh Pennington said, “It is one thing to see a vision. It's another thing to be seized by a vision.” Seized: take hold of suddenly and FORCIBLY

BFBC functions as a force, not a field ● Church as a field - The church is a place where people come and the work of God is done. ○ Inside the building the work of the Lord is done by trained professionals, the building becomes the harvest field. ● Church as a force - The church is people, equipped to serve, meeting needs everywhere in Jesus' Name. ○ Inside the building worship, training, and fellowship are done. The building is a Holy Ghost Hospital where believers can assemble to recoup, recharge, be restored, repaired, encouraged, sharpened, and head back out into the field to do the work of the ministry again. Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus ● Luke 24:1 Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.' ” ● This action of the resurrection is a crescendo of a long list of God bringing something dead back to life... ○ 1 Kings 17 the widow's son (Elijah) ○ 2 Kings 4 shunammite woman's son (Elisha) ○ 2 Kings 13 Israelite man thrown on Elisha's bones ○ Luke 7 the only son of a widow woman (Jesus) ○ Luke 8/Mark 5 Jairus' daughter (Jesus) ○ John 11 Lazarus (Jesus) ● or you could say it this way...God making something out of nothing. ○ Abraham & Sarah ○ Joseph ○ Gideon ○ David ● Life is hard, marriage is hard, raising kids is hard, owning a business is hard, working for someone is hard, caring for livestock during snowmageddon is hard, shopping for groceries is hard, filling up with fuel is hard...shoveling snow is hard!! ○ This building is a Holy Ghost Hospital where believers can assemble to recoup, recharge, be restored, repaired, encouraged, sharpened, and head back out into the field to do the work of the ministry again. ○ This is who we are, this is what we do. We let God do what He is good at, bringing dead things back to life, making something out of nothing. ○ Do you need a little resurrection in your marriage, your business, the relationship with your kids, your career, your ground, your body... ■ Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Bass Pro, Cabelas, Scheels (These stores have it all) 1 Cor 12:12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For in fact the body is not one member but many. ● Here at BFBC, it doesn't matter if you're from Wibaux, or Beach, it doesn't matter if you're this color or that, young or old, it doesn't matter if you've spent time in the clink or if you run the clink. We are all here to worship the Living God. ● Diversity of gifts is what makes us great. Eph 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. ● Part of our DNA is that we are joined and knit together. ● Heb. 10:24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. ● BFBC is one church in many locations. We are very purposeful in assembling ourselves together. We have the Rally, BFBI graduation, and Empowered. Rom 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: ● We don't bury what God has given us in the dirt. Matt 25 ● Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” ● We use our talents and giftings to serve others. ● We have opportunities to serve our church family, our communities, our region, and the world.
